    For $350 I could almost buy an RC B-17G and actually fly it. The prices of plastic kits have become ridiculous. Having said that this is a nice kit.

    Ooo! I have to build on of those... That's my beloved Pop in the co-pilots seat in the 390th Bombardment Group destroying industries from high above Germany. He came out of it a greater man than when he went in.

    I have arthritis in my hands so am not dextrose enough to build anything small anymore, 1/48th being about the smallest I can manage, this kit looks as though it would be perfect for me, guess I better start saving up for this one. I bought the 1/18th scale FW-190A by hobby boss and am really disappointed by the lack of detail on it, no pilot, no engine, and very poor cockpit detailing, no wonder I got it cheap, £60, a lot less than even some 1/32nd kits, so beware of this kit, it isn’t worth the money or disappointment. Look forward to the next video, thanks for sharing this kit with us. 👍

      Unfortunately its the only game in town for its size, hey I'm a modeler and I plan to detail and correct it as much as possible. Thanks for watching and your kind words.

    • @taumoose6654
      @taumoose6654 2 роки тому

      I fully understand the arthritis issue. I have had to move up to 1/32 because 1/72 just too small. 1/48th is about as small as I can go.

    • @wwiiinplastic4712
      @wwiiinplastic4712 3 місяці тому

      I know it has been four years, but the HB FW190 has little detail because it is a scaled-up version of the 21st Century Toys release which was actually a toy with moveable flaps, wheels, etc.

    I would be interested to know what sort of glue you use to join the bits together .
    I have used some glue that squeezed out of the joints and spoilt the surface.
    I would like to use the proper stuff before I buy one Thanks for any info.

    I spend that much for a foam RC plane that I can actually fly. Sure there is not the same detail, I get that. I used to build a lot of plastic models. I can say this, I do detail out most of my RC planes as much as possible because at the end of the day, they just sit around looking cool. By adding details, an RC plane can look almost as good as a plastic model. I even add lighting to all my planes, even my plastic models. I love modeling period.

    I just saw this yesterday in Milwaukee! Three hundred bones! Not my usual scale, but I want one anyway! You said "kit instructions", did you actually mean "kit novel"? As for the wheels, you could just double up, you know, for soft field operations! Hopefully the top piece fits nicely so you can choose to leave it loose for interior viewing. (Don't know if that's an option in the instructions, but I'd do it.) That's a lot of work to simply cover up!

    We don’t need a 1/32 scale B-17. What we need is a modern molding in 1/48 scale of the B-17 and the B-24, B-26, B-29, etc. There are way, way more builders in at 1/48 scale than 1/32 scale and we're all stuck with 50 year old kits of those great planes. Come on man! You want to make some money?
