Hi there, I installed a sim card into my 2019 Porsche Cayenne so that passengers can have a wi-fi hot spot. But when they try to connect to the hot spot it just says "Unable to join the network". Are there any prerequisites that I am missing to get this working?
Update* There are a couple settings that can be found in the Device Manager in the PCM that will need to be enabled. First, make sure that the WI-FI is checked as on and that data roaming is on as well. From there it is recommended that you reset the vehicle’s WI-FI hotspot password to one of your own. After that you should be able to join the network. If you are located in the US, you have to register your sim & vin number with AT&T for 2018 and up vehicles for a free trial and It should unlock the function according to US forums. There isn’t a button to start or stop the engine from the app but you can preset the cabin temperature before you get in or precondition your check your Taycan battery before use.
If the car is 2017 and up 718 model and has an SD card slot and the car was optioned with Porsche Connect then you will be able to use the location feature. If it was not optioned then you won’t have this feature. Thank you for watching!

I need help. When hit the app button in my car it says I need a connection. I’ve taken my car to the dealer and they haven’t been able to get the installation vadaphone code to go through. But I should still be able to see apps if I hit my apps page
The app function found in our vehicles does not require a PCC Vodafone installation to work. Instead, it requires a My Porsche account with active Connect Services and a data connection in the vehicle. You can get a data connection by using the hotspot on your phone or by purchasing a sim card.

I wanna check my door and temperature and you know like remote systems through my phone to connect i make account and register already but it's still not working it's says pcm connection deactivate can you help me to connect please it's 2018 macan s
It may be possible that this particular car does not have Porsche Connect as it was an option item for this year. If you do have connect optioned but are getting an error on the phone then we would recommend scheduling an appointment with your local Porsche centre, The Porsche Connect app is set up when you bought the car from the dealer, but if not, you can schedule an appointment with a Porsche Pro and they can reactivate/connect the account.
