If you can pass my feedback onto relevant contacts you might have at Porsche, please do. Would be great if Porsche would offer the ability to move the steering wheel and pedals to the other side of the car on their configurator car builder for countries like mine who drive on the other side of the road. Also would love if Porsche could build the configurator directly into the My Porsche app in native iOS Swift programming language. The current web app configurator is not bad in its design, though it has some 3D rendering problems where it will lag a lot in 3D view, and other bugs, and even some quirks such as car colours being quite different in 2D view vs 3D view (interior leather colours and exterior paint; it can be tricky to know which are the more accurate colours), and crucially functions worse than native Swift code apps typically tend do. A car configurator native to iOS built into the My Porsche app would be awesome.
Hi @savedfaves, thank you for your comment and suggestions. As a Centre we don't really have much say at the level required for these changes, but i will feed this back to PCGB who may be able to pass this on. What i will say is the My Porsche App is constantly getting updated and a lot of features are getting ported over and added into the App to replace other areas. So i can see i time when you can configure a car in the App, but that's not to say its for definite. Also the configurator itself its getting lots of updates all the time. Thank you for your feedback.
Hi Ian. Unfortunately in regards to 718 there are not as many services available. We hope more will be coming in the future as PORSCHE rolls it out to more models.
Thanks for a nice informative video! Can I use the app to pre-cool the car, without having to continue a subscription to Porsche-Connect services please?
Hi @kdcyp thank you for your comment. The app functions are dependent on the vehicle linked to it. Some of the models in our range that were launched before the new My Porsche app, offer limited functionality, such as the 718 and Macan. To gain the most from these you will need to subscribe after the first 12 months. Where as the new Taycan, Macan EV, and Hybrids allow you to climatise the cabin remotely, see where your vehicle is, and vehicle data. This is free for a certain duration, and on some models free for 10 years. Can you confirm what model and year of Porsche it is?
Thanks for the informations ! When I set 'preferred charging period' 10 pm - 6 am, the charge starts generally only at 1 or 2 am. Is it possible to always start at 10 pm ?
Hi Alex, Thank you for your question. Ashley our Porsche Pro says that it depends whether you are using a home energy manager/third party charger. The preferred charge times is more for telling it when you would prefer it to charge between, when it starts depends on how much charge you need, what time you’ve set your charge profile/timer to be ready for, what you’ve set your minimum charge to, etc etc. To start it earlier her recommendation would be to shorten the preferred charging window, and utilise the charging timers also, but she would need to check the answers to all the other questions before committing to an answer, so the best thing is to give her a call on 01524911911 to discuss.
Thank you for your question. Yes the Cayenne E-Hybrid can use the Pre-Heating function from the My Porsche App as long as there is charge in the electric battery. This should be available from the E3 variant of Cayenne that came out in the UK in 2018.
Hello 00leapfrog, thank you for your comment. The best way to find a charger that works with your Porsche Charging Service is to use the map function on the My Porsche App. If you click on Map icon on the bottom of the homepage, then select the Charging Station Icon. You can then Filter on the right hand side to only show Ionity charging stations. These are all currently priced at £0.30/kWh for those using the Porsche Charging Service so are our recommendation. There are also Porsche Centres where you can use your Charging Card for a reduced rate, but we recommend calling ahead to confirm opening hours and availability, as not all of these are open 24hrs like ours here at Porsche Centre South Lakes.
With my Macan (2021) I still have “restricted view connect services inactive” and I am not getting a lot of sense from my dealer as they were supposed to have entered a new code after the first one failed due to not being installed in time! So I am not sure what I’m supposed to. I’ve asked my dealer to have another look at things but nobody has replied to me yet!
Hi @anstroth, thank you for your comment. Our Porsche Pro says that you probably need a new PCC code but to really find an answer we are best speaking with you. Could you please give our Porsche Pro Ashley or Joe a call on 01524911911 if you are in the UK and they can try and assist. If you are in another country, you are best speaking with someone within your country region.
Hi. Thank you for your kind offer but I have now finally got my dealer to book in the car for attention to the PCC and also another unrelated problem. Thanks again :)
I’m trying to combine a “preferred charging period” of 00:00 to 05:00 in profiles, with Timer to limit the maximum charging percentage to 85%, but this does not seem to work! As soon as I set the Timer to 85% battery, the charging pauses. Can someone please assist, many thanks?
Hi, thank you for your question. The profile can be used to set your preferred charging window and in here you can also set your minimum charge - this is the percentage you want the Taycan to charge to as failsafe. Once this minimum percentage is reached the charging will stop, then resume charging once its within your time window set in the profile. To limit the charge to 85% you would need to set a timer under the Timer tab, though this may conflict with your profile. The timer will only allow the charger to initiate charge so that at 85% is achieved at the time specified meaning the charger may turn on 1 hour or 10 hours before the time set depending how low the battery percentage is. Some people mainly use the profile, though don’t limit the max charge. This then means you can maximise your battery range at 100%. Charging to 100% on fast DC chargers over time can increase the wear on the battery. The slower the charge the better for battery health. Hope this helps.
Hi @kennpuhuxa thank you for your question. Yes the app does work with the 991.1, features like mileage, fuel level, tyre pressures, remote unlocking and location will be available. This is as long as you have purchased an active remote services subscription through Vodafone Automotive.
Hi @yeduruentertainment6002 thank you for your comment. The usual troubleshooting methods we would go through would be to log out on your phone, delete and redownload the app but don't log in just yet. Log in to your car (delete profile and reconnect) and then log in again on your phone. If these steps do not work then please feel free to contact our Porsche Pro on 01524911911.
Hi @TravelingonaBuddyPass, thank you for your comment and question regarding the My Porsche App. To add your Porsche to the app, you can speak with your supplying Porsche centre who can link the car to your My Porsche account. Otherwise you can do it via the desktop My Porsche site, where you can add the vehicle yourself but will need documentation as proof of ownership. If you need more help then please speak to your supplying dealer who should be able to help you.
Hi Paul. From our experience that sounds more like a phone issue rather than the app. We have many customers using the app, that stay logged in and that don’t have any issues with battery. You can feel free to log off whilst not using it though if that saves your battery, then please try it. Also make sure the app is up to date and that your phone specs high enough for what is required for the app.
Hi Sue, thank you for your message. This feature is only currently available on 911, Panamera, Cayenne & Taycan. 718 & Macan are still running the previous version so unfortunately do not yet have this feature.
Hi Sue. Does the symbol for the unlock and lock appear but is greyed out? If so and you click it, does it say car is in Privacy Mode? If this is the case then its a setting on the car that needs changing to allow remote access. If this doesn't apply, then please feel free to call our Centre and our Porsche Pro Ashley will try and assist.
Spending so much time on the Taycan feels like an attempt to sell an almost unsalable car. The day you drive one off the lot, its work 100 grand less than you paid. EV’s may be the future, just not the near future. The market is telling us the EV’s we will drive in the future are not here yet.

Hi @supanushan. Thank you for your message and sorry to hear that you are having issues. Can i ask if your Taycan is linked to your My Porsche App?
@@PorscheCentreSouthLakes yes it is, but my Porsche Connect service is not available. Do you need that to use the app?
