- The Comica CVM-VM30 shotgun mic is an incredible microphone that does one clever thing that no other shotgun has ever done, which is include wireless transmission INSIDE of the microphone itself.
This incredibly clever shift in capabilities of microphones lowers the barrier of entry for professional audio and I think that that's the best thing ever.

Lol how on earth do you not have like half a million subs yet? 😆 genuinely one of the first channels recently that raised my eyebrows when I saw you weren’t a larger channel. Good stuff bro 👍🏼
great question. tell your friends hah
He is good
Great video. Thank you. Convinced me to buy. :)
Hi, I'm choosing between deity s mic 2 and comica vm30. Is there a big difference apart from wireless ability?
Awesome video, dude. I've been considering switching from a handheld to either a lav or shotgun mic for my own channel, and this just convinced me to try out the CVM-VM30. I did the like and the sub and all that. Love the channel!
Your swagger level is insane. Also, I didn’t know this existed! Sick!
Appreciate the positivity man. Always feels good.
I know! So so clever. I’m still learning about how to balance the input gain and the output gain (as in, the gain on the mic and the gain on the receiver) but it’s absurdly clever and convenient.
Everyone always touches the audio anyway. Would be cool see how you could boost or clean it up. I am sure some compression and reverb and BOOOOOOOM
but the comparate is unfair... VM30 habe another conection and u can take this microphone to go outside with for exemple with your phone, with the at - 875r microphone no...
The mic @0:09 is a Audio-technica
This was a GREAT review. Not too long, no nonsense.
Great job! 👍
THANK YOU FOR GETTING STRAIGHT TO THE POINT no hate everyone gets into the nitty gritty like broooooo just tell me if it kicks ass or not, video delivered, like earned have a good day
Turned off video at the “belch”…..very poor choice.
gotta let the gas go.
Comica VM30 or Sennheiser MKE 600 for indie filmmaking?
This is great, man! You've convinced me to respond to Comica's email now haha
Yeah I did a bit of research and they have a LOT of products. Didn’t now that!
I organically discovered Comica when setting up my podcast studio and damn... I hope they stay that hidden gem so they don't start inflating their prices. Since The XD and XU are amazing wireless lav systems and the XD-2 Pros now add onboard recording a la Rode Wireless 2 and DJI. Though apparently DJI has the best implementation of that out of the three mentioned. RODE I couldn't figure out how to get it to work, Comica was easy to get working along with DJI.
I have Sonya6400 camera. What audio gain setting do you recommend?
I recommend setting it pretty low in-camera (between 5 and 10, say) and then adjust the gain on the mic to an acceptable level
@@the-creative-block Thank you very much for the quick reply.
I also saw somebody hook it up to a second camera with a little extra cabling so you had synced audio from 2 cameras. Now that is a cool capability!
thats super clever!
@DONUT merch for the win!
Thank you for your presentation.
Hey y'all. I just got the vm30 today and used it wirelessly with my Zoom H5 recorder. Depending on how I was holding the Zoom I was getting noticeable amounts of interference. Is there a work-around for this? Thanks.
I have the same mic but I want to connect the receiver to my iPhone using an adapter, but it won’t work… what can I do?
use the Apple-branded trrs to lightning cable.
Dope Video Bruh.

Great video! Question: What cable would you use to connect the Mic to Tascam Dr40x?
3.5mm with an xlr adapter
I can just plug any mic into my DJI Mic transmitter and make it wireless 😂
Yeah, but that’s kind of the point of the inbuilt transmitter. You don’t have to have something plugged into it.
Could you please tell me what gain you used while shooting? I have been trying to figure mine out and I can still hear the air conditioner through my video with the gain at 2. And i have it plugged in to my phone.
I’d suggest bringing the gain up and then decreasing the sensitivity in camera
Do not shoot with the AC on..
Great content bro, I really like this mic and trying to make up my mind on it
I recently ran into a use where the receiver won’t hold a charge.
daam bro, i am all the way in jamaica and i already ordered it , well it is what it is@@the-creative-block
You got to remember. 80% of people watching youtube , are doing it on a tablet, laptop, cell with stock speakers or a TV with a crappy soundbar. Not going to see a difference with out headphones on IMO.
True, but that’s not going to stop me from using fun, interesting gear. I still want to make great stuff with great gear.
wtf why would you burp during the review? man, this is so horrible and spoils the overall impression about your video. please do not
It's fun haha
@@the-creative-block yeah maybe, if you are an animal 🤢
My friends call me “The Disgusting Animal with a Poop Mouth” in our friend group.
@@the-creative-block Good luck with that. I just gave a professional advice :)
I appreciate the comment. But UA-cam isn’t a scoreboard. And it doesn’t have “right” or “wrong” ways. I’d ask that you see my method of content delivery as something that is just as valid as yours, even if you don’t like it. I don’t think that establishing dominance, establishing strength over another, or belittling an other creator is a productive method of community interactions.
But I appreciate the comment.
