I really like this channel, the style, the humour, Bunny, the music, and OF COURSE the content ;) Very unique.
You should have talked to the red bunny, who says: You could do even better! Add a tube exhaust fan below the main mirror, which increases your luck in lucky imaging, because it reduces tube and mirror seeing that never stops entirely, especially not if the night cools down, by sucking out warm air. And slightly stop down the main mirror edge with a ring (e.g. 3d printed) to hide the diffraction of the mirror clamps and the often not entirely perfect mirror edge. A few mm suffice, just check the halo of a bright star to see the difference.

Knowing nothing about star gazing I was absolutely enthralled by this video. The enthusiasm and tenacity of Astrobiscuit in getting these amazing images of that galaxy on a budget just had me riveted to the screen. Great work and hat's off to you.
That was brilliant! Good comparison at the end, the dark clouds in your capture looked even more detailed than Kitt Peaks! Wonder what bunny thinks? Great work as always 👍
Azza Johno: No it not looks more detailed, they look better while he has less light coming in, the prof picture is in my opinion over exposed , still the details and resolution are far better , and he stop the comparison in the right moment so you can't see his failure. Of course for the equipment he use it is an amazing Photo. And on his Photo the whole Galaxy is getting blurry and washed out so don't fool yourself.
@@powertothebauer296 focusing on the core of the image, the dark clouds in Astrobiscuit's image showed more detail than the other images and that was the focal point for the comparison. FWIW, as a Yank, Edmond Scientific (located in my home state of New Jersey) is primarily an optics company even though they have dabbled in all kinds of scientific stuff over the years. Their telescopes have always had very respectable mirrors and lenses, so it's no surprise that it turned out to be of excellent quality. BTW, the secondary reduces contrast and light gathering, not so much resolution which is more a function of the diameter of the primary.
All this for £700??? 🤔 I think if you added in all the man-hours, geekery and nerd-dollars of years of research and tinkery, the real cost is probably about £8m 😁👍 As a complete beginner, who has yet to buy a telescope, your videos are inspiring. I clicked "like" before I even watched. Glad I did. Loved it!
Man, I just sort of on happenstance took a long exposure photo of the sky on my smartphone and started looking into astrophotography. And now I'm taken on an absolute roller coaster with your videos, love it!
I was thinking about a bunch of people pooling data and imaging the same target to get big results a few weeks back! Really hope something comes of this.
mee too
The amount of excitement I felt when I saw the notification is unexplainable
Oh boi you know this is gonna be good. Music, humour, bUNNY?
I enjoyed this ep. Very Rory, even the upload was a mission.
Man this is amazing don't get demotivate if this doesn't get as many views as the Blue Lake video rather keep making and improving your content and eventually you will be pulling those kinds of numbers consistently. You content got me intrested in astronomy and the universe back again like I use to as a kid. It's really powerful. Don't stop making videos greatness lise ahead...
Your next level mickey mouseing skills coupled with knowledge, wit and mechanical wherewithal... and that reverse thermocouple heat remover is a pinnacle of sorts, is just the best Rory. Learning as we go too. Thanks a lot for the fun.
Filmmaking and storytelling so good made me watch a long video about a topic a couldn't care less. I'm impressed.
Yes yes yes. Another absolutely amazing video! Pat yourself on the back, fella!
thx reece👍
Rory, this was a great idea. No one knows how much work goes into taking astrophotos. It's tough! You chose a good topic for demonstration. You almost make it look easy! Hah! It's not. So much patience, so much tweaking. A good story idea, executed with panache! Bravo!
This was very good. Could have mistaken it for being on the TV.
Knowing nothing about star gazing I was absolutely enthralled by this video. The enthusiasm and tenacity of Astrobiscuit in getting these amazing images of that galaxy on a budget just had me riveted to the screen. Great work and hat's off to you.
cool, i likes it when non nerds enjoy the vid
Saturday night, with the popcorn ready? Astrobiscuit must have uploaded :D
hey helena hope you likes it😁
Absolutely amazing production, this is the most watchable thing I’ve seen for a long time , you make this so engaging
That was brilliant! Good comparison at the end, the dark clouds in your capture looked even more detailed than Kitt Peaks! Wonder what bunny thinks?
Great work as always 👍
bunny is obsessed with chess and the moment and doesn't give a carrot
Azza Johno: No it not looks more detailed, they look better while he has less light coming in, the prof picture is in my opinion over exposed , still the details and resolution are far better , and he stop the comparison in the right moment so you can't see his failure. Of course for the equipment he use it is an amazing Photo. And on his Photo the whole Galaxy is getting blurry and washed out so don't fool yourself.
@@powertothebauer296 focusing on the core of the image, the dark clouds in Astrobiscuit's image showed more detail than the other images and that was the focal point for the comparison.
I do agree that overall Kitt Peaks image is an incredible spectacle and truly amazing but as an Astrobiscuit fan, do agree with Rory that his lucky imaging technique resulted in an astonishingly good outcome.
Was an all round excellent video, both entertaining and exciting!
Best in the UA-cam business, we want to see you at 1 million subscribers
Love ur videos very entertaining
Just a little over a week ago found this channel looking to get started on astronomy as a hobby but watching this videos seems way more fun entertaining. I love the sense of humour.
Them getting p*ssed at you cutting down the telescope made me lmao
Me too!!
A huge respect. Your videos are so addicting and the quality rivals almost all of the other quality shows in the internet. This channel needs more subs and likes.
Addictive* I'm not being pedantic but you know what to write next time if you use that word again 😁👍
8“ Newtonian, near Lisbon in Portugal will join, but before that I‘ll need to finish the custom made eq mount :)
50 seconds in and absolutely loving it...especially with the beats..how has YT not run this past me till now
I will go to exam and then I will come and watch AstroBiscuit WHAT A WONDERFULL DAY!!
Good luck.
How did it go?
@@donochetti2177 I Passed the Exam 😃

FWIW, as a Yank, Edmond Scientific (located in my home state of New Jersey) is primarily an optics company even though they have dabbled in all kinds of scientific stuff over the years. Their telescopes have always had very respectable mirrors and lenses, so it's no surprise that it turned out to be of excellent quality.
BTW, the secondary reduces contrast and light gathering, not so much resolution which is more a function of the diameter of the primary.
All this for £700??? 🤔
I think if you added in all the man-hours, geekery and nerd-dollars of years of research and tinkery, the real cost is probably about £8m 😁👍
As a complete beginner, who has yet to buy a telescope, your videos are inspiring. No way I'll get close to what you achieve for the same money, it's a marathon not a sprint 🤓👍
Thanks again and looking forward to the follow up and collaboration with the rest of the community
🖖🧐
yeh I'm about 8million in debt now!!!! thx bud
@@Astrobiscuit When you come to sell it, as it's second hand and old, I'll give you £500 for the lot 😋👍
@@Astrobiscuit what would mrs biscuit say... PS: love your content, and the thing with the women is everywhere quite the same :)
@@Astrobiscuit luckily the future generations of buscuits will take care of that debt over time! 😂
Again, storytelling and production are top level!
Also, very nice project!
This is Amazing!! Love the image, There are More Stars Resolved in the big Telescope and More Clarity! But I still like it!! Very well Done!!👍🏻🌌

This masterpiece deserves more views!!
Excellent Video - will look to see how I can help with the community telescope
thx bud most appreciated 👍
This man’s so fascinating and no homo but your voice is very calming. I’ve been having a shitty week since my surgery last Thursday having to call out of work and this has made me feel way better! That’s me brother!! Keep up the amazing work.
