Hey Rusty. Just found your videos today. Your doing a great job brother. Keep doing the brilliant work you do. I'm off to binge on your videos .
P.s: Heard from several Copart buyers that they've seen a number of cut and shunt cars up for auction over the past 3-4 years. Those cars can be seriously dangerous there is one point at when fixing the car goes a bit too far. But when the car can become a cause of a fatal wreak because of ridiculous so called repairs. Those cars need to be pulled from auction and crushed immediately not left for some unsuspecting buyer who thinks they've got a good deal. And wreck it 5 mins after they get it home . Copart need to take some responsibility for the cars their auctioning .

No agree. How do you check transmission, engine, diffs on cars where parts already was replaced before auction? You can see only body damage but most of those cars selling with high mileage so there always problems with drive trains. Fixed check light is typical scam on Copart. Fixed severe damage to look like fender bender is typical scam on Copart. Bid wars involving their own dealers to get the most out of public buyers is typical practice at Copart. "Lost" keys, electric devices, any expensive pieces is typical practice at Copart. And any other public auction.

This is called life, i bet you can get more frequently scammed on the pre-owned market than on copart, as you keep buying and rebuilding cars you start to get more experience on the damages, the repair costs, the amount of work it will need, and how much you should bid on a certain vehicle, i have bought 5 different cars from copart all sight unseen and i have done wonderful, but you need to do a lot of research and have the will to work on cars to get the best deal possible, the most important advice i can give is that you should always bid according to the worst case scenario the vehicle could have (bad engine, bad transmission, bad frame, all this depending on the scenario), this way its impossible to take a loss cause you already calculated the worst that could happen, it's really easy, if you're interested in giving copart a try just do your first bidding on a cheap car so you familiarize with the process of buying a car, and if you do wrong you could move on without any worries ( even if you lose a couple hundreds the knowledge and the experience you get is way more valuable, hope this helps someone!

I don’t like how the pictures don’t show the actual damage/issues... sometimes they are taken in the dark or the pictures of the damage is taken sideways... I recently bought a car I thought would only need door replacements from the pictures but soon realized after the purchase that the pillar would need to be replaced.. for the comments as to not buy cars unseen great advice but I can almost guarantee most of the people who buy cars from this auction never seen the car in person.. my reason I’ve got a little one I can’t take in the yard so I rely on pictures. I’ve witnessed pictures taken from the passenger side now by doing this you won’t see the rips in the seat or the extremely dirty carpet.. So just take all of this into consideration when placing a bid... I also don’t like the fact that the pictures won’t show if a car has a check engine light on or not.. All these factors come into play when purchasing any car but the pictures these guys take definitely HIDE things... I thought you were gonna touch base on these kind of issues but still enjoyed the video very knowledgeable nonetheless. Keep em coming bro.

If you buy a car on the internet, without inspecting it... you have to factor in the risk of a scam or unseen problems when you make your bid. If you really need a particular car, and can't take the risk of being scammed, then GO INSPECT THE CAR PERSONALLY. This way, you can be sure of what the car is worth to you, instead of gambling.

I buy some pretty nice cars from a local tow yard auction that are clean title and run & drive perfectly and they told me a lot of cars are people that get in trouble in car and go to jail. Then fees pile up and they file to take possession of car after like 30 days and auction them off. I always tell people to check out Autura Markeplace and see if there's any near them. Bought a 2013 Audi A7 with minimal scratches & dents that needed a new ECU and Body Control module since someone swiped them. Runs perfectly now with 86k miles and got it for $3,400. Also, found a 2009 Chevy Cobalt for my father-in law. Bought for less that 1k with fees and needed to be cleaned and clear coat has failed on a few panels. So bottom line, if I were to buy a salvage car through Copart either on my own (if poss) or if by going through a broker, I will also incur the Sales Tax on Copart Salvage Car??? I get so PISSED off when people put up Copart Scam videos. In the video he says someone/dealer did this and that. It was a dealer NOT Copart. This guy buys from Copart, so if there is such scam why does he buy from them. I have been a dealer for 18 years have been buying 95% of my inventory from Copart over the last 10 years, and I make a good living doing it.
My advice don't buy salvage cars, they worth 25% less do to salvage. If you do by salvage be prepared to get what you get. If you don't have skill, money, or shop to fix it DON'T buy it. Paying to get the work done will not be worth it. Plus turn around time on your money is going to be much longer after state inspections and repairs. There plenty of clean title, fleet, charity and rental vehicles to choose from.
Do your homework, go inspect, buy one of Coparts reports for $35.00, run a car fax that will tell allot. In some cases you can get approximate miles on the non running, no mileage units from carfax reports. Evaluate the numbers make sure the deal works, and be a car dealer not a car gambler. It takes allot of careful searching to find the gems but it very doable.
And yes they should kick you out !!

Only a fool would buy any vehicle without personally inspecting it. These are salvage auctions. The insurance vehicles there are there because the cost to repair them exceeds the value of the vehicle. It used to be only salvage yards bought these pigs to strip off the good parts and crush the rest. just remember insurance companies are not in business to lose money. If it were worth repairing they would have done it themselves. REMEMBER These auction places are just a clearing house for the insurance companies.

Most of the people who buy these cars dont inspect them a lot of them are in different countries and other states and they can write off a car just for the hell of it sometimes the owner dont want the car and they write it off sometimes the body shop greedy and charging too much and they do lose money on some cars thats facts they make enough of policyholders

Copart is a giant scam these days. I'm hearing about performance cars with hunk engines in them where someone buys a copart car, pulls out the good engines and puts a junk engine back in and sells it though copart again. There are people buying totaled cars, roughly fix them and flip then again at copart just like you say.

Yo man, you're telling thigs we all already know. We know that some cars are in bad condition and we're all prepared when bidding in copart and iaai. Thing is that in some countries it is way too cheap to rebuild some of these cars and it's a deal to buy one from the US and import it in your country.

Is there something that is possibly to do about it?
    Thanks.

Google vin before you bid. Go to BIDFAX.INFO and enter IAAI or COPART lot # to see what it sold for. I am surprised they let you in there because you could disable vehicle from starting and then the car sells for less on auction day.

So . How is copart a scam. Copart simply does a minimal inspection an post the cars for sale. In order for copart to be a scam they would have to knowingly cover the damage up an then sell. They dont do that ?

Semi-auto in glovebox..........."random weapon in there." Glanced over that one quickly.........owner must have made a fast exit and is probably just now remembering. If you wonder about Copart being a scam, just read Yelp reviews about local lots or read local BBB reviews/complaints. Not a picture of an honest business. Add to that the transports and brokers they recommend.

COPART = Cars ONLY for Parts
    '
Don't go there looking to get something to flip. The odds are against you. If you need a bunch of parts (engine, transmission, wheels, etc.) then it might be for you. If you win the auction and then you get an email/call about not meeting a reserve - just walk away. My two cents.
