- This is the second video on the Apple Macintosh IIvx from 1992.
In this video, the Macintosh IIvx from 1992 will be started up to demonstrate the Macintosh System(MacOS) 7.6.
The games "Where In The Word is Carmen Sandiego?" and "Oxyd" will also be demonstrated.
When i was younger in the back of computer magazines there were ads for places that would sell old apple hardware and i got an macintosh IIcx with monitor and keyboard and mouse for like $100. I was going to get an se for like $90 and they offered the package for the iicx for ten bucks more so I took it. I wish they still sold vintage hardware like that for those prices.
Quadra 700 please :)
Keep up the awesome work. I came (working) age as a Graphic Designer in the early 90s. These videos really take me back!
That chief from Carmen Sandiego looks rather familiar. I think that's the same one that was on the series on PBS with that one game show host, trying to remember his name now. Far too long since I've watched that one.
If you're talking about the chief, her name is Lynne Thigpen, and she is surely missed.
Nope, you did not get that last game.
Oh man, I almost fell out of my chair at Oxyd. That game is an unappreciated classic, so few people even know it exists. It's like Marble Madness had a child with a puzzle game.
Something really cool to check out, if you like this sort of game: There's a modern, free and open source game called Enigma that is basically an Oxyd clone. It plays well, and is on OS X, Windows and Linux. www.nongnu.org/enigma/
GravianS Thanks for the tip - I will check that out!
+Jason's Macintosh Museum This game uses SDL 1.2, so I guess maybe theoretically it might even be possible to compile that under the classic Mac OSes :-)
Cool vid!! Keep up the good work
bates d1123 Thank you! There are many more models of Mac to cover, so there will be many more videos!
