We don't want our kids to be successful. We want them to survive and be happy. We want to seem successful because its the insecurity we grew up with. We just want to walk around not having to compensate our insecurities with "success"
Its all illusion. We want love and peace and happiness and we seek it in everything except in facing ourselves and our "downs".
Sometimes what we think is bad or not appropriate is just a lie told by society for an ancient reason when someone tried to create a system for their little plan. Now we live in so limted minds. Its scary.
My parents are disappointed in me because I couldn't be as good as my classmates. But me telling everything I learned in my life. How I grew up.... how happy I am. How I got over my depression... doesn't matter as much as my broken promises of will be learning this and that and becoming rich. Promises which I gave only to make them calmer... and make them trust in me a little... I was afraid and gave promises to feel better.... but they should have taught me to be real and not hide behind material success... real strength comes from understanding the roots of your problem.
But in the end of the day I can't blame them for what they didn't know

Thank you so much! I know you give great help, are there some books about puberrtty, pre puberty? This is a strange stage right now and no one says much about what is going on (with boys) in pre puberty I am completely lost, I thought I read all the books and prepared but I am a mess, I don't know what to do, everything is overwhelming. And they say it gets easier, as they grow, is never easy. Big kids big problems, small kids, small problems. You are soo right about showing up, they simply start talking and opening to me when I am most silent, just simply coming to them, sitting right next to them, no questions asked... Is hard becauee I tend to talk a lot and all 3 boys also love to talk, I am not sure I am giving them the suffiecient emotional support We are big loud family....How does that affect the kids? it can have negative impact, i think, we really try but we are..how we are

Why not give kids books instead? it won't be a direct parenting advice, but something to provide for their literature and imaginative education while young such educational books, although the fun factor may be low, you have options to have it tailor made into their own *personalised childrens books* to make it more interesting, engaging and fun.
