As someone who is very blunt, it’s great to learn how to say things in a way that doesn’t ruffle feathers - even when I don’t mean to.

I wish I’d heard this before my difficult conversation last month. I tend to be too 🤔 compassionate and end up losing my way when I hear their point of view. That’s a nice quality, but so often I lose my own voice 😣

How do you handle delivering bad news to a person with strong narcissistic tendencies (covert)? All of this sounds great for a typical relationship. In a narcissistic relationship all vulnerability and expression of feelings/emotion/ or acknowledgement of the negative impact of their actions are used against you. In my case we have to coparent 4 kids going forward in divorce proceedings.

I wanted to say thank you.
Using this template, along with tips from a number of your shorts videos, enabled me to have a very difficult conversation with my husband last night that I have been putting off for some time.
Leading with, “I need your help in knowing how to feel about something that happened awhile back …” was an absolute game changer in setting the tone and intent for how we proceeded. Even though I was the one hurting and struggling, I took your advice and went into it curious, having something to learn, not something to prove. Throughout I kept reminding myself to focus more on finding and asking the right questions than looking and waiting for the right answers.
It could not have gone better. My husband even thanked me for broaching him about it, when I asked at the end, “So how about you?”
I’ve watched and saved your material for sometime, but last night taught me that the real power is in using it.
Thank you for putting material out there that is pragmatic, helpful, and efficacious.
    Take care -

Yes! How to respond to an unexpected narcissistic-type phone call with a sibling 😮. I was blind-sighted and completely shocked and in the moment responded poorly (got defensive, of course). In hindsight I would've remained calm & gotten curious (where is this coming from?) 🤔 while maintaining my own health boundaries (at the end of the day, we can only control ourselves). The good news is ... Next time I'll be more prepared.

Your advice not only indicates your intelligence, but also that you have the insight and experience to have developed wisdom and compassion. Those two abilities don't always accompany intelligence.
