Very comprehensive video, made the install easy. For anyone concerned about not being able to find the plug for the new switch that’s supposed to be taped to the lighting knob wires - check behind the driver footwell speaker. Some Gladiators have that harness taped there for some reason. If you have a Tazer and an outlet on the rear of the center console, your Gladiator DOES have this capability
i can't find my plug. is it because mine is a sport edition or i just can't seem to find it. is it behind the speaker housing or within the housing but behind the speaker?
Hello Tyler. Stumbled upon this video for this install which I was planning on doing to my Gladiator. Phenomenal video, really shows what is necessary to get the system installed and was essential for my installation to go so smoothly! Something I found on my install: when I was replacing the dash bezel with the new button provision, I struggled to find the wiring for the actual button itself. Mine was not just taped to my light wiring. I had to uninstall a small antenna, a few more screws to flex the main dash plastic, and the speaker just below the steering wheel. After pulling it out slightly, I could wrangle my hand into the dash a little further to find the wire hardness tucked behind that speaker. It was just barely visible when I had everything apart so I felt confident to take a few more things apart to get at it. Hopefully anyone attempting this install that has this similar issue as well will find this helpful!
Tyler, thank you very much. I came upon the same problem. In my case I thought my gladiator did not come with the with hardness or the inverter. But I will check tomorrow and take a much closer look as you explained. Hopefully it is there as you said. Thank you both. Next project will be to add usb port in the back seat.
Got it all done then moved to the inside. Couldn’t find the new plug! Started getting hot and had to go get kids so buttoned it back up THEN saw the comment it may be by the speaker. Tomorrow’s project to take it apart again and look for it there. Great video and comments!

I am under my jeep and i cannot find the plug you connect to with new hardness. I have a 2021 Gladiator Rubicon and I do have the inside 110V outlet as you mention. Hey Brian check out the 8:00 mark going forward the harness I show on the ground replaces the one I show behind the right rear wheel I show. Everything is the same with it besides the additional plug sticking out of the wire loom. Hope this clarifies it.
IF YOU CANT FIND THE FACTORY PIG TAIL WHICH IS TAPED TO THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH HARNESS IN THE VIDEO ------ IT IS FURTHER DOWN THE SAME LINE TAPED UP BEHIND THE DRIVER FOOT SPEAKER BOX. (23 RUBICON DIESEL) NOTE: I have also seen several comments that you need to have the 240 alternator (tow package and/or cold weather package and/or diesel and/or aux switch group) in order to have this pigtail come from the factory. I can not confirm or deny this. If your truck has an inverter for the back seats, it should have the factory pigtail. I found the harness using the steps below: 1. Remove the speaker box screws. (Not the speaker itself) 2. Wiggle the box around to determine which screws you will need to remove in the dash to allow you to rotate the speaker box (CAUTION: the speaker box has the SGW (security gateway) and corresponding wires attached to it. do not yank) 3. Rotate the speaker box to reveal the outlet switch harness taped to the headlight wiring. 4. you will still need to use some long needle nose plyers to grab the harness Also for a Diesel and/or a rubicon - the installation of the wiring harness under the bed can take a considerable amount of time due to the rear rock sliders and passenger side exhaust exit.
I believe it needs to be running. This was installed for a friend so I can't verify that. I'd imagine whatever the current plug is would hold true for this one in the rear
Wait, the harness is just sitting behind that driver's side panel whether you have the actual outlet in the bed or not? I always assumed this install would be a massive pain in the ass of having to run wires to the battery and whatnot. This looked pretty painless.
Thank you for your videos. Do you have to have the Tazer Mini Plugged all the time? Or just for the install and remove it afterwards when everything is good to go?
Hey Tyler, I really like those Jeep Gladiators, I've had my eye on them for a while. How do you like it? You are braver than me doing that! LOL, I would end up with a bucket of leftover parts. Great step-by-step video.

NOTE: I have also seen several comments that you need to have the 240 alternator (tow package and/or cold weather package and/or diesel and/or aux switch group) in order to have this pigtail come from the factory. I can not confirm or deny this. If your truck has an inverter for the back seats, it should have the factory pigtail. I found the harness using the steps below:
1. Remove the speaker box screws. (Not the speaker itself)
2. Wiggle the box around to determine which screws you will need to remove in the dash to allow you to rotate the speaker box (CAUTION: the speaker box has the SGW (security gateway) and corresponding wires attached to it. do not yank)
3. Rotate the speaker box to reveal the outlet switch harness taped to the headlight wiring.
4. you will still need to use some long needle nose plyers to grab the harness
Also for a Diesel and/or a rubicon - the installation of the wiring harness under the bed can take a considerable amount of time due to the rear rock sliders and passenger side exhaust exit.
Great video
Thanks!
do you still get power when the jeep is off?
I believe it needs to be running. This was installed for a friend so I can't verify that. I'd imagine whatever the current plug is would hold true for this one in the rear
How much is the total kit. I have a 2020 gladiator
There wasn't a kit at the time purchased. All the part numbers are in the description.
Wait, the harness is just sitting behind that driver's side panel whether you have the actual outlet in the bed or not? I always assumed this install would be a massive pain in the ass of having to run wires to the battery and whatnot. This looked pretty painless.
Haha yeah they're all already run for you! Makes the install quite easy actually. More time was spent filming then installing haha
@@Tyler_Koehn Well damn dude, that's awesome. Thanks for the good info!
@@Jackal_Blitz your welcome Lucas!
Thank you for your videos.
Do you have to have the Tazer Mini Plugged all the time?
Or just for the install and remove it afterwards when everything is good to go?
Hi Sopheap, This actually is my buddies jeep but I know he keeps it plugged in all of the time.
Hey Tyler, I really like those Jeep Gladiators, I've had my eye on them for a while. How do you like it? You are braver than me doing that! LOL, I would end up with a bucket of leftover parts. Great step-by-step video.
They are definitely nice vehicles. They can be ordered as pretty capable off road vehicles right from the factory. Haha at least this install was all plug and play. Thanks for tuning in John!
Hi Tyler, how much watt and amp the rear plug in provides?
Hi Ben, it's 400 watts.
Where can I order parts
These were purchased through the local dealer here but they are available online.
Part numbers are in the description of the video
@@Tyler_Koehn thank you
Just a question: what for do you use it?
This is my buddy's jeep as I mentioned in the video. He uses it for primarily while camping.
I’m sorry, I don’t see the parts list, can you reply to my comment with the list? The mobile version of UA-cam isn’t very user friendly at times.

Hi Tyler, what would be the parts numbers for this build?
Hey Chris, I've got them all listed in the description of the video for you
oh, sorry. Did not see that. This kind of projects could affect the vehicle warranty?
@@chrisalva9968 No problem, would have to consult a dealer on that question.
Tyler, soory to bather you but do yo know if a mopar blind spot monitoring can be add to the gladiator by buying the sensors, cables and side mirrors only?
@@chrisalva9968 Hey Chris, no worries I just wish I could be more of a help but I haven't read anything about being able to make that modification. The one in this video has the blind spot sensors already.
Awesome video! Im doing this as well, but I cannot find anyone who has that switch panel in stock!. I have everything else so just waiting on that. Do you know where yall received that one from?.
Thanks 217cav! He got the parts from "all mopar parts" I typed the part number into Google and found a few places that are showing they have it. If you'd want to give that a shot I have the p/n in the description. Thanks for watching
Is there one part number for the kit, or did you have to order everything separate ? Thanks
Had to get everything separate unfortunately. Part numbers are in the video description.

@@cbartek63 your welcome!
Hi Tyler, great informative video. Was wondering, how can you tell if you have the interior inverter?
Thanks Martin! If you have a 115v outlet inside your cab you should be set!
Tyler I have a 2021 Gladiator Overland with the power outlet in the rear cab for passengers. I don’t however have 1 in the front (instrument panel). Do you think I should be good ? I think I am my Gladiator is pretty much very well equipped.
@@firemanprice I would think so since you have the inverter.
@@Tyler_Koehn Now that I think about it I did see the inverter when I installed my JL Tazer.
@@firemanprice Hey Tony, I have the rubicon with the plug in the back and not in the front like yours. Did you end up doing this and it working?
Thanks for the video! How much is all the OEM parts?
Your welcome. Worked out to be $230. Thanks for watching!
Will the dealership void your warranty if you set everything up and then go ask them to flag your ECM?
Wish I could help but I'm not sure. I would recommend reaching out to your local dealership and anonymously ask.
how much did that cost??
At the time it was ~$230
thanks for sharing this was great
Thanks for tuning in!
Hi Tyler, Great install. I have a 2021 Mojave and was just looking into doing the same upgrade. Are all Gladiators pre wired with the inverter to install the outlet. I understand I need the parts and correct harness for the plug, just not sure if there is a way to verify that my install would be as straight forward as yours without pulling the dash apart to confirm the plug is there for the 115v switch on the dash. Thanks so much for the tutorial. Great job! Best, James
Thanks James! Unfortunately I could not guarantee it but my buddy who owns the vehicle didn't doubt he had it at all so I would imagine they all do based on his research as long as you have the inverter. Thanks for watching and good luck with yours!
They are not. I have been trying get to get this done for a year. Unless you have the higher rated 240 v alternator.
@@sharrollsmith8302 I have the power outlet in my rear passage seat-but how do I know I have the larger alternator?
@@559Raider I’m no expert but I believe you should have the 240 Alt if you have either of the following option….Tow package or Aux switches
@@crmnl1333 I have the 220 alternator and the wiring harness after taking apart the dash isnt there
Does every gladiator have this capability?
From what I understand as long as it has the outlet inside the cab.
This is going to sound like a dumb quesiton but how do I order the non-Amazon Jeep parts.
Easiest way would just be copy the part numbers from the description and paste them into Google
Subscribed!
Thanks Marc!
This is a great video! What was the total cost of parts and how long to do the install?
Thank you! bout $230 for everything. About 1.5hrs never having done it or seen instructions before
@@Tyler_Koehn I am looking to overland my gladiator once I retire from the Delaware Army Guard. When I bought my truck I just got it as is. I didn’t know I could upgrade items. The bed outlet would be perfect for a small fridge. I plan on bringing a 8ga power to the bed for a ARB compressor. Thanks for the detailed video!
@@victorconsiglio3467 The gladiator will make a great overland vehicle! No problem thanks for watching!
Hey Tyler, do you have any other social media?
Hey Stanley. I haven't created any at this point. Just this youtube channel besides personal accounts.
You'd think each panel/bezel could be removed on its own. But no.
I hear ya! gotta take apart everything!
My connector was buried deep behind the speaker box. The only way to get to it was to remove the speaker box. Here is an excellent video on the process. Thanks to all!
ua-cam.com/video/iufaqab2QaU/v-deo.html
Terrified of breaking something when I remove those trim pieces.
Especially on such a pricey truck!
These parts are COMPLETELY gone now. I’ve tried desperately to order them from everywhere
Ohh no! Must be becoming a popular modification! Seems like everyone is short on parts lately!
@@Tyler_Koehn yes it sucks, especially when you have a Rubicon with everything EXCEPT this....which is silly. I don’t get why they just didn’t add it in, since the vehicle has the inverter already installed.
@@Tyler_Koehn and I just realized you have an old Honda 3 wheeler as your pic, a Kubota Tractor in the background....and a Gladiator. If you have a safe full of guns similar to mine, and a few vintage Jeeps on your property, we might be related LOL
@@JackOSUrulz yeah I don't get it either. I suppose they want to leave room to upsell it even more. Funny thing is based on the comments I've got most people weren't informed it was even a option otherwise they would have done it from the factory.
@@JackOSUrulz Haha, well the gladiator's a buddies truck. Just did the install for him since I'm sure others would like to know how to install one but yea the other boxes are checked lmao!
What an incredible pain in the ass! Just buy a Jackery. No way this is worth all the effort!
You can absolutely do just that!
Waste of money. Crap set up
Thanks for watching
Does this fit all gladiators? I have a 2021 with factory inverter in the back seat
Same year as the one in the video, so you should be good
