I was thinking about the 12V socket and a USB socket as well. Do you think they could be stacked one over the other within that plastic panel? Seems like maaaaaybe. Thanks for the detailed info!
Yeah, I think I said 14 gauge in the video, but I used 12 gauge. I always recommend to people to just look up your max voltage, amperage, and wire length in a wiring chart to see the minimum gauge required for their application. It's been a couple of years now since I installed that 12v socket and it's still working great! I primarily use it to power a fridge when I'm camping and to charge a portable power station and other random devices.
Yes, it could drain your battery if you use too much power while the truck is off. I primarily use my setup to power a fridge that has a built in voltage monitor so it will shut off the fridge automatically before the battery voltage gets too low.
@@jmhcj5 I’ve went to a power supply while at campsite and use the 12v to run the fridge on the way there or when driving around to another location. Works great thanks for the video!
Thanks for the instructional vid. I just wired my Gladiator up.👍🏼
Thank you. Answered my questions perfectly.
That is called 12V duplex wire. Good stuff.

I think there would be enough room to squeeze in a USB above or below a round 12v socket in that plastic panel.
I think a 10-12 gauge is better how is it working out for you?

Could this kill your battery since it’s all time hot ?
