The member who rode it was Japanese legend Kunimitsu Takahashi.
He passed away recently, but he was a master who was active in Honda's early WGP when he was young.
After switching to car racing, he is famous for his success in Nissan in Japan.
One of the R32GTR's victories in All Japan Group A was with Keiichi Tsuchiya, who later ran the NSX at Le Mans with the same combination.
Takahashi barely won anything. He's known for inventing drifting.

She’s one of the few driver reporters who really looks like a genuinely excited (and terrified) 10 year old kid driving dads car down the street at 3am in the morning whilst everyone’s asleep 😂 I feel like I’ve driven cars with her, her nervous patter is both informative and entertaining, she’s unique.

@@ericcindycrowder7482 Aldo was a pretty decent driver, almost on par with his twin Mario. Then he was badly injured in a dirt track race and quit racing while Mario went on the great things.

There's also a street legal 962 in Japan but only this video showcases how physical it is to drive them. No sugar coating, just motorsport excitement.
The 962 in Japan is not actually an original. From memory it was built from spare parts. This thing though is just so cool!

There are also the Dauer 962 road cars which were converted from 962 race cars.
It makes me wonder what other car drivers think when they see that coming down the road towards them. "Have I taken a wrong turn onto a race track?" It looks very snug, but very exiting.

Absolute Bonkers! Might get just a bit of attention in Sainsburys car park ! I suppose you could build a small trailer complete with downforce spoiler to carry the shopping! Joking aside wonderful experience of a video. It reminds me of a Motorsport article In the 1970s when one of the scribes, I think it was C.R ; drove an open sports racer on the road in similar vain , got stopped by the police who he had to convince it was actually road legal ……well it’s like this officer….., keep them coming , Jodie

It's surreal seeing this 962 mixing it up with regular cars in traffic - like a video game brought to life! I'm also struck by how compact race cars like this are... their diminutive size is much more apparent when there are "normal" vehicles nearby to provide a sense of scale.
Your energy and enthusiasm are just sooo engaging. You really brought to life what it feels like to drive an uncompromising true race car on the road, without the usual bravado and cliches of other channels. Please keep seeking out these special cars and bringing them to life for us.

Seeing how much you're being shaken about inside it tells us how hard it's sprung more then words can, and the sound, hats off to you and your team for getting audio clear enough to hear you through the race car cacophony!

This version, but in Dauer “street livery” in yellow was/is my all time favourite car….ever!!! They called it “The Road Car That Won Lemans”. The Dauer interior is to-die for…….A real street-legal car with 750hp and leather interior everything. Great video girl!!
You are such a badass and you find the coolest cars. I love how you explain how it is to physically drive a car like this. The hard pedals and steering wheel, the heat, the gear shifter where you have to go into second to get into first, the lack of fresh air vents etc I have seen a million car reviews, but it is so often about how precise the steering is or the sound of the engine. You are much better at communicating how it actually is to drive this car. Love your channel.

Possibly the best group C car ever, and such a beautiful design! I've seen this car, and many other 962's and they always take my breath away just looking at them. Probably the biggest reason I bought my SL-C, just seeing it in the garage makes me appreciate automotive art/design... and the 962 might just be the pinnacle of that (IMO)! Congrats on getting seat time in one, that's something very few will ever get the honor of doing!

Seems a strange thing to comment on, I know, but it's a pleasure to watch something on a car like this with the audio so well-sorted. Usually in track-biased stuff the presenter is yelling and screaming, but Ms. Kidd is relaxed and composed. So good!

WOW! I love these. You're so very lucky. I remember when these were still racing back in the 80's and early 90's. In the late 90's a few companies like Dauer, Koenig, and Schuppan made road going versions. My favorite liveries are the Rothman's and Leyton House. Thank you.

Jodie, paint me green with envy. I'm soooooooo jealous as that is one absoulte awesome car. Should have been in Germany driving it on the autobahns so you could give it some more beans. The one in Japan is not original I believe.
I had a friend that had a street-legal 935 race car. He took my dad for a spin up the Columbia George at ludicrous speeds. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if Vasek's car was street legal or not. In the '80s, you could get away with a lot.
This 962 is insane. 5:15 Don't hit 4 on the Getriebe switch, that's for when you want to go to plaid.
