Shannon! I’m so glad you made this cute show! I am like your mom! I will buy two different sizes. I love the questions you asked your mom! I answered them in my mind too! I love that your mom lost some weight that is always fun! What a cute relationship you have with her!! Love you two! ❤❤❤
I love watching the interactions. My mom and I have the same type of relationship and she is funny and cheerful like your mom. I love it if people say I’m like her.
Looks like Mom has been truly bitten by the decluttering bug! She has made so much progress. It helps having a minimal daughter. Kudos to you Mom! Great job! 👍🏻
As always, you and your mom working together on her home and clothes are the best! Part of me wishes she had been a REAL hoarder who has seen the light so we could see even more of you two!
As others have been commenting, I, too, love it when you and your mom are together. I’m in your mom’s age group and always love seeing how she’s dressed and how her hair is styled. 😊 She is so stylish and, yet, casual and real. Re this video: right on target for me today. I’m getting into my bra drawer and getting rid of the ‘good’ ones that were expensive but I haven’t worn because they ‘hurt.’ Thank you, thank you, thank you - because today you’ve given me permission to be reasonable with myself. ❤
Some of the donation places will take worn out and stained clothes and cut them into rags for use as one use shop rags that clean up grease and shavings, plumbers' rags, etc. I do that for our farm shop.
You two crack me up! When your mom said short-shorts and you held them up and they unfolded into knee pants, I was relieved they didn't unfold a third time into capris, or a fourth time into high-waters.
That so resonates with me about holding on to things that don't work for me and then telling myself that I don't need anything else (that would work better for me.)
You two are really inspiring! Glad to see the progress your mom has made in her mindset with stuff. She exudes joy and seems to be loving life with less stuff.
Hi Shannon’s Mom! Yes, it did help. I purged part of my underwear drawer in minutes! And, I hear you about the clothes with the plastic itchy thread. Ugggg. You go girl…and I will gladly watch and be motivated. Hi Shannon. I must say again that you two are fun to watch together. Have a great day!
Thinking back to older videos of your mom decluttering vs where she is now is amazing. She sees the benefits of having less and so it's easier to let go! Keep it up, mom!
I enjoy your Mom in your declutter videos. She is knowledgeable & fun to watch. It was nice to see her change her mindset from the past to now. I've recently donated shoes that were uncomfortable & painful for me but were so cute. Hopefully, someone will find them to thier liking instead of wasting space in our closet. Thanks for your videos. Love the videos of you & your Mom.
I am about to make a ‘Japanese ‘ style wrap around apron, on further inspection it somehow resembled the wrap around apron my mother and grandmother used to wear in the 40s and 50s, so yes I’m turning into my mother.
Way to go for your Mom! I always enjoying seeing her. That inspires me to look for more shirts to declutter. Keeping all these just in case items don’t serve us! Life is too short to put up with a scratchy shirt!
You girls are too funny! Love watching your journey of decluttering together. There are many of us, like your mom , who would wait for the “old” stuff to wear out before allowing ourselves to wear something new! What are we waiting for???Life is too short, and we’re not getting any younger! Lol
Wow, I thought that was just me with the holes in my shirts. I 1st thought the washing machine was doing it until I saw they appeared in the same spot on all my shirts. I wish they would stop producing junk! Way to go ladies - get rid of what you don’t like or wear. ❤
Hooray for your mom! She is doing a great job. Shannon, you have shown us that in helping others, we need to respect that each one of us has their own timetable or comfort zone, if you will, in decluttering our belongings. Great video!👏🏻
Oh my, your Mom is me!!!! All her reasons for putting stuff for sometime? to back of drawer! And those hot jammies...bye, bye!!! Fun and encouraging! Thanks!
So much of how your mom thinks could be me at times. Especially lately about clothes. I did my closet again the other day in the middle of the night and filled a black garbage bag for donation.
It's so freeing to declutter & not have to manage the extra inventory anymore. This was fun to watch. Especially with your mom here, too. Shannon, your videos just keep getting better & better. I get so excited when I see that there's a new one to watch. ☺🙋♀️
You both had me cracking up! I think this video is so relatable when decluttering wardrobes. At the beginning, it was hard for me to let go of items that I spent so much money on. However, it feels so good to let go of items that no longer make us feel confident or no longer fit comfortably. I’ve learned that we should all love every piece of clothing that we own.
Your mom caught the decluttering bug from you! Really though, it's so great when you finally get to that point of easily letting go of anything that you don't actually like to wear. At first, it's like pulling teeth and hard to get rid of anything but then you start to enjoy eliminating everything from your wardrobe that you don't want to wear. I was packing for a trip a couple of weeks ago and it turned into a full closet declutter. I love that it's more minimal and I feel no need to replace anything, just like your mom was saying.
Ok. Ok. Ok. I'm gonna do another hard pass through my closet. Drawers look spiffy and streamlined, but I can def do another pass through the hanging stuffs. Tks for the prompt, hons!
I do think about some clothing items I decluttered but as Shannon pointed out there had to have been a good reason I did it. So have to just move on. I’m a bit more careful now and do use the time will tell system. My wardrobe is pretty small so it’s not a huge issue.
Your mom is great! So funny! Your mom is just like mine when it comes to keeping things…the reasons she gives in why she has to save them. I’m slowly working on helping my mom let go of the things that she doesn’t use or the EXCESS! SO MUCH EXCESS!!
I do love the ones with you and your Mum together Shannon - she shows why you are so nice. And maybe I’m about the same age as her too, so maybe that makes it more fun for me.
Great video with your mom. I recently decluttered my closet for the third time in the past year. It feels so good to not look at the things that I’d never wear or that were really old. I also let go of bras that were still nice, but not comfortable. Yeah Shannon’s mom! I think we could be friends! 😂
I enjoy seeing you together, reminds me of me and my daughter Your mom has become a minimalist, it starts when you first declutter and find the peacefulnesses it will bring
You and your mom have inspired me to get back up and declutter again. I stopped my decluttering process months, ago. Two deaths in my family make it plain that possessions aren’t important. Thank you.
Oh my gosh! I can’t believe it, so much stuff! And doesn’t it feel great! Maybe Mum will be up for another layer of her cupboards and cabinets? It would be fun to watch and really interesting to see how differently she feels about some of the stuff she kept last time. I know for me each time around, more and more stuff goes.
Your mom is on a mission now! So fun to watch! 💝 I am forever purging/sifting/sorting. I find it’s really necessary every few months or so. Our needs change faster than we realize. Thank you for sharing. God bless!
Hi Shannon. Pamela here from the uk. Absolutely great video today of you with your mother. She has really gotten those decluttering muscles working and making great progress in all sorts of areas within her home. Your mother has you to thank for getting her started. Best wishes as always. Pamela.
Well done! I know the urge of "saving stuff or clothes for whatever". The tip that helped me is the sentence: USE YOUR STUFF! It's so much fun kind or allowing yourself actually using your things. This also helps the too-much-buyers too...bevor you buy any new item: USE YOUR STUFF! 😉
It's because of you, Shannon! Your Mom has seen you do this and because you gave her a boost to get started, it just took off. This feels so relatable. I used to think just as Kathy used to 🤔 ...I better save it just in case, and definitely I better save it until I wear the first one out. I still have to remind myself, " Wear that... it doesn't matter if you wear it .. enjoy it, every day is a special day!" And it's true, once you start it's like the ball just keeps rolling. For me, sometimes I will just be doing something such as exercising and I'll close my eyes and think, "do I have anything in my sleep drawer that I don't like?" and I'll be able to picture just what's in there and think of something in particular and as soon as I get off the exercise bike, it's out of there haha Love ya'll. Yes, this is real life. The scratchy stuff, just all of it. And yes..there WAS a reason why we let each of those items go. This video will be a great help to many ;)
Thank you Julia! I used to always save my clothes for special occasions. I remember as a teenager having tags on clothes hanging in my closet because I never had the special day to actually wear the item. How crazy is that LOL. Now when I buy something I take the tag off right away, wash the item and start wearing it. Why wait... I hope you are having a nice day!
Wow. Now that your Mom has on a new black top that fits really well; I can really tell she has lost weight. She looks great. so happy she has let go of all the things that don't fit anymore or she doesn't like.
I think what happens is as you get older time speeds up and suddenly you realise it's been 10 years or more since you wore something (at least that's what's happened to me 🤣). Then you realise that it came from a different stage of your life and it's just not you anymore. Sometimes things no longer fit, but you wouldn't wear it even if it did fit. I've been decluttering for a while but it might be time for another major clothes purge. Some I've been hanging onto for the weight loss. Ah, that old chestnut I hear you say. Truly I really do need to lose quite a bit for health. But, thinking about some of my items, I'm not sure I'd wear them anyway.
You won't believe what I just did. Culled 2 wardrobes by almost half! Started with the back up wardrobe and as you say, got on a roll and did the main one!! Going by the coathangers there were approx 50 items went. More than I'll ever wear. I've culled before, it's not new to me. But after watching your Mum it was never this easy before. I was so decisive. Please tell her thank you for allowing us to see that, and thank you for facilitating this.
@@labradorite8256 You're welcome! You've inspired me to go through my clothes again to get ready for Spring! I still have items that I have held on to and I think it's time to let them go. We all inspire each other. Kathy (Shannon's mom)
@@kathyol well it was meant to be because the very next day was a charity clothes collection in my suburb that I didn't even know about. I was still running out the next morning adding to the bags before the truck came! So instead of sitting on the porch for a couple of weeks until somebody got around to carting them away, they're already gone. No backing out now lol.
Wow your mum got rid of so many clothes 🙌 💪It's really inspired me to go through and get rid of anything that I don't like for whatever reason or doesn't fit so that everything I have is an option 😊
If the idea that women turn into their mothers is true, you are so lucky! I love watching the two of you interact as well.
Thank you Deborah! I am happy to turn into my mom =)
You said it perfectly. I loving watching when her mom is on also.
Yes, Yes, Yes! Luv Ur sweet Momma!

I love the questions you asked your mom! I answered them in my mind too!
I love that your mom lost some weight that is always fun!

Love you two! ❤❤❤

Yes! Thank you Karen! I hope you are doing well.
Love you and your mom's relationship! Makes me miss my daughter, she is 37, lives out of town, and I'm 60!
I am so proud of your mom! There is so much freedom in getting rid of these unworn/unneeded items. Enjoy your curated drawers and closet space.
Your mom has really strengthened her decluttering muscles! Great job!
I think so too!
I agree that dejunking items makes them disappear from my memory.
As always, you and your mom working together on her home and clothes are the best! Part of me wishes she had been a REAL hoarder who has seen the light so we could see even more of you two!

Thumps up. Glad I’m not the only one who keeps new clothing until the old ones fall apart. First time I’ve heard someone saying it out loud.
