Biggest flub in television history.
I’m not sure which was the bigger screwup. The end of this episode or making Jon Snow’s ancestry meaningless by banishing him and making Bran the king instead. All those episodes setting up a final showdown between Jon Snow and The Night King, and all those episodes laying down the foundation of John Snow being the true heir to the throne. All were a waste of time because the show runners rushed the final season since they were focused on the new Star Wars trilogy they were hired to create (then fired after the final season of Game of Thrones was released and their reputations were ruined).

U think as if they care about the viewers lol They just want revenue - cost = profit. By season 7, they got maximum viewers possible from this planet so then they pulled the plugs to leave with a fat bag of cash. Any longer and it would reduce their dollars and they love their dollars

Remember the teaser before the season started and it shows (not in exact order) Bran's crushed wheelchair, Arya's Needle, Dany's necklace, as the camera pans and the finally shows Longclaw stuck in the snow. Which is un accurate as hell only Targaryen riders or dragons master can ride them it says so in the book and even one of the kings son in house of fire fire is killed when trying to fly a dragon that is not his, these two seasons sucked
The Night King just instinctively forgets his other superpowers like vanishing in thin air and appearing at a distant place (look for the episode 'Hardhome' S-5). The gang that went beyond the wall to abduct one of the Frozen Wights deduced that if any deputee of the Night King is killed then so are the Wights he converted. And they didn't even bother to at least attack some of the masters of Night King's Frozen council during 'The long night' episode. Great job D&D
I actually found the *first two* episodes of Season 8 to be pretty good. The character interactions were rather welcome, there was a good amount of drama even without a lot of action, and the dialogue was much more like what you would expect from the first half of the series (Tyrion was even kind of witty again). Let's pretend like this never happened. They ran out of money after season 6 so they stopped the show.
You mean season 4 right?
Yeah.... let's just forget the greatest episodes of all time.... cool.
Nah I think illuminati stopped them because it was getting to real like how little finger might resemble bankers?
@@SOB-FahadQayam seasons 5-6 had their moments and the s6 finale had enough resolution to consider it an open ended series finale: Dany headed to Westeros w an unbeatable army and Jon crowned king in the north w his heritage revealed to the audience
season 5 and 6 were garbage
Night king was an apocalypse, killed a dragon with one shot hyped up for seven seasons but died in 7 seconds, in the hands of a little girl at that, and in one shot at that too.😂
And here's the princess who delivered more than what was ever promised! ❤️
Arya: “sneak attaaaaaaaack!!”
Trained by the best assassins in the world to lose oneself and become no one, “AHAHHHHH SNEAK ATTACK”
"SSSSNNNNEEEAAAAKKK AAATTTTAAACCCKKK"
She learned "Sneak Attack" from Mrs. Kim.
At this point Rey Palpatine Skywalker could be the prince that was promised. D&D clearly had no idea how to write game of thrones after the books ran out.
Actually, this was GRRM's ending. They filled in the gaps but they got the job by guessing his story correctly. There are minor differences between the books and the show but the broad story strokes were written by the man, the myth, the legend. Now you know.
@@SircoleYT Its not the books ending though, they did consult with Martin about several potential endings and how he himself was thinkin of ending stuff. But he himself have said that this is not how the books are going to end.
@@m84winzi bullshit. Martin said, way back around season 2 or 3, that he gave them HIS exact ending - where all the characters needed to end up, and it didn't matter the road they each took to get to that ending
@@m84winzi he didn't backtrack that comment until he saw how much everyone hated how Bran became King and Sansa became Queen and Jon ended up back North of the Wall, ect.
@@SircoleYTThey got the job by guessing Jon's real parents. Obviously there were other factors at play but that guess was a crucial cherry on top in their favor.
This is the best episode of Game Of Thrones ❤
And then D&D said screw that. 😅
Nah, he was the prince that hid behind a rock from a zombie dragon, genius character arc.
And then tried to outscreem it.
i still can't believe they finished this in one episode. and i also can't believe all those night kings stayed altogether while they could've been in separate place fighting different characters out there..and i can't believe that long hair night king and ithers didn't even realize arya sneaking up on them. 😭😭
That's because she was a sneaky, well-trained assassin!
The fight scene between them could’ve been legendary. Arthur Dane had insane fighting skills and so did kit Harrington they could’ve made this the greatest fight scene in all of television, but instead he got taken out by one pokey girl
She didn't even change faces for this moment. Just SCREAMS to reveal herself. What was her entire "no face" arc for then 😅
It seems like the whole series was built only for starks 🤣🤣
They aren’t like other men.
Good
Those GOT directors were stupidly obsessed with Starks they even admitted that themselve.
House Targaryen is the real hero of Game of thrones the house which actually matters.
The Starks were awesome from beginning to end . They raised Jon too ❤️ but this ending with Arya is just a big NOPE. He is the prince that was promised and they throw that out of the window.
@@merykhan97 Daenerys Targaryen is Prince which promised not Jon snow if you read that profecy properly.

This was so tragic. John snow deserved this moment. Aria already had hers.
What moment was aryas? The fry family? Littlefinger? That was just BS.

Maybe they didn’t have John kill him because he was believed to be a targaryen, but so was Danny so. I believe they did John Snow really dirty.
Aria is the most incredible characters in the show. İntelligent, talented, sometimes compassionate, sometimes not. The most perfect character in the show and I think the only person who can kill the Night King
@@-Sameen_shaw-Aria sucks ass Jonny Snow is the real deal!!!!!!!!
Arya never got her true moment. Yes she killed a whole banquet 😂 but she was meant to kill Jamie and Cersei.
Shoulda been Jon. SUCH a dropped ball moment. You set up the Night King Vs. Jon for YEARS...including that moment where NK rose ALL of those Wildlings up from the dead looking straight at a retreating Jon as to say "Your people are now mine"...and Arya ends up being the one to kill him.
I think it was great! Didn't see it coming and loved the surprise!
Doesn't really matter if that was her. The whole script was shit in those last seasons, that's the problem. Stupid and rushed
I’m so fucking mad they had staredowns leading to this and fucking stupid Arya killed him

the night Walker had charisma 😊. He stoped and instead of turning around to see John snow coming, he listened ❤
I just don't understand how there was so much build up for this battle and this enemy all fucking throughout the show. Like he was the biggest threat to all mankind and it ended like that. The battle ended so quickly. Like wtf
Exactly what we all were thinking.
budget
U think as if they care about the viewers lol
They just want revenue - cost = profit.
By season 7, they got maximum viewers possible from this planet so then they pulled the plugs to leave with a fat bag of cash.
Any longer and it would reduce their dollars and they love their dollars
I haven't watched season 8 yet. I think I should stop watching these clips!
There was never any sign of invincibility, especially with Night Walkers getting taken out here and there, including Sam for goodness sakes. I truly believe this 'invincibility' became a figment of people's imagination.
I was working graveyard shift when this episode came out which was on a Sunday (my Monday) and I log out all my social media accounts so I wouldn’t see any spoilers… just for this shit 😂😂
Sad
Stannis the Mannis: Am I a joke to you?
Arya with the thickest plot armor in the world.
I was expecting to meet the Night King at King's Landing. Was very disappointed not to see him there
Remember the teaser before the season started and it shows (not in exact order) Bran's crushed wheelchair, Arya's Needle, Dany's necklace, as the camera pans and the finally shows Longclaw stuck in the snow. That teaser made you think that Winterfell got crushed and NK went on South to Kings Landing and you were led to speculate who would have survived and how did they escape???
Yeah...the actual season was NOTHING like that teaser

Night king randomly dying to arya was one of the worst moments for sure.
Her entire story Arc was for that moment
@@adamdavis9838 loll, what was jon's entire arc for? They revived him from the dead! For what?
@@adamdavis9838 Her entire arc was to avenge the red wedding which she did. Someone hasn't paid any attention it seems.
@@adamdavis9838 Arya's entire story arc was to avenge the Starks by directly killing the people who killed her family. The Night King was Jon's, just like Ramsey was Sansa's. Arya killing the Night King ruined Jon's arc and they tried to make up for it by ruining Daenerys in order to save Jon's arc only to ruin the entire show in the process. Because by ruining Dany, they ruined Varys, Tyrion, Cersei, Missendai, Jaime, even Sansa was so unlikeable and ungrateful after Dany saved the North. Oh but Arya IS the prince that was promised, Melisandre actually says that the interpretations aren't that clear.
@@elisaa9981 no she isn't. woke Hollywood decided it would look better to make Arya the one to be the hero.
@marlboroman71818 Don't come yapping about that woke conspiracy theory. It's seriously annoying. You know there are OTHER explanations to things, right? Even when women, people of color, and LGBT+ people are involved.
That dagger is the prince that was promised 🗡️
Yes he was certainly the prince that was promised. He was able to bring many people together. That made him truly valuable, a leader that made people want to follow him and a King.
And then D&D said fuck it, let’s just get this shit over with!!!
Unless I'm mistaken, the Prince that was promised was supposed to bring humanity together to fight against the night king. I don't recall the prophecy saying he had to kill the night king himself or become king at the end
I’ve never been so angry about anything I’ve seen on the tv before in my entire life . They had done such a good job with GOT that I didn’t see that last season coming at all . I wonder how many years it will be before DandD admit to themselves that they ruined a great show .

It looked great on my screen but I've heard a lot of morons out there have shitty screens. If you're anticipating something called "The Long Night", maybe watch it at a friend's house who doesn't use a CRT TV. It was beautiful for a night shot for those of us smart enough to watch on a proper setup.

They could've just made it slightly brighter
Not everyone has access to expensive screens
I don't think making a series viewable for everyone and then suddenly making the end that hard to see is smart. It looked great when I changed my screen's brightness settings etc, but I shouldn't HAVE to do that to just watch an episode of a TV show

Expectations Subverted
Agh, it still hurts to see what they did to this formerly awesome story.

To me, those two episodes gave me the impression that the extra time had paid off.
Incidentally D&D weren't in charge of those.
