How to winterize a pressure washer Part 1 : Atlantic Pressure Washers : Maryland

So it's the original Josh Atlantic pressure washers with here again, today we're going to go over our basic winterization, uh, protection for your pressure washer. It's important to purge water from all of the pump and accessory components that could fail as a result of freeze damage. And uh, this is the basic way to do that. We're going to use a, an adapter fitting to connect to the inlet of the pump. And with our airline, we're going to blow all the water out of the line and out of the pump head and thereby protecting the pump from freeze damage. And a, here it goes

I t's important to run the air airline or to run the air and blow as much water out as possible. So you're going to give it a few moments so that you see the majority of that mist stop at the end. And once it's, it's blown clear, you're safe and protected from freeze. It's also important to purge your accessories of water as well. We can do that by extending the hose all the way and draining it out. You can also do that when you hook up to the air at the pump.
We'll do that one more time.
Make sure that you keep controller of your pressure washer hose when you blow blow free of water so that it doesn't fly around and hit you

So now we've protected both the pump and the high pressure hose from freeze damage. If you have some Vaseline, it's good to spread that on the end of the quick disconnect plug before you plug it back into the quick disconnect socket. That'll help to prevent the two from seizing together during time in storage. We'll take our gun,
hold the gun upright, pull the trigger so that all the fluid drains out. This one's just about dry already, but in a lot of cases you'll find that the whole line, the wand pipe as well as the valve inside the gun has fluid in it. So we want to make sure that that purges out. So this is your basic winterization. You have an air compressor and a couple of spare fittings. You can do it yourself or you.
