Thanks for great video! Thenk for the pump guard fluid is not working.
Great tip but there's a cheaper and more effective way. I'm a painting contractor and I have 4 commercial pressure washers. RV antifreeze is a anti rust solution for keeping the water pumps from rusting during storage. That is what I have used for 30 years and it comes in a gallon. All I do is attach a 2 ft. Garden hose to the inlet and stick the other end into the gallon of antifreeze, then start the pressure washer and cycle the fluid threw the pump for about 10 seconds and shut it down. It's never failed me and a gallon costs about the same.
Thank you, Sir!
So no need to bring out any lubricant. just antifreeze?
@@SLAYERZMB Old Anti freeze, the green kind has lubricating properties to it.
Good pointer.
your way actually seems like more work and more waist. 🤷
I’ve used stabil pump saver in little small can for years after each use and my pump is in perfect new shape, learned it from my neighbor

Thanks for the info. Very helpful.

great info I had no idea thanks to three videos
Thanks!
Great video buddy. Didn't do this last year now I get noise and no pressure/water. Pretty sure I ruined it. Off to home crapo again ha. Thanks for the tip!
Sorry to hear that
I know this maybe a little late ON THIS ANSWER.. Somtimes the tips wont let the water go through all because there is a tiny piece of debris that just blocks it therefore you hear the powerwasher running but nothing coming out of the tip change try changing those first most of the time thats all it is ...i am not sure what his reply was it wasnt coming up on my end so i thought i would help out a little here.
Awesome. Thank you very much for the info.

I'm pretty sure that little bottle with green liquid is just standard RV radiator fluid for your camper's water lines when you store it. You can use the "soap hose" to draw it into the pressure washer from a bucket.
Good to note.
There are "quick connectors" available for both garden hose and pressure washer hose connections....well worth the cost vs. time saved.
Good pointer.
"Aaron Linsdau - Polar Explorer"
Not what I was expecting while watching a movie on pressure washer maintenance, but really cool!
Cat Pumps for their version of the pump protector recommends squeezing the bottle, and for an electric, briefly turning on the unit until you can see the fluid being discharged. Have you tried this method?
Also, do you have any experience with spray-type versions, such as those made by Sta-bil or Briggs and Stratton?
Sometimes I do videos out of the wheelhouse when I think it might be helpful to others. I've not had a need to momentarily turn on the pump. I can get the green fluid to dribble out every time.
Nope, I haven't tried any other fluids - only the recommended one at the local orange big box store.
Thanks for sharing 🥰
No problem 😊
Good tip
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thanks!
..stuff is expensive. I use the Briggs & Stratton brand, however it's only good for a few sprays. Looks a lot like anti-freeze. Curious if it could be used as a substitute?
Not sure - antifreeze might work but I'm not going to suggest it or risk my pressure washer for a test. Good luck!
Love your videos. Keep it up :) However , I do have a question for you. I've read here and on different websites like you said how others have found this bottle version of pump saver sometimes difficult to use. However, couldn't you use one of the alternative aerosol versions of pump saver instead? I hear they're much easier to use. I don't think they're limited to gas pressure washer versions alone . What are your feelings on this subject and have you ever tried one?
I've not tried the aerosol version. I'd certainly appreciate anything that makes this necessary job easier.
thanks bro
Welcome
Great video, thank you so much!!!! A+++
Glad it helped!
Thank you! Mine has a white filter in the hose attachment. Are you supposed to remove that? Well, looks like a filter with tiny holes.
You want to keep that filter in - it prevents sand and rocks in the water line from ruining the pump.
@@ALinsdau will do. Thanks!
Very nice and informative video do you also need to use this on electric pressure washers or gas? Thanks for sharing. #PEACE✌🏾
I use it for either. Keeps it running.
Anything with a pump.
A tiny bit of lithium grease on hose threads and silicone grease on the rubber o-rings makes attaching & removing hoses insanely easy.
Thanks for watching.
Great video! Try out our aerosol pressure washer pump protector next time - a lot easier to use than a squeeze bottle.
Thanks for the tip!
You're welcome!
Hey, I was wondering what fuel and oil to use.(specific brands, types etc..) I just purchased a Ryobi 3300 psi 2.5GPM (4c) pressure wash and I am completely new to this and I want to make sure I use the right things so nothing breaks. Also, should i buy lubricant and apply it if I am going to constantly run my machine about everyday. How often should I change the fuel and oil and when will I know when to. Sorry for all of these questions, just a young entrepreneur trying to start a new business :) thanks.
Best to use ethanol-free fuel. Regular fuel will "rot" and gum up/wreck the small engine parts. Definitely check your instruction manual.
I’m using the same pressure washer and when I put the black nozzle for high pressure it won’t spin the water like it’s supposed to, this makes washing so much more tedious and time consuming can you please make a video about fixing that thanks!!!
That's a tough one. Thanks for the idea!
Does one bottle of the pump maintainer fluid last for multiple uses or throw away after first use? thanks so much
Yes it does - I used mine a half dozen times and there's still a lot in the bottle. I only use enough to make a few drips come out, so that doesn't use the bottle very fast.
@@ALinsdau Awesome to know. Thanks!
I get oil leak coming out of my 2300 electrical ryobi. Pressure washer the lubricant from the pump. It's leaking oil. What do I do about? Cause it will no longer work, it won't turn on.
Contact customer support - hopefully they have a solution.
if im planning on using the pressure washer nearly every day of the week should I still do this at the end of every day or only when I take a break of using it?
I do it every time since I'm an infrequent user. If you're using it all the time, you can get away with more likely.
I watched your video. Great video. How ever not that easy with the ryobi electric 2300. The product you use in the video stinks. very messy and spills all over the place. you have to try STA-BIL Pump protector. cheaper than the other brand. Purchased at Walmart for 5.99. you don't have to turn on the machine. you simply screw on to the inlet and press. WOW! The only thing that was messy was the fluid spray out of the outlet. Kind'a caught me off guard(Lol.). I will never use that other product. STA-BIL. Great product. Hoped this helped .
Sure does - thank you.
Do you have to turn the machine on for it to go in??
Hi, do you use the pump protector every time you use your washer or how often do you use it? Thanks...
I use it every time.
Way too much hassle to use it every time. Maybe once a year before winter, unless you're putting hundreds of hours on it and running hard water through it.
@@ALinsdau Unnecessary.
thanks! it was helpful
Thanks for watching & subscribing!
Hello dear. In my pressure washer when u press trigger it on and off. Can we use wd40 and spray in inlet to lubricate the o rings.
Not sure, would have to ask manufacturer.
WD 40 is not good for rubber. Silicone spray or even better yet grease is best.
Wonder if silicone lubricant spray will work?
Better to use the fluid designed for pressure washing pumps.
What about the sealed pump how we can change the oil?
Maybe the instructions show that?
The liquid is basically antifreeze and the main purpose is to avoid freeze/thaw damage in northern climates.
What about rust from prolonged storage in warmer climates?
Yes, it's a protectant for multiple purposes according to the manufacturer.
How many times will one bottle last. I found the same product at home depot
I've had mine 1.5 seasons so far.
Is this exercise designed to clean out debris after storing your washer or is it used more to prevent water from freezing in your machine over the Winter?...seeing that you live in sunny Florida, I'm assuming it to be the former...thanks Al, was just the methodology that I was looking for, John
I use the maintenance fluid every time I use the PW.
Hi boss how to change the water pump because my is d'effectif
Best to contact the manufacturer.
Great video. They say these electric pressure washers need oil in the pump. Is that true? If so where and how do I put the oil in??
They don’t make it too friendly to get to like most things with oil but there are videos on how to do it
Will have to check on that
Sta-Bil makes a much easier to use aerosol product. Seems this product needs a simple flexible connector.
Good to note.
GOT ONE OF THE SAME PRESSURE WASHERS AND IT HAS QUIT WORKING ANY SUGGESTIONS.
What is it doing? Best to contact Ryobi.
Another thing to do is take a small sheet of aluminum foil and place it over and squeeze it on the intake and outflow connectors. Bugs love to go in and lay their eggs and then seal up the openings.
Good pointer!
I have the same PW. The soap does not want to come out :( Any suggestions?
Are sure you use he blue nozzle, and insure hose is pushed to bottom of soap tank
Check what @rvtalltales9327 suggested.
My water pump not working any more how to fix it please thanks
Crud - contact the manufacturer.
Can you shoot air into it to get the water out
Not advised per manufacturer
I did this and pump still doesn't seem to push water out of the spray gun? Any other ideas to troubleshoot?
Crud not sure.
Bet you have air in the line
What’s the best way to turn off a pressure washer. Should I turn off the hose first or the pressure washer?
Never. Ever. Turn off the hose before shutting down pressure washer... never ever turn on pressure washer before turning on and bleeding hose through the pump.
Shut down the pressure washer first.
Thank you
UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.
Nice!
Can you shoot air into it to get water out
Not advised
Great video, I'm having problems installing my pump saver , I connect it and try and squeeze it but it is so hard to squeeze the bottle and nothing goes into the pressure washer let alone nothing comes through where it's supposed to one out. The instructions even tell me to pull the cord to cycle the fluid through but I do it for 10 minutes and nothing happens. Forgot to mention mine is a gas powered pressure washer.
Same
@@ashveensharma5468 is yours a gas powered washer as mine is? Someone at work said I probably have to start the washer to get the fluid to travel through the washer.
@@impossiblepie I have the Ryobi 3000 psi gas! Wasted half a bottle of fluid but nothing came out. Pulled the recoil as well.
@@impossiblepie interesting idea. Meaning youd start it after you fill the pump?
@@ashveensharma5468 I have the ryobi well , I think you attach the pump saver. Turn on the pressure washer squeeze the bottle until you get some fluid to come out then turn it off, at least that's what I'm going to try.
How many time did he need to tell the camera person you wanna see it from this side 🤣🙈 frustrating haha. Great video tho, thankyou

Do you have to let it run so gas is empty too?
This is electric so no gas.
Thank you....
What liquid do I use?
The one in the video works for me.
I hire a pressure washer for the weekend and do my whole family's driveways and walls, then hand it back. Let them maintain it.
That's a very good idea, too.
This Simpson stuff is expensive. An aerosol product like Sta-Bil is half the cost, injects a thick foam under pressure and coats the entire inside of the pump and is way easier to use.
Good to note. Thanks!
how about using a big turkey baster
That'd work but it doesn't add pressure.
How old your pressure washer?
1 year
I could be wrong but I thought this was only need it when having a gas pressure washer
Good question
Nah man. Electric water pumps still need cleaning/lubrication just like a gas water pump. It's essentially the same thing just different energy source that powers the pump. But design wise, not much diff
Want your pump to last - never run your pump in idle without the gun's handle being depressed. Never.
Good pointer.
Only true for gas pressure washer washers and maybe electrical without total stop system (which even the cheapest electrics have most of the time). Total stop turns the motor and thus the pump off when trigger isn’t being pulled
Polar Explorer? So you know the earth is not a globe in size and shape we have studied it to be for many years...As the public has now gathered over thousands of video evidence seeing miles further than the curve would allow us. Wondering your experience in the Antarctica, as it is very restricted to go beyond the designated areas.
I crossed nearly half the continent plus was off-route for 100s of miles, so I'm pretty familiar. You can actually see the curvature effect at Lake Tahoe or on the ocean coming back into shore.
