Thank you very much for showing your process. Your canes are gorgeous and you make this look easy. Your kitty gave permission to continue which was very nice of her/him 😻 😊💗👏🏻
Aw, thank you so much! I have practiced and tried to achieve this look so many times, so I guess I'm experienced at it! 🤣 yes, that was Sally, she's very stern, but really sweet when you get right down to cuddling!
@@CraftyKatsCorner awwe! I recently moved in with my sister who has two and I never spent much time with cats...their personalities are huge and they have definitely won over my heart!!! Especially when they were so timid a month ago and now they will sit under my craft table waiting for bedtime and flow me in my room! Lol
Thank you for such a lovely fun tutorial, I too am starting out with tutorials, loved your sense of fun too. Good luck, I'm planning on doing an ikat tutorial and will mention I was inspired by your take on it.
Bless you!! Thank you so very much for your kind and encouraging words!!! I hope your channel does wonderfully! I have all but completely quit using clay. I hope I may get back to it soon, but for now I'm mostly just into paper crafting. I truly appreciate you and the kind words though!! People don't seem to realize or care how harsh words can break a fragile heart. I'm so happy to be able to inspire you!!! 💗 best of luck to you!!!
@@CraftyKatsCorner I hope you get back to it too, you've got talent. I saw a wonderful tutorial with humour and a lot of hard work. Enjoy your art wherever it takes you 🙂
You all prolly dont give a shit but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Peyton Mohammed I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I really appreciate the writing which is very much helping to under stand the details, however font size and placement on screen may be made more comfortable. This tutorial is really so amazing!!
I loved the final products, but following along with the whirly words was difficult. Have you considered doing video footage instead of snapshots with flying text? Your work is stunning.
Thank you! I did get feedback from others about the swirly words, and will not be doing all that in any future videos. I actually did some video footage for a "haunted" gingerbread house, but I never got it finished, and therefore never edited or uploaded either. I may still try to finish that one, but I was not happy with how the house was turning out. I only have my phone to record with also, so it's a bit of a struggle to set up for recording. 🤣 all my excuses, who knows what may come! 💗 thank you again!!
My apologies! I had been watching your tutorials on my television all week...I just now used my phone & the writing is all together and uniform!! On a 41" television, it was completely different!!! I think maybe now I can get it...hopefully I will be brave enough & understand how to move forward from the " cube state"! I truly appreciate you sharing and educating the world! Well I am off to start working my cube and warming it up! Happy New Year!
Well..definitely not the tie dye effect. Once the clay is together and into a block how do you determine which side to lay it on and flatten to reduce? Then...how many inches long should it be? Do I then cut in half, mirror and reduce again? I appreciate your time and patience with me! Thank you
@@CraftyKatsCorner thank you so much! I have never messaged through UA-cam...just noticed I can respond. Lol I sent you another message/response to the message above this one. Hopefully you receive it and hopefully they remain private...lol
This tutorial was fantastic. You've come a long way in a short time! Yah, the lettering was a bit much, but OK for one video. Loved how the music reflected the sixties vibe (my era, btw). At time 9:40'ish you said you added white to the colors, does that mean you did a Skinner blend to add the white or did you use some other method?
Thank you so much! I really was hoping to exude a 60's kinda groove! 😁 I did do basically a skinner blend with the white for each color! I just did a slightly less measured and precise form of it called a teardrop blend, but it ends up with the same sort of results!
Hello. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent. I appreciate your time as well! By chance do you have the directions printed somewhere? In addition to a brain injury 5 years ago ,I have vertigo. After almost two full days rewinding and playing the rainbow one trying to understand it I came to this one for help...I have muted the music to focus...was all excited to try and read these directions in the beginning...even though I have to keep rewinding because it's too fas for me.. i was so grateful for the written directions on the top right hand corner of my screen.. ..until I finally allowed the moving letters to break my concentration and notice that the moving letters on and off the screen are THE DIRECTIONS!!! I thought this was all a bad joke! I started attempting to learn polymer clay about 10 months ago taking out books from the library...after almost 3 months I thought I knew enough to start... and watch UA-cam video's. Although it is a good challenge im very grateful for books.lol I have been trying so hard and finally got down a rainbow skinner blend...I have spent many month's searching for a rainbow/ tie dye cane. Monday as I realized that I have seen pretty much watched every tutorial on UA-cam and Google. (I'm not able to afford to purchase tutorials on Etsy)I actually FINALLY came across your tutorial searching for IKAT canes!!! Which I then found the rainbow Tie Dye. After 3 full days trying to understand how to reduce/stretch and mirror and going through a couple pounds of clay ( lol) I decided to come back to this one hoping that it would help me figure that part and the initial destroying ( lol) which way to lay the cane so my Diagonal is vertical to end up with a tye dye effect. Taking the initial approach is now where I'm stuck lol
Hello! Oh my! I'm so sorry about it seeming like a terrible joke. I definitely didn't intend that. I don't have just plain written instructions right now, and honestly, this and my other tie dye tutorial are the last things I actually did with clay.... and that was a couple of years ago. I am seriously hoping to get back to my clay this year, and I may be able to work up a written tutorial sometime soon, 😅 of course, I'll have to watch my tutorial to remind myself of the steps! If I do get that done, I will let you know here in our comments!
I love your process but would love it if you could do it in real time. I’m a beginner so find it hard to put all the pieces together. ( no pun intended ) 😃
Thank you! I'm awful at doing actual videos... and it's been quite a while since I have even wanted to play with my clay unfortunately. I can definitely understand where that would be more helpful though. I will try my best to get back in the swing of things and see if I can get a real time video made though! Thank you again! 💗
Especially when they were not displayed long enough to be able to read them and others were left there to long. However I got the gist of it and do appreciate the time that you put into the video! I will definitely use this technique. Thank you!!
I'm so sorry that it did bother you. I will definitely not be including it in any other videos. Thank you for your comment and the compliment about my clay work! 😁
With tutorials, it's easier to grasp (for a lot of us) if we can hear you describe it as we work. This way isn't bad for people who watch without listening. I just love hearing the way you explain things! Something about the way you teach makes things way easier. ٩(◕‿◕。)۶
Andie, that is good to know! And thank you so much... I don't feel like I'm very good at explaining... I will definitely keep these things in mind for the future! 🥰
@@CraftyKatsCorner No way, it was perfect last time! Watching creators who do super complicated things with only minimal explanation makes it tough to duplicate. :) You make it easier to follow! Im going to try this tie dye tomorrow!
I tried to watch your tutorial, unfortunately it’s very annoying having the letters dance across the screen. I’m a novice clayer, and I am able to figure out what you are doing, but honestly having the text all over the screen us not cool.
I'm so sorry about that. I am definitely going to try to do much better. I'm still very new to the idea of trying to do tutorials and videos. I hate that this distracted you so much. I am going to try to do an actual video of making this sort of cane soon... without crazy fonts! 💗
I am so very sorry but I find the flying text very irritating. It takes a long time of waiting for the text to form before you can start to read and understand it. That takes our eyes away from your gorgeous work and very much takes away from what should be the focus of your video, the process of making the actual cane. I would like to strongly recommend to use this kind of visual effect very, very sparingly, like maybe up to twice per video at the most. I like your work.
I really appreciate your feedback! Also, thank you! I am still learning and very nervous about putting myself out there. I am going to try to do a better video of this technique, live action, and without crazy fonts. 😅 I don't know exactly why I thought that was a good idea, other than having some motion I there since I was doing the whole thing with stills. Anyway, again, I thank you! 💗
Oh, thank you so much for your response! I think still photos can be great in all kinds of ways and purposes. Maybe to demo the specific thing you're talking about, or to admire what you made, or even to just let our eyes hang out while taking in what you're saying. A voice talking about something you enjoy and are enthusiastic about can be very lively and pull the listener in. I think it's a great idea to try out all kinds of different approaches so some friends and/or your audiences can give you useful feedback. Hopefully useful! Looking forward to more videos!
