Chance wrote the song. Remember them doing the sea shanty medley back during Covid? Well, it became super popular and Ubisoft (game maker) saw it and approached Chance and asked him if he would write a song for their new pirate game called Skull and Bones and this is it! Tim went insanely low didn’t he?! Yeah there’s guitar and mandolin and Adam doing drums. Austin played mandolin on stage. They’re so good live. For Adam try Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). It’s older but it’s just Adam and a microphone doing drums. He’s amazing. 🥰😍
Glad we are getting a double feature! Chance wrote this song for the game "Skull & Bones". I think they were asked to write this because of "The Sea Shanty Medley". I really like seeing this live version as it shows who is doing what parts. Tim & Chance are doing the really low notes in the beginning. Chance has his guitar & Austin is playing a mandolin. Adam is holding down the percussion sounds. And Austin & Rob are adding a fuller sound with their harmonies. Wish the live was the longer version of the song.
It was really fun to see the gamers reacting to this live when this streamed. They didn't know HF and were seriously thrown by how extreme bassy this was.
I know, right? One person thought Tim was doing mongolian throat singing. Lol! I felt kind of bad for the guys though, because alot of the streamers overlooked the singing because they were upset at getting a song instead of an announcement or gameplay. S&B has been in production for many years over what it was supposed to be and they were hoping for/expecting something more than a song. Alot of them even talked through the whole performance. Oh well. But it's a great opportunity for them. The gaming industry is huge. I'm so proud of the guys.
Subscribed. This is the lyrical game video first. So exciting.the first version was all of Home Free singing it as well. It was the original because Adam Chance wrote it.
Thanks for doing the request, I'm glad you liked them, Jess. The reason for the instruments was because it went with the Shanty theme (especially the mandolin.) and it was easier to sell it to UbiSoft that way. Hair looks beautiful by the way.
There are two brand new 'professional' live videos out there. One is the Sea Shanty medley, released on Sept 15th, filmed at a concert specifically for the video; and the other is the first 3 songs from their last concert in London on Oct 1st. The entire concert was livestreamed, but only the first 3 songs were free - and they are in one video.
Yes you must watch Adam’s “Drum “ solo he’s amazing. I would recommend doing one of his older ones than a newer one the newer one he uses a looper for the first bit and creates his own song than moves on to his more beatboxing with the looper
The "Skull & Bones" chant in the background I believe is Rob. The camera just happened to be on Adam. If you look close, you can see and hear that Adam is beatboxing during that part. Plus the camera person would have had to have known he was the one who sings that part, before he actually sings it, so they could put the camera on him at the right time. So I think it's just a coincidence. Alot of people have thought the same thing.
This song seems to resonate with men a bit more than with women, but I do love Rob in the live version. Thanks for doing more Home Free. I think they said there would be an official Home Free music video closer to when the game comes out.
They performed the live version of Skull and Bones in Oslo, Norway.

A real accomplishment for Chance and Home Free.

There is another version from their European Tour, and it's the first time they performed it on tour. It's really good.

SO proud of Home Free! With them tackling this project with Ubisoft, maybe they'll finally begin to get the exposure and accolades they deserve❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
There is also a live version of Sea Shanty Medley put out by Home Free you should see.
Perfect way to experience this song in all its glory, with both versions. And a full live will come along as well.

I'd suggest an old one and then a newer one.
Great reaction. You will be amazed by Adam’s talents.

I heard somewhere that this might have been for a video game, I hope that's true.

Sincere reaction. BTW: you look so different. Why?
