    One of my friends broke their Iphone screen so i decided to send them this video. The camera angle is very easy to see from, and the steps are quite understandable. Looks promising so i hope this helps her. Thanks for the putting this video out there, im sure it's helped many!

    Some people are just not made to do this kind of stuff. I just tried to fix mine. I got to removing the ear piece and watched the step 15 times where you remove the ribbons there (4:28) and still TOTALLY mess up. I should've just taken it somewhere. But these are the best instructions I've found so far. I am just not made to do this stuff.

      Kristien Stuteville most of the screws are just used to secure the connectors if the phone gets dropped or bumped so it should all be fine. Plus, you now know how to fix them if they come loose.

    Thanks so much for this, I just repaired my fiances phone for the cost of a screen (£17) and a set of tools(£8.95). Being 1/4 scottish and the rest yorkshire by blood I don't like spending out!! Really good advice in this, I found a decent set of tools well worthwhile as opposed to the cheap ones that came with the screen. definitely worth having a piece of paper with areas for each of the screws marked out on it as there are a few to keep tabs on!!

    • @AdBlock1
      @AdBlock1 5 років тому

      You might of put fingerprints on the connectors and that would stop the digitiser from scanning your touch (I did this on a iPad it took me for awhile till I realised :p) or if you are sure you didn’t do that, it would most likely be the screen depending on how much you spent on it and got it from, I recommend you get a good quality oem replacement.

      A Jones Is yeah, when I got a replacement screen for my black iPhone. I noticed I could always see the “screen rectangle” when turned off. Something I never saw when I had the original screen. I ultimately ended up paying for a $170 dollar replacement screen at apple because I just felt the colors were all off compared to the original screen , however the guy was nice and ended up giving me a new 7 Plus instead when I went to apple.

    hey I have an iPhone 7 plus 32GB super happy with it but it is that the last one when I record a video with the front camera it gives my voice but muffled with hissing sound but if I rub a few times with a small piece of sharp object then in the hole where the mesh and ear speaker is freed very slowly then he does it again for a while and automatically falls back to the muffled with hissing sound and then I have to repeat this again but I want to get rid of this but the front camera replaced is enough to solve this or has the ear speaker or pre-assembled screen been replaced?
    Using with front camera only its work without sound and ear speaker when i do a phone call the ear speaker works good

      Hi Bella.
      Yes, the replacement screens are actually a combined LCD and digitizer assembly. So most issues with the LCD, backlight and touch sensor (which aren't being caused by a fault on the logic board) will be fixed with this replacement.

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  5 років тому +1

      You're just adding extra risk of damage by not disconnecting it. I have done replacements without unclipping the battery and nothing has happened. It's just better to be sure that you won't accidentally short circuit terminals or components.

    • @lesleyfernandez5496
      @lesleyfernandez5496 5 років тому

      Michael Klements he recently changed my screen on my iPhone and forgot to unclip the battery, and now it doesn’t turn on. But I think it’s the replacement screen that doesn’t work because the button the phone works it just doesn’t turn on

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  5 років тому

      How do you know that the button on the phone is working? Can you feel the phone vibrating or making a sound when charging? If you're sure that the phone is on but not displaying anything then you've probably got a faulty ribbon cable connection or the replacement screen is faulty.

    • @lesleyfernandez5496
      @lesleyfernandez5496 5 років тому

      Michael Klements it’s the iPhone 7 and usually when it’s turned off you can’t press the bottom down but you can. I have checked all the ribbon cables and they don’t seem to be the problem

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  5 років тому

      Yes if that button is working correctly then your phone is most likely fine and the replacement screen is faulty. It may be that just the back light on the screen isn't working correctly or the entire screen isn't working correctly, either way you'll need a new replacement.

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  4 роки тому

      Hi Dan, do you mean off of its housing or off of the ribbon cable. If you've torn it off of its electronic assembly or ribbon cable then it's most likely broken. Depending on what it does, this may be a noticeable problem or not. If it's one of the smaller sensors then you iPhone will likely not adjust the screen brightness according to your surroundings or it might not turn the touch screen sensor off when you're on a call.

      @@MichaelKlements Hi Michael, I am in a similar situation. I have separated the proximity sensor from the ribbon cable. Copper back showing on the now removed sensor, black (glue?) over copper on the ribbon cable. Is there a glue I can get to glue this back on? Does it have to convey current? Thanks for your video. Should have watched a third time before starting.

      @@nycliving5798 nowhere do they claim to be OEM screens. Apple does not sell their screens individually to the public. The OEM screens available online have been refurbished or harvested from old iPhones.

    Can you do this with the phone turned on

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  5 років тому

      You can try but it's not a good idea to do with the battery connected (or phone still on) as you may short something out.

      Try reconnecting the ribbon cable connectors again, one may not be properly seated. Also check that the camera assembly ribbon cable is not bent or torn anywhere along the edges.

    And what about waterproof seal for the home button? @Michael Klements

    • @MichaelKlements
      @MichaelKlements  4 роки тому +1

      There is a small rubber gasket around the home button which you'll transfer to the new screen. If it looks worn out then you can replace it as well. It's important to remember that even if you do replace all of the seals on your iPhone, it probably won't be water resistant to the same level that it was before it was opened, so don't treat it as being water proof.
