- You guys keep asking me where I get my parts, unfortunately, they won't sell to anyone who does not own a repair shop. However amazon has some screens up for sale, so I want to test them out and see which is the best.

The reason why the first screen was quite hot might be because there was no backplate which could have acted like a heatsink or something

I’d like to see maybe an iPhone 12 series screen replacement from Amazon or even an s21 screen replacement from Amazon.
If it’s affordable of course, since OLEDs almost always cost quite a lot more than LCD panels.
Yeah I was thinking the same. Since the iPhone X, they had OLED on some models, so older models could be affordable to actually have an OLED replacement.

@@rushilkisoon Samsung has actually never had an LCD on a flagship S series. from my knowledge, even the first Galaxy S had an AMOLED display. its hilarious because you look back an am amazed at how they were ahead of the game for so long, however display replacement costs suck with an OLED. its the reason I dont mind the on paper downgrade to an IPS display, the one on my Xcover Pro is vibrant enough that I will take it over an oled just for the ease of repair
@@Carterthielftw_ I mean they do specialise in display manufacturing, like LG, so it’s a good way to show off their work to other buyers.
My only complaint with an LCD replacing an originally OLED panel, is the “dodgy” electronics needed to create the LCD image and backlight power, since OLED is self illuminated
@@rushilkisoon definitely, I personally would always prefer to buy geniune/soft OLED. I also know that some people dont want to spend $300 on a display for a 2yr old device. This is why I actually prefer a good quality IPS display being standard on devices.

The screen overheating couldve been due to the missing backplate which might’ve acted as a heat sink
And then? What eould have happened, just think s hit further? …yes? Right, the backplate would get hot, too - he would have felt it, and the IR would have shown it. Backplate or not, this screen was way too hot, I’d never install it.
@@erebostd you're not gonna believe this, but heat dissipates on a larger surface, especially since its metal.

I got one for Samsung from amazon and it is working great and even had tools for replacing .

Second one i bought from!! They are good and even have me a free screen protector the only flaw is the home button I think I messed up but it’s overall good
the bsuve is my favorite. i used it for a seven that i fixed and yeah it’s pretty good quality

I would like to see how strong was the glass of the display. Usually aftermarket screens have a low quality and thinner glass. You can add this in the next comparison.
I second this. Many screen replacements this day have good display or recycled display from the broken one. But that outer glass never as strong as the original one. Always break easily.

You're videos are great. All non OLED screens LCD's need the polarized lense sunglass test as well. I bought the second screen and the polarization angle is 90deg off from my sunglasses so the screen appears black when I have them on.
I leaved a like at the starting of the video and I have to say that this video is one of the best reviews of all time

Definitely looking forward to more of these type of videos. It’s always hard to find a brand new quality screens, I always try to stick with OEM used. My first repairs I ever did I only trusted iFixIt, but after all three screens for different phones showed up as crappy china eBay re-brands with low quality Color accuracy, refresh rate and brightness, not to mention they didn’t really even fit the phone properly, I was done paying three times the price for some stupid namebrand but I thought I could trust their batteries, but even they crapped out on me after three months.
Wiith phone parts and accessories I noticed that a lot of products got tens of thousands of great reviews (which is kinda untypical for such specific products) and if you look into it, you'll see most of them are about something entirely different, lika dishes or something. These shady sellers somehow manage to take over product pages for completely different products.

my mom cracked her iPhone XR screen the other day. I decided that since I've worked on iPhone 6 and 6s iPhones I could replace her screen. Watched the video on how to do it like 15 times and I replaced her screen with one from amazon. Only spent $20 bucks and it works perfectly.

I got a screen and battery for a Samsung A50 from a local repair store and reseller. The screen got completely scratched withing the first 3 days and after 3 weeks the glass started coming off the display. The brand new battery lasted less than a 3 years old battery. I also got the back panel to replace and the coating on it had some sect of dust. I feel like these were all parts that didn't pass quality check. Needless to say I took it apart and sent everything back.
I bought a ocolor brand screen with touch Digitizer assembly for a moto g power 2021 works perfect only thing pissed me off is they left the glue out of the kit. Supposed to be a hard phone to fix but it's not at all it was my first time replacing one and it was a breeze screen works perfect and looks good

Great video. It would be interesting to hnderstand durability of aftermarket screens. We have tried to replace 3 s reens for iphone xs and they did not last long
When you install a lcd screen on a phone that comes with an OLED it requires more power and will cause a slightly warmer screen. Only use Oled screens on those phones. The LCD screen will function but it will cause issues especially on a water damaged phone. The 11 and xr are original is an lcd screen though.

I don't think of screens as being something that would ordinarily be able to overheat. Isn't it far more likely to have been an old battery that was felt to be overheating rather than the screen?
Some companies are pretty good i used to use a bunch of them when i was first getting started

i fixed my screen twice with amazon screens it’s good so far but the screen protector that comes wit it, is so easy to break.
Next, do this for OLED models like the 12 or X
I think the 8 screen I bought a bit ago is from the same manufacturer as the screen you recommended! Pretty much the same exact packaging haha

Hey phone repair guru I got a question for you how do I actually know if my old phones screen is heating up at a fast rate because when I use it to type on it,it would burn my hand especially when it's in my back pocket it would feel like I'm being burned again as well I'm not sure if I should get that fixed or ask someone to fix the issue and the charging port as well

I made my own phone fixing business, so far it’s been really great. How ever I am 15 so I don’t know how much I should charge people for simple screen replacements. Sometimes I feel like I might charge too much or too little. Also can anyone suggest any good websites to use for good quality screens other than Amazon?
Just Chinese websites like Ali express and stuff most of the stuff on amazon I believe they buy from them and resell it

you need an LLC to get good deals but the screens are better quality id try mobile sentrix or injuredgadgets
depends on how greedy xr in my area cost about 80-95 screen cost anywhere between 20-27 on amazon so they charge 50-60 for labor and the cost of screen get a llc can get screens and parts from websites that required abusiness ein#for a lower cost can really make your own price just have to be a price thats keeps customers coming.

I bought a screen form the first company (ZTR)..I got it with the same blue package and it was absolutely trash…the colors was completely off especially (BLACKS) and it broke on the first fall and never worked again 😂

i’ve gotten a few from them to replace those older home button iphones, they’ve been fine for me, obviously inferior quality though.

After seeing the videos on this channel I specifically seeked out an iPhone 8 batery from AmpSentrix because I did not want an old used junker programmed to say it was new... So thanks Phone Repair Guru, I got an AmpSentrix Plus iPhone 8 battery and it is literally better than OEM. Thank you!

I cracked my oled screen for my X about 2 years ago, and i replaced it with a screen that costed 90 euro's, it was trash! The touch did funky things, the colors were way off, the ghosting was crazy, and i was upset because it was supposed to be a "premium as original" screen, than, 6 months later, i bought one from a very small vender here where i live, he asked 50 euro's for this panel, i thought by myself why not, it was an oled panel and thought by myself, if the touch works normally, i am happy, F the quality of the display, i want a working iPhone, the screen arrived in some janky packaging like the last screen you unpacked, but man, this screen is awesome!! The touch problems were gone, the colors look really good, the bezels are as thin as the original and it came with everything so the swap was so easy! The only problem is the refresh rate, it is way better than the more costly screen, but it is a big step up. I am still using this screen and no problems whatsoever. If you didn't know that this was a replacement, you can fool somebody 4 sure!
