I adopted a 4-5 yr old dog, malnourished, very sick ( poodle, schnauzer, chow, cocker spaniel mix. What a character, I named her Lucille Ball. Anyway, Vet gave her little to no chance to fully recover. My Lucy lived 22+ yrs. I fed her everything you mentioned in this video, except the Cinnamon, & ,I added steamed sweet potatoes, when i didn't have carrots. Local raised chicken, beef and beef liver, deer, moose meat & fresh crappie. She drank Well water and/or from a underground spring with a few tsp of Raw apple cider vinegar in her bowl (All her veggies came from the Amish farm, or my garden No one believed me when I told them Lucy's age, even when she was 17-18 yrs old, people thought she was a puppy. She passed Aug 2022, (in her sleep);I I miss her everyday😢😢). When I took her back to the same Vet, (5 yrs after he seen her) for a Rabi shot (I had no choice, as we went to Canada) the Vet argued with me, telling me no way was Lucy the same dog he seen 5 yrs prior. He asked me, ''what game are you trying to play''? I made many copies of her diet and passed them out to 1000s of people (usually campers) during my travels around the country. I hope many peoples pets had the quality life my Lucy had. P.S. Another key factor to good health, NO STRESS. Good luck to all pet lovers❤
Thanks so much Doc, you're a God Send. Im a 73 year old English bloke living in the Philippines with 13 rescued street dogs living with me at home, and feeding up to 25 more in the streets every day. I used to feel sorry for them all as on my pension mainly all I can afford to give them is blended fruits, potatoes, vegetables and rice - not much meat - but I really have seen miracles! Dogs with no hair, scratchy skin and open sores now have wonderful coats of shiny hair! I also buy fish from the market, as its cheaper there, and cook that for them , they love it! And now you've just confirmed it all. Doc, thank you so much, God Bless you and Tula xx
Your commitment to caring for these animals is truly inspiring. I'm amazed by the positive impact your efforts have had on their health and well-being. Thank you for sharing your story, and I'm grateful to have been able to help! Bless you too and your fur babies! ❤️❤️
Hello👍 I'm from the Philippines too🇵🇭 In Our Place I Fed Stray Dogs & Cats..Sooo Sad to See them looking Food at the Garbage ..So Almost everyday I Cooked Breast Chicken (No Bone) with Rice put some Carrots or Sayote..Then leave Container with Water in Front of our House for their Drink👍
Thank you soooo much for helping the street dogs. I've had 2 rescue me here in Mexico and I also feed the ones still on the streets. The state I live in Mexico actually has pretty healthy street dogs....probably because all the businesses and lots of people feed them and we have free vet clinics
1 Root vegetables including carrots and spinach. 2 Apple and blueberry 3 Turmeric and Cinnamon spices 4 Flax seed, ground 5 Olive oil 6 Liver and Tuna 7 Sardines 8 Yoghurt Also avoid corn, soy and pesticides if possible. Even more than 7 so thanks Doc.................;)
Too much copper in Gerber foods and unless they have redone their items to my knowledge they refused to pull their product line! Traces of other things as well such as arsenic - hope Trump goes after the FDA
I recently decided to stop all canned dog food and kibble. I cook from scratch. rice and chicken, sweet potatoes, vegetables, cinnamon and apples, etc. I should have done this years ago. The commercial dog food is garbage. No wonder so many dogs die from cancer. A side benefit is while I'm cooking from scratch for the dogs; I'm cooking for my husband and I at the same time. We are all happier. P.S. It's not that hard to do and lasts for days in the frig. Plus, we're saving money! Scratch cooking is cheaper than buying commercial foods!
I use to cook for my 4 min pins years ago. They passed at age 16 1/2 yrs old. Now I have two pits. And they suffer from allergies atopic dermatitis and yes I give them kibble but just 1/2 cup to 1C. The rest is veggies fruits fish oil plain yogurt, liver, sardines, chicken hearts. Chicken breast Turkey ,Sometime I just feel like cooking again. Oh ps. I also give them vit.
Dr. Jones is a TREASURE to humanity. What would we do without our dogs and cats? There's nothing worse than seeing a beloved pet sick due to preventable causes. Gratitude to you, sir. #Godspeed..
I’ve been cooking for my dog for years. He’s 8, looks like a puppy. Pumpkin , sweet potato, blueberry, kale, arugula, carrots, broccoli, flaxseeds. Smelts, salmon, beef, liver, heart, ground turkey…. I mix them in pressure cooker for half an hour. Only takes 10 mins to prepare then I freeze them in small containers. One batch lasts 2 weeks.
I make all of my dogs’ food in a crockpot the night before. My oldest is 16. I add turmeric and ground pepper every day. Thyme is a great anti parasitic herb. My Golden Retriever is almost 13. He still works as a therapy dog for a nursing home.
My dog's overall health, skin, and fur are amazing since I started gently cooking Dr. Judy's pup loaf recipe to feed him in lieu of kibble. It includes many of these ingredients, and I add olive oil in addition to flax oil. For treats, I give him apple slices, a bit of yogurt, frozen green beans, and sometimes carrots. I gently cook the chicken gizzards and freeze the broth in ice cube trays for him to crunch when he's coming in from outside heat. I also freeze organic sugar free vegetable baby food in silicon trays for treats. Sometimes I make 3 ingredient salmon treats for training. Right now, my dog eats all whole foods, plus ALL veggies and beef are organic to avoid corn fed or sprayed products.
My 9 y.o. boxer had a baseball-sized angiisarcoma removed, and then my vet recommended no kibble. I started cooking for him with ground turkey, organ meats, carrots, flax seed, ginger and various orher foods. He lived to be 2 months shy of 14 years old!
I’ve been preparing my dogs’ food for over 20 years. I’ve included many of the plant matter you suggested in this video. During this time, I lost 6 dogs to cancer. When my 11 year old Doberman developed a mammary tumor 2 years ago, I scoured the internet and threw away ALL plant matter and increased animal fat. On this strict ketogenic diet the tumor noticeably shrank. The beneficial side effects from removing “healthy” produce from my dogs’ diet - my young male’s seizures completely stopped, my young female’s reactivity completely stopped, the plaque on my 14 year old dog’s teeth flaked off with no other intervention, and my 4 Dobermans all had improved heart function as per their annual Holter and echocardiogram. I’m a trainer and when I can talk my clients into removing carbs from their dog’s diet, the dog saw tremendous health benefits. People in the health community have access to metabolic information the rest of us can’t access. I would love it if you supported a time restricted ketogenic diet for dogs and educated people on the benefits.
@@lounaj7184 all carbs!!! When I fed “healthy” green vegetables I lost 6 dogs to cancer. Removed ALL vegetables, increased fat, and tumor on current dog receded.
My rescue Daschund mix died of cancer at 10 yrs old. I began giving him home cooked food, avoided shots and used natural flea deterrents. But he’d try to bury some of the supposedly good quality canned dog food his earlier years til his last. Wish I knew better! Yes, he’d sometimes turn his heavy double dog dish over in protest, sometimes go get a bathroom rug to cover it- I should have took a clue. We did give him plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables- but that canned food likely had cancerous causing stuff. Rest in peace Lorenzo! ♥️
I got rid of a huge tumor on my dogs neck by feeding him brocoli, carrots, flax seed, coconut oil, avocado, and spinach blended up with his food. My cousin, who is my vet, was amazed.
Skipping the kibble, completely, and feeding a raw diet it’s going to do more than anything else I feel. Not a Carol and not a guarantee, but I think it gives the best chance of your dog living a good healthy life.
@@panamafred1 I have been feeding my animals a raw diet for a little over 20 years now. still get pushback from people, and veterinarians. I’ve heard my vet yell at other people about it, but he doesn’t say a word to me. He says my animals are some of the best most healthy animals he’s ever seen. You have to do the raw diet correctly. But there are many ways to do it correctly.
ATtention- how to get your dog to eat everything i. Their bowl- mix in some bone broth- make it from bones n leftovers of turkey, chicken, beef- get chicken feet, cheap good source from butcher- takes 6- 12 hrs simmer in stock pot- freeze it- mix small amount in bowl- enough to coat- Mary Nest on yt has good recipe- its full of minerals n collegen- dogs love it
I agree! It doesn't cost any extra to save your bones in the freezer, then make a stock in the slow cooker overnight. Good nutrition in there and very hydrating!
Our Pomeranian had a heart problem and we switched all his foods to these- even when it had to be made into mush the last months of his life. At one point, when he was getting a checkup early into the diagnosis, our vet says, "Whatever you're doing, keep it up- he looks great." We were blessed to have him for 2 more years. We'll never feed our pups "dog food" again.
Our Corgis LOVE carrots! We give them carrots as their treat and they are in the Farmer's Dog that we feed them. Actually, they love all kinds of veggies: apples, cucumbers, red bell peppers, carrots, lettuce, Napa cabbage, red cabbage, blueberries. They get a handful of blueberries with a couple tablespoons of kefir and half a hard boiled egg for breakfast. They LOVE that!
I can't make my own comment for some reason, so I chose yours to reply on! Thank you @bf9436 😊 My dog loves blueberries! Only she likes to rub her neck on them!😂
@@joanneclark8256 We don’t. They eat bell peppers, only red, raw. No need to cook Napa cabbage or carrots or broccoli stems. They eat them raw. We use baby carrots as a treat.
I stopped vaxxing my dogs and make their food. Best thing I ever did! They are happy to eat everyday (unlike kibble where they would often go to their bowls and walk away) and has cleared up allergies, skin issues, itchy & stinky ears. They are both rescues and had tough lives before they got to me:). A Jackapoo and Shihpoo. I just want to give them the best lives possible because they deserve it! Daily exercise is important too.
@mithulasri1369 hi solverin silver. Carefully clean out ear gunk (dont go too deep.) Do as good as you can but it's sensitive no needbto cause pain.. Just poor a cap full in ear until it looks better then a little longer. Works every time Also watch diet, junk food sugary treats And be mindful of cold air etc that could add to ear hurting i dont do it until after she goes potty and will be in for a bit things like that Vet said they did all they could.. then I tried this it works :)
@@mithulasri1369 I just made more food last night:). I start with an oil like olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil. The ingredients vary depending on what I have available. Last night I cut up carrots, added a bag of frozen broccoli, 1.5 cups of brown rice, 3# of ground turkey, two cans of green beans, can of pumpkin. Then I add water 1/3 to 1/2 way up. I cook this in my large instant pot on high pressure for 27 minutes. Once finished cooking, I mix and mash everything. Then I put into glass bowls and freeze until I need it. I also like to add sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, peas. I buy a vitamin powder from Amazon that I add to their food when I serve it. Before I started making their food, I did ask their vet, and he assured me it was a good idea. Good luck!!! best thing I ever did for them.
Love this channel. The best advice ever for taking great care of your dogs! I have three dogs. All of them eat everything mentioned except the cinnamon. That will be added now. Everyone thought I was nuts feeding my dog sardines, spinach, carrots, yogurt, blueberries, apples and turmeric…..except my dogs. They love them all. I have no issue taking the time to do the right thing for my dogs. I enjoy making healthy foods for my dogs that will hopefully give them a long and illness free future. Whatever I can do to keep them healthy, energetic and out of the vets office from getting ill from all the garbage food that is sold in the grocery stores. I am a widow with little fur balls to keep me company. They are my life, my responsibility and my pleasure to care for. Always excited to see the docs new videos.
Some days, if our families dinner has all ingredients that are safe for the dog, I just make enough for a portion for him. He gets the veggies and fruit with his raw food every day. At first I fed him an expensive kibble, but the raw food, with the daily add ins costs about the same. He's a large breed, and feeding him works out to about $100 per month. The kibble was 80$ per bag, which lasted 3 weeks.
I always add lots of different veggies to my dogs food. Veggies, meat and a little kibble seems to have been OK for my boy as he’s almost 16 and still going strong.
What about adding fulvic acid? Do you know what causes calcium oxalate stones? My vet tried to convince me to feed my dog Hill's prescription dry dog food (full of corn, soy & crap) for the rest of my dog's life. I said, "No thanks." I don't trust most veterinarians any more.
I just found out that spinach is one of the biggest culprits for oxilates, that was in humans so I guess it will be the same for dogs. A guy was having green smoothies every day for health, after a while he was in agony with stomach pains, ended up having to have an operation to remove the stones, Dictors said spinach was not as great as many people think.
My greyhounds also love pumpkin and sweet potato and peas and broccoli. I give them lots of veggies and fish also rice and white fish/ sardines. They get a variety
I read rice not good cause ferments in their gut. I've done alot of research cause my 13 yo Maltese got elevated liver enzymes. I cook him chicken tenders and thighs cutting up half and half. Also read we shouldn't mix dry kibble with human food cause it is digested differently. I think what happened is my husband and I would feed him canned chicken until I read contents which included 50% sodium. So does canned salmon, sardines, mackerel, etc. Have to read contents.
Mine eat thos about 3 times a week and their poos are the best eg not runny. They have glossy coats. They are rescue greyhounds .I also feed them chicken livers kidney some liver all in moderation and the vet said they're fab when they got their booster jags. People on my greyhound groups also feed their dogs rice same as me and they're fine. It soothes tummies when I'll.
There's rice and peas and carrots in kibble and canned dog food so it's all OK I just go by rule of poop. At the moment my dogs have perfect sausages at the moment so I'm happy
I've been making my dog's food since I got him at 10 weeks. I found your channel right away. He loves veggies, fruits and herbs! His coat is super shiny. He's a Cavalier, 11 months today.
Start them early & they eat almost everything. Tho raw meats & eggs are best avoided for indoor pets as these run the risk of salmonella & other bacteria which indoor pets may not have immunity to
Good for u. I wish my cavapoo was on home cooked food from day one. He has stomach issue from day one , ever since he’s on home cooked food, all the diarrhea vomiting and constant vet visits stopped. They are the best dogs, great nature, calm and loving.
Love this advice! My dog loves most veggies and fruit I give to him and will mooch when I am eating my daily salad. BUT blueberries he spits out and has done since he was a baby. He literally can detect them even if they are buried. And I give Syd cranberry powder and ground flax seed in the morning and tumeric for his dinner.
I had a black lab diagnosed with liver cancer he lost half his weight. Vet gave him a couple months at most . I started turkey tail mushroom powder 1/8 tsp twice a day and he gained his weight back and had a quality life for over 2 more years. The cancer still got him in the end but my dogs get it all the time now.
Tula is so precious 😍 If possible, could you do a segment about the smaller dogs and what special needs they might have. As in the tiny long hair chihuahua that only weighs 5 pounds. When you say so much of something for a 20 pound dog, I'm thinking that would be a pinch for my tiny chihuahua. Praying that you're not in a lot of pain and healing fast 👑🙏💞✝️🐾🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯
When I begin to worry about what I'm doing I remember that dogs and dogs with pups survived without any of our help for eons of time - our pets are family and with so much knowledge and opportunity I'm not going to sweat the small stuff! LOVING CARE
I take cod liver soft gel capsules in the morning and a couple times a week I'll cut a capsule and drip the oil on his food . My picky sheltie loves it.
i broke my collar bone/acromioclavicular seperation and i can tell ya for awhile back then percocet 10 were the only way i could sleep. Talk about learning new ways to get comfy. Doc has healing vibes going his way
My girl is a 5y.o. Westie. She came to me at 3y.o. She has been on a raw diet since she was 2.5y.o. When she developed struvite crystals (these can lead to bladder stones if not treated) at age 3, I began working with a certified pet nutritionist (we are in Australia) on a diet tailored to her specific needs. The struvite gravel resolved naturally and she's the picture of health - absolutely NO allergies here and her skin is fantastic (allergies and skin issues are something Westies are prone to.) . I can't recommend a raw diet highly enough......and be really careful of the treats you feed as some of the popular ones are packed with nasties☹. We also managed to avoid the "prescription' kibble the vet wanted her to be on FOR LIFE!
You’re an angel, Dr. Jones. We love you and our furry friends love you. Thanks for all the great advice through the years. Hope you are feeling better💕❤️💕
You are one fantastic vet!🥰 and I rely on you to help me keep my 2 + year old chihuahua mix healthy and enable Sydney J live a long pain-free life with me! Thank you sooo much for your information and teaching us how to best care for our pets.❤❤❤
My two Elkhounds love all of the above and are fed veggies and fruits daily along with meat, liver, yogurt, very little kibble along with Turmeric, brewers yeast, fish oil, and now & then some nuts like pistachios too. When I adopted the boys at age 6, their coats were not very healthy, with one of them actually had a nasty sore on his hip. After they ate the diet for a few months, the sore healed up and has not returned. Yes to sardines too and once in a while, when I cook salmon, they get the skin. They also get raw beef bones to chew once a week, along with natural treats.
Thank you! I lost two of my last dogs to anal and liver cancer. Thankfully they didn’t suffer long. A most painful disease to watch your animal go through😢.
Hi Dr.Jones.You’re doing good using one hand.I hope the pain is minimal to none and you heal quicker than fast.Thank you for this valuable video.Thank you most of all for showing up for us inspite your condition ❤
Cantaloupe and watermelon are huge faves of my dogs. Broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, lettuce are also big winners. Raw eggs are wonderful, roast the egg shells and pulverize for calcium. If you're starting to add oils, start small, give the dog's system time to adjust a bit at a time.
Thank you! That awful dog food is disgusting. I feel bad for people who can’t afford good food. I’m assuming some of these should be cooked first, but I just got some organic baby food that is made of pumpkin, apple and cinnamon! I can squeeze it right in my buddy’s food! I wish he were more food motivated, like he was when I first adopted him; things like frozen gluten-free pizza and Brussels sprouts disappeared if I left it unattended where he could reach it. Now he’s spoiled and I don’t care! Different topic: I’m so afraid he’s going to get Lyme like I have, so I’m extremely careful with my yard! I’ve seen dogs with Lyme, and they must be in constant pain. 😢 You are SO KIND, Doctor! 🙏🩷
Check out Dr. Patrick Jones, he was a vet & herbalist, also has products & also an online school! I think he’s from around Missouri but i really don’t remember! He was using Teasel Root to help people with Lyme Disease but I don’t know if it’s safe for animals.
I was at the dollar store and seen people buy toxic pet food. I tried explaining the chemicals, dyes, etc., the pet owner told me to mind my own business, my ❤ broke for her pets. My friend in ND feeds her cats horrible canned cat food. They are so sick, diabetes, cancer, so frustrating, no one listens. Some people have no business having children or pets. Anyway, my dogs veggies are steamed for just a few minutes, (1/2 raw). The meat is seared, (you dont want to cook all the nutrients out). I save all vegetable and meat juice and add to the meals. Good luck❤
@@roxane7432 Thank you for your response. People really don’t realize what they are doing to themselves, but especially their pets. For instance, my friend said that tap water was ok for dogs but not people. I was surprised she didn’t think pets needed good water as well. They have bodies that need the right things. Same with foods. I used to wonder why dog foods put pea protein, extra starches, etc. in the dog food, and would t buy it. Now I’d never buy that stuff!
@@ANIMAL-nl3nx Thank you for the info! I do have natural tick and bug repellent sprayed in my yard and use organic things on my dog. My naturopath told me that original Listerine kills ticks and to spray it in my yard and use it on my dog, so I use that as a backup and wipe him off when he comes in from outside because I’ve developed such severe allergies. I will look that up because I have all the herbs and teasels already.
I feed raw carrot, broccoli stems and chunks of swede for something to chew on. They love it. They get raw liver ( the bits we don’t want to eat) raw duck or chicken necks. We make dogs exist on cooked food which isn’t their natural diet. Any raw food always cones from a safe source and the kibble is of high quality, my dogs have lived from 13 to 16 years. Oh and they get some oily fish and the oil from the sardine tin if it is olive oil and they lick out the yogurt pots. They go nuts for frozen blueberries.
Hoping you will comment on Organic Quinoa - I've switched from Organic Brown Rice to organic Quinoa to increase protein to my 110 pound lab (in addition to the veggies and meat)
Huge Thank you ! Carrots are on the menu tonight. Mercedes unfortunately went to the bridge last Thursday from the subcutaneous hemangiosarcoma. Prayers for that shoulder !
No kibble. Just wholesome home cooking like this wonderfull vet says. It s thatvkibble that causes cancer. I do exactly this diet, plus she loves little organic honey too. Filter water
I feed my dog high quality dry food, non gmo rice, canned meat, veggies everyday plus 1 scoop of Dr Andrews powder supplement- 13yo has no stiff joints anymore- use water from can meat or bone broth
Be sure and read contents cause some canned meat has lot of sodium. I was feeding my 13 yo Maltese canned chicken and he got sick with elevated liver enzymes. Canned chicken had 50% sodium as does canned salmon, sardines, mackerel, etc. And my previous vet who got too expensive said never feed your dog pork. The kibble Royal Canin has pork byproducts. That's when I started reading the contents of all kinds of dog food. Kibble is especially full of junk.
I fed my rescue Jack Russell a whole food diet for the last 5 years of his life. Organic meats and fish, spinach, sweet potatoes, apples and blueberries. He also loved to eat raw snap peas. I had him until he was 19 1/2 years old. It’s been just a little over a year and I still miss him everyday. I never knew about adding turmeric or cinnamon, yogurt, flax seed or oils. Although he did get some cbd oil fairly regularly, specially after he started having seizures the last few years. It could be fun to freeze some of these items during summer and let the dog have his own form of ice cream…
Great video. One note about cinammon- I have read that the type of cinammon is important. The Simply Organic brand Ceylon cinammon (it will say Ceylon, specifically, on the bottle) is safer than the usual 'Cassia' type cinnamon that is most common, and just labelled as cinammon.) Too much of the cassia type can be toxic to the liver, and other unfavorable side effects.
Hope your arm gets better and thank you thank you for everything you do for the pet world. I follow all your advice and always set time every week to catch up on any new information you may have shared.
Been watching and learning from you for years. Lost my Yorkie a while back at over 16 years old. I rescued an Australian Shepherd recently and know he'll have a happy healthy life thanks to you. Ordered your powder! Have a happy day!
Thank you for your longtime support! I'm sorry for your loss but glad to hear about your new furry friend. Wishing you both a happy and healthy journey ahead! 🐾
@akiyiakelly Orijen has organ meat. I've read they've been bought out last year sometime i think and don't have to report any changes to the recipe up to 1-2 years. Hoping they haven't changed anything
I have been feeding my staffy carrots, peas, spinach and squash with rice in her kibble! She's 13 now and as spicy as ever. Sometimes I add cinnamon and turmeric. A tbsp of greek yogurt as a treat in the morning! dried liver as a treat. I somehow managed to cover your tips for the last 10 years!!
Another thing to consider in cancer prevention is to keep the dogs main area of living (kennel) and relaxation and sleeping area far away from the internet WiFi station or rotor. Very damaging to both humans and animals and even plants. Turning it off during the night is extremely helpful for everyone in the family, allowing the bodies to heal from the damaging emf frequencies. Also, keeping them away from your phone will help for the same reason. Another factor is chemicals from standard cleaning products - not good for humans either, but especially harmful to animals - even more sensitive. Another thing is artificial scents found in candles, aroma sprays, perfumes, etc - avoid! All the pesticides and fungicides and things we add to our lawns and around our houses - the dogs absorb these up through their paws easy and are very toxic. Also, is it possible to diminish the use of commercial meats? These are pumped full of antibiotics to produce faster growth in the animal, but affect the dogs gut, diminishing the health of the gut and overall health in general. All of these things are contributing to this crazy cancer rate in dogs and aren’t addressed a lot. All of the same apply to humans. Seems almost impossible to keep anyone healthy, but eliminating a few of these would definitely help…..
My dog died 3 weeks ago. He had congestive heart failure CHF disease. Vet overdosed him with heart mefication Pimobenden. He developed side effects n died. If only i knew about Dr. Jones 😢 I miss my baby sooo much 😢 he was my very first dog i ever owned. Man !!! It's so painful to lose 💔 a friend 💔 😢
Rice and chicken along with okra carrots and carry pata leaves with yogurt and fresh turmeric and ginger is what I always feed my dogs. I put other veggies from time to time.
I recently found this channel in my efforts to improve the quality of my dog Kiwi's nutrition and health -- am very glad I did! Am transitioning from a 100% Royal Canin Dental kibble which the very large impersonal vet practice in my area is rigidly promoting (lovely people but I miss my former sensible vet now retired who also had time to treat the dogs of the homeless in our city) aiming in the short term for 1/2 kibble 1/2 cooked food following your recommendations Dr. Jones, then hopefully fully home prepared as she responds. Kiwi was always indifferent to her kibble so I was instinctively adding sweet potato blueberries and bits of apple, or alternatively a bit of sardine/egg (i.e. what I eat myself) and even that minor change was so encouraging; a 10 lb slightly bored 6 yr old Peke now really enthusiastic about our total 50 minutes outside on great walks plus other activities. Better late than never! The transition continues as per your videos. Keep up the amazing work and greetings from Toronto.
No it’s not for cats cats are very different animals than dogs they don’t need veggie. Advice is he gets a cat to represent like he had with Murray and he could do a separate video for cats. One good thing is wet foods for cats.
Thank you so much for not making us feel like the worst pet parent if you feed kibble. For some of us we can't afford other ways in time or money but I can add carrots and apples and yogurt and do what I can do for my dogs. I love them and want best for them and that best may not some else is best and shouldn't be bullied by guilt for it. So I appreciate that you provide solutions with 0 judgment in it.
I’m new here! My pup is 7 going on 8 and I am looking to switch up his food. My sweet Chico passed a few weeks ago and it was a devastating wake up call! It still hurts but it woke me up and I must change my pups food now. It’s overwhelming and going through the comments here, I think I may have found my new community 🎉 Please share any extra tips! Me and my Miklo would highly appreciate it 🐶❤ We’re ready to change and live a longer healthier life together. Ps. Say HIII to your puppies for me 👋🏼
He mentions yogurt, but my dog has to have low fat due to pancreatitus & those have added sugar. Pooch, however loves plain Kefir made of fat free milk! It's really loaded with active cultures, more than yogurt. I wish someone would give infomation on rice based grain dogfood, I was aware about corn & soy being sprayed, but with rice I haven't found any info about it being sprayed with weed killer. I definitely haven't heard of rice being gmo. I have to use rice based because my dog was getting sick from wheat based products. Pea protein based I also avoid because peas in large amounts are toxic so I don't feel that's good for dogs that are smaller than humans. My dog doesn't like those grain free dog foods anyway. He ate it once & refused afterward so I quit giving it to him, I think it made him feel sick. If anyone has info about rice, please leave a comment, because he loves jasmine rice which I give him small amounts (1/2 c for a 60lb dog 4-5 feedings out of 14/week) in addition to his food. He refuses to eat carrots, even picks around them when mixed with other food, cooked, steamed or raw, doesn't matter. Will definitely be trying the others, because I lost both my Pomeranians to cancer despite them being really healthy otherwise. One was 17 & the vet couldn't believe her age because of how healthy her heart looked on the x-ray. But age made her too high risk to operate. They didn't have chemo for dogs back then. The other had it attached to her spine in her neck, completely inoperable. I miss them both dearly.
Friend had a brain tumor took the Fenz and has now been tumor free for a year. Currently to heal my dog and just finally got his CBD from your shop. Wish me luck.
Good question. Most of it has byproducts of chicken, pork, turkey, corn, soy, etc. Not including all the preservatives they use. Imo there isn't a good kibble. My former vet said never feed a dog pork. Used to feed my Maltese canned chicken until I read it has 50% sodium as well as canned salmon, Tuna, mackerel, etc. My 13 yo Maltese got sick with elevated liver enzymes.
@@charlottehall5191Milk thistle brought my senior Maltese/Yorkie's liver enzymes back down to normal. They remained that way for the rest of his life, even though he was on heart meds.
My 4 year old Australian Shepppard and I walk around our orchard and garden several times a day. We eat what ever is ripe; today I picked a gallon of gooseberries and Bailey picked them off the ground. He loves everything just as I do; carrots, asparagus, blackberries, apples, plums, etc. However, no grapes- I keep them fenced when ripe- they will kill some dogs.
I feed my dog 100 percent natural diet. when we are walking we see the guys with the tanks hitting the mulch and bushes and grass. I am so angered that nothing is being done about this. What about our babies in the world. It's nuts! All for a weed. So we garden differently and learn to live with some more weeds. That can't be worse than the the alternative
Please make sure the cinnamon is Ceylon cinnamon. There are two types of cinnamon. The Ceylon one is safe to consume medicinally. The common cinnamon from the supermarket is not. There are plenty of youtube videos explaining in depth. No disrespect intended Dr Jones. ❤ i am so thankful to have found your channel.
I stopped feeding my corgis kibble 4-5 years ago. Switched them to raw food with the meat, secretion organs & bones. Organic multivitamin powder from Wholistic Pet Organics plus add vegetables and/or fruits as a topper. They also get turmeric, marshmallow root extract with broadleaf plantain extract to help protect their G.I. tract. I have a senior corgi with bad allergies & the extracts help during allergy season.
Feed your dog or cat what they naturally are supposed to eat: MEAT. That is both lean and fat, which will have all the nutrients that they need. Neither humans nor dogs and cats are supposed to eat vegetables.
Humans can thrive & reverse disease on only plants... Dr. Brooke Goldner ... "Goodbye Lupus" ... the science proves her results with thousands!!! Just sayin'... (agreed.. dogs & cats.. MEAT)
I disagree - ever seen a dog eat grass? Grass is good for treating worms but they don't eat it because they are wormy - that's a fallacy. Pay attention to your dog - they will tell you a LOT!!!
@@JanaLemons-dl7tk You ought to know that dogs and cats eat grass when they have digestive problems from people feeding them inappropriate food, or they want to vomit to throw up a hairball.
So my dog always has his nose up in my food and I've recently learned that he likes cantaloupe😂 It makes me feel so happy watching him eat the food that I prepared for him with all the fresh vegetables.❤
I buy my dog pre-probiotics. I was kind of worried about the yogurt because of the lactose. Now I can make yogurt for my dogs using fair life milk. Because it’s lactose free. And you yield as much yogurt as you put in in milk!
I’m lucky I have a local butcher that makes several different type of meat blend with bone and organ meat. I usually get the beef and turkey. I add collard greens, broccoli, butter nut squash or sweet potato. I par cook the meat and steam the veg. I also use the liquid I steam with. eggs, sardines, safflower oil, organic blue berries. I get the veg cut small frozen from a local chef supply. I’m a cook by trade and have been doing this for my bull terrier since she was 5 months old. I add vitamin powder probiotics I get in bulk, ground flaxseed. I had my vet so a full metabolic blood panel on her and she was at the high end of the nutrition scale according to my vet.

I like your answer. Home cooked food-But how much do I serve my Lab and how much my Jack Russel?
I tried however I was never sure how many calories .. I would always end up using too much
It's never too late to change their diet. Plus, what I like from homemade dog food, no more tear stain.
Yes!! Me too, my pup never liked Kibble, so I also make homemade dog food. I give her one cup for breakfast and one cup for dinner.😊

Send us the recipe please 🙏
I make all of my dogs’ food in a crockpot the night before. My oldest is 16. I add turmeric and ground pepper every day. Thyme is a great anti parasitic herb. My Golden Retriever is almost 13. He still works as a therapy dog for a nursing home.
Yes, me too. I make one Pan meals for her, and she loves thyme and rosemary😊
Can you share your full recipe? Please🙏
What is the recipe
What a wonderful parent you are.🎉
You have very lucky dogs😊Mine are too
My 9 y.o. boxer had a baseball-sized angiisarcoma removed, and then my vet recommended no kibble.
Did you remove all leafy greens only or also sweet potatoes, apples, blueberries, etc.?

Our Pomeranian had a heart problem and we switched all his foods to these- even when it had to be made into mush the last months of his life. At one point, when he was getting a checkup early into the diagnosis, our vet says, "Whatever you're doing, keep it up- he looks great." We were blessed to have him for 2 more years.

Hi, Tula. Tula Tuesday here in the Philippines.❤
Yayyy! Hi
Probably it depends on the amount .... like with evetything.

@shirlielyall-rodgers251 Yes, I feed my dog homemade food with brown rice and brown rice with wild rice and sometimes white rice 😊

Forever in this man's debt, god bless you Dr Andrew Jones. Just managed to get a copy of your book, excellent information. Many thanks again.

Hoping you will comment on Organic Quinoa - I've switched from Organic Brown Rice to organic Quinoa to increase protein to my 110 pound lab (in addition to the veggies and meat)
Yes olive oil boiled chicken sardines salmon salmon oil and also one tablespoon white light yogurt 😊once a week broccoli or zucchini. Lots of water.
Thanks for sharing!!❤️

Huge Thank you ! Carrots are on the menu tonight. Mercedes unfortunately went to the bridge last Thursday from the subcutaneous hemangiosarcoma. Prayers for that shoulder !
Loved seeing Pippi in the intro. Thank you. ❤
What dry food are you feeding? Brand, flavor?
Thanks so much for all that you do!
What would you suggest for cats?

@@brendad3209 Bc its so many in the Store.
I Cant Imagine them All being horrible.
One has to be a little good
They all been on the market for ever.
@akiyiakelly Orijen has organ meat. I've read they've been bought out last year sometime i think and don't have to report any changes to the recipe up to 1-2 years. Hoping they haven't changed anything
@@aribeni8113 Thanks for the info.
I will look it up.

I am so sorry for the loss your baby. This is the most difficult part of having a fur baby. They don't live as long as we want them to.
Great Info Doctor!
Thank you for your willingness to share the truth!
God bless you Sir!!
Rice and chicken along with okra carrots and carry pata leaves with yogurt and fresh turmeric and ginger is what I always feed my dogs. I put other veggies from time to time.
Good morning, what dry kibble do you recommend?
Could you make a video like this for cats?
believe he said this was for dogs & cats...
Cats can't digest plants. They are obligate carnivores.
Thank you for your understanding.
Is this applicable for the cats' diets too
I’m new here!
What is the best kibbles??
Round-up is everywhere
It's nuts and should be outlawed
Spinach is full of oxalates !!
@canalroadadventures5079 Did'nt know about the hairball - thank you!
So my dog always has his nose up in my food and I've recently learned that he likes cantaloupe😂
It makes me feel so happy watching him eat the food that I prepared for him with all the fresh vegetables.❤
👍👍😎😎
I love this guy. He doesn’t know that I exist but me and my dogs consider him a family friend.
Thank you so much! 🥰
I make homemade jerky treats for my dogs that are seasoned with turmeric and cinnamon....they love it
Great idea :-)
I give them krill oil once a day as well.
Nice! ❤️
