Ready to stretch and relax with me? Let me take you through this 45 minute full body yin yoga practice. If you have a bolster please grab it but otherwise you can substitute it with two blocks or some pillows, couch cushions or folded blankets.
I'll take you through poses like supported fish, butterfly, shoelace with side bend, straddle, reclined knee to chest and supported bridge. This is suitable for all experience levels and by the end you should feel relaxed, rejuvenated and more comfortable in your body.
What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints.
There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.
1. Find your edge
2. Be still
3. Hold the pose
Find your edge means respecting your body's limits and not pushing too far and risking injury. Pull back a little bit and as you hold the pose you will be able to go deeper into it without pushing too far or hurting yourself.
Being still means that once you are in the pose it is important to completely relax your muscles so the benefits can get into the connective tissues and joints. Try not to fidget or move or distract yourself, this is a meditative practice. Breathe deeply in and out through the nose.
Holding the pose means that in Yin Yoga a pose can be held for 1-10 minutes depending on the pose performed and on the comfort level of the student.

My husband and I are really loving your classes. We are in our 60’s and our in person class was canceled in spring of 2020 due to Covid-19’s shutdowns. We have been faithful to continue our pray at home on our own and trying different videos. THEN I came across your teachings and we feel like we’re home. We are very impressed with your professionalism, warmth, clarity in speaking cues (hubby is hard of hearing), calm but encouraging demeanor. Most of all we love that you are also comfortable in Yim practice to not chat the entire time. The quiet is lovely. Your sequences are very well thought out and make sense which also adds to the enjoyment of your classes. I just realized after following your channel for years that my dogs are very attuned to what I am doing. They will pretty much leave me alone during yoga but they know when you chant ohm that I am done with class ! I keep the volume down very low but they must be listening to you too!

I'm usually pretty good with keeping my emotions "in check". Today at work though, it just came over me and I was close to crying. Can't remember when that last happened 😕
With everything that is going on around us again and a difficult job situation, it's been an emotionally draining couple of months.
This practice was perfect though. It grounded me, gave me comfort and some much needed inner peace.

I bought the most beautiful soft bolster and so I was more than delighted to see this. It felt so good. But my dog, a little white Maltipoo, always decides he needs to hump my foot any time I’m on my mat especially if my toes are pointed up, lol. It kind of disturbs my peace but it’s also hilarious.

Thank you Kassandra for your great and heterogeneous classes, especially the relaxing ones which are so good after long day at the office! It would be great to have a class only with standing yoga poses: when travelling I use the travel mat which is too thin, and as I am skinny, is quite painful to lean knees and sacrum against the floor. Sorry for the weird request, maybe someone else could find it useful. Namaste 🙏
I’ve been out of practice and went to my studio today and began searching your videos for an oldie Yin Yoga with props (I actually really enjoy using the props….LOL…..Because I need them) And found this new video of yours!
