The condition of the school is REALLY poor, I can confirm that. the bathrooms aren't even bathrooms. there more akin to a cesspool than a bathroom. most of the kids there are always either angry or depressed, which ends up leading to a lot of fights in the area. hell, some of the kids coined the term "fight Thursdays", since a lot of fights are held on that day. The higher up do absolutely nothing while a lot of the teachers end up being therapist for these kids. they're all overworked, underpaid and end up being chewed out by the higher ups for not doing work they aren't even supposed to be doing and when they do there work they are always taken away by the higher ups for "training" on work they already know how to do. and the worst part? they force the kids into these situations by forcing kids who shouldn't be in honors classes to be in honors classes so they don't have to take the New York state tests. For those of you that don't know, the NYST's are designed to see if the kids in a school comply to state standards, but they also reflect on the schools performance. and most of the kids in my school don't give a shit about school and are happy just grazing by. its horrible and most of the kids end up stressing out. My friend literally started prematurally greying during the end of 2nd quarter.
Our MacBooks are outdated and half don’t turn on. Your chrome books are assigned to you, we have to put back three of the MacBooks before we get one that actually will turn on.
Bruh I used to go to park avenue and I supposed to go to the westbury middle school but I ended up in the north anex with my friends but I stoping going to westbury middle school but the scary thing is that my little cousin she is 7th grade and is in westbury middle school and I am so shocked by this video and I do recognize the workers from park avenue and one more thing is that recognize some classrooms they showed bc of me being there for so long.
First off, expand the High School by expanding the 2nd story portion to make it qual to the footprint of the 1st floor. I imagine it being within the village of Old Westbury and not Westbury itself is the primary problem. Middle School, relocate the library next door and build on that entire block. For the smaller schools, K-5, same deal. Build on existing land. May require grants and tax increases but do it.
Ordinarily I would just say temporarily raise taxes if u need more money to build a bigger school but taxes are already way too high there so I don't know what you can do

Also you see white people and kids at westbury and there kids dont even go to the schools there they go to like hicksville or salisbury which technically is a part of westbury but like i said we’re diversed and thats like mostly a white school. Fun fact westbury used to be all white bc my teacher saw a yearbook like in 1900 something and it was mostly white and blacks and there was a huge fight or conflict between raises and it became diversed.
