I wish Activision would sell the campaign separately for 20-30 bucks, as it's the only thing I really enjoy from the newer CODs. I don't care for the multiplayer anymore and I just want the campaign.
im quite the opposite here... I very much want a recent cod game with offline solo mode with AI bots. For the classic, I already have one: MW3 with bot mod
When I was a kid, playing Arkham Asylum, Infamous, Enslaved, Mortal Kombat 9, Cod BO 2, GTA, etc, I would imagine game companies as these enthusiastic and passionate groups of hard working artists making games for the sole purpose of fun and enjoyment. NOW when I think of game companies, I think of conflicted individuals shoved into studio offices reluctantly programming away while marketing maniacs think of how much monetization they can extract from the “product”. Modern gaming just doesn’t get me excited like it used to. And I don’t mean to be that guy, but I think triple A gaming has lost sight of the real goal here.
You hit the donkey on the tail brother . Gaming back from 06-13 blew my child and teenage self away. Especially the Arkham series specifically Arkham City
Worst part of it is that the passionate people are still there, in the same companies, they just either aren't happy with upper management forcing their hand, or are newer and are enthusiastic about it simply because of the enjoyment they get out of the idea of working for a big company making a game for a series they loved as a kid. The latter will overlook the bad things because they wanted to make it and they put the effort into making it, and so they have an easier time appreciating the work that went into the final product and ignoring the genuinely terrible anti-consumer stuff, even if they acknowledge how bad that stuff is. It isn't "oh no its not bad at all, hand over money please" for the devs, its "okay, look, i know that there's a lot of bad stuff there, but that wasn't me and that wasn't the people i know who put that in, just check out how well we got the stuff we got to work on working!".
I dusted off my 360 when they reopened the servers for the old mw2 and black ops and couldn’t be happier. It reminded me just how bad all the new cods have been
yeah to my knowledge no cod servers have ever stopped. They just don't show the player count when you look for a game, and the player count is froze on cod 4, a bit different. Cod 5 still shows it.
@@YondoMoloni I’m not blaming any individual studios, I think it’s more pressure from Activision pushing them away from expressing creativity and towards optimizing the experience for monetization along with making them stay on a yearly release schedule.
It's also important to mention that most of the campaign gameplay they showed was on the old warzone map, which they will be using to add "open world" elements to it. They are just reusing assets all over this game
@@carlosbenitez6148yeah like if it’s character models or items but to pretty much rip all the assets to put into another title with barely and differences is very unnecessary and just stupid, that’s how studios fail because they would rather choose the copy paste route than make something that’s completely different with brand new mechanics making a completely new game I’m sure you wouldn’t want the overwatch 2 experience which I still says is basically overwatch 1.5 the games still have yet to be a successor title because of how little they’ve bothered to keep the promises they made
The fact that they had to bring back old maps from 2009 in order to save the game, tells you everything you need to know about the state of this franchise.
And to be real it’s not even like they’re “bringing them back” because we’ve had iw4x and shake package for a while and now the original mw2 servers are playable again.
@@spitfire3311 yeah but isn't the same as a remake. If this mw2 dlc was available at launch in 2022, that game could have been completely diferente. Such a missed opportunity.
Seeing PC gamers of all people praise the original MW2, when it literally killed CoD on PC by not having a server browser, mod tools, map making tools, etc, will never cease to amaze me. You gotta have terrible taste to think this game was good.
@@christiansmemefactory1513even PC gamers probably played MW2 on 360 or PS3, it's sales numbers on PC werent very good at all. Most people are judging MW2 on console experiences, which were top tier.
I'm an old school zombies fan, so my preference in zombies is round based and endless. I got my first taste in open world zombies maps in Cold War, and I can say for certain, please take me back. I also don't like having to end the game when I want to see how far I can make it with friends and randoms
I personally loved outbreak, but I only treated it like a spin-off mode (like Turned or Grief) and not the main draw of zombies. Even if people hated outbreak, at least Cold War still had 4 traditional maps to choose from. But now with MW3, we won't have that.
@@Deathmare235 80% of my time on Cold War was in Die Maschine and Firebase Z. But Outbreak offered a more laid back mode where you could work at your own pace.
What I really miss is being able to play local splitscreen zombies with your friend who came over to visit you at your house and not over the internet connection without a separate online account, that’s why black ops 1 zombies will always be the OG zombies experience because it was so simple and quick to boot up a game with your homie
well we just can't have that anymore because people playing locally via splitscreen aren't signed into their account playing on their own console with their own copy of the game and their own online subscription all of which they paid for and they definitely aren't spending money on DLC or microtransactions, you see.
@@themoops4006 that was the whole point, we didn’t have to pay money for an optimal but decent experience with your friends( other than paying for the game of course), you shouldn’t have to pay anything to be able to play with your friend who plugged in a second controller. You should be able to just plug in a second controller and that’s it. You shouldn’t even have to be online to play locally.
Crazy how you shared almost every single sentiment and opinion on the series as I do down to a T. I just wish they would remaster old CODs and let the OGs enjoy classic cod and even the kids could learn what the hype around those games were about..
There is no going back, they would lose a lot of money because there would be no outfit micro transactions packs or weapon gunsmith and a lot of other features.
They did that. MW remastered in 2017 and it was an absolute travesty because they added loot boxes and filled it with micro transactions then charged people for the map pack instead of including it in the base game. Trust me, we don't want that.
This game coming out only a year after MW2's release probably speaks for itself. Edit: Y'all can run wild in my thread, I want to see how far it goes. Lol.
@@EpicTyphlosionTV that was a rumour spread by "journalists" and cod UA-camrs. There never was an official source that said they would take a break and or sell mwIII as a premium dlc
Its actually really interesting that 90% of people I hear talk about the older CoD games stopped playing at BO2, myself included. The only reason I can think is it might have been a combination of people getting tired of the repetition and that was when PC gaming really took off. So people that used to play nothing but CoD on their consoles began to branch out to other genres that were more mouse and keyboard friendly.
It all really started with COD Ghost being mid asf and never really getting that much better bc of the bad maps, camper friendly design, and bad streaks. It's dlc was pretty solid, but there was a pretty distinctive shift in the overall feel for these games starting at Ghosts. After that game came out and no one cared for it, a lot of people and COD UA-camrs just shifted to Grand Theft Auto V at that point. There was a slight resurgence, kind of like an Encore for the good old days during Black Ops 3 because it was really fun and it came in during a time where hero shooters, like Overwatch, were making waves, but there were 2 things about that one. For starters, it was the beginning of the consistent what I call "carry based matchmaking," where every match of Black Ops 3 will have you going like maybe 20:8, while your whole team will go like 5:20. They've been constantly tweaking how the games match players since 2 games prior and it was around now that it was getting noticeable and annoying. Black Ops 3 is also where the series became more and more anticonsumer thanks to the Black Market until you reach peak greed at Black Ops 4, but the only reason why it got so progressively worse was bc of series fatigue, no one was really messing with COD very heavily then and while they were still profitable, they weren't as good as you'd expect from how golden the IP once was. Then you get into Modern Warfare 2019, which was another resurgence bc they actually made meaningful positive changes, only to immediately walk that shit backwards with pretty much every game after it with some of the worst matchmaking systems ever that have been in the making and games that literally look copy and pasted. It's so weird, I just kinda recall all of this off hand, not really caring about the franchise anymore. But it's always an interesting trip down memory lane
I think another factor was the new console generation. I'm sure people's gaming habits kind of change when they make that switch and COD would be an easy thing to ditch.
BLOPS 2 was the GOAT and forever will be. It was COD at its peak in performance, maps, modes, and story. Then we got Ghosts.....Albeit the campaign I enjoyed the MP and "aliens" failed to do it for me.
I think that the only reason they are adding zombies to the new cod is because they are worried that people arent going to buy it and they needed a selling point
My thoughts exactly which makes sense why they aren't updating DMZ right now, they used the mechanics of DMZ and using that for Zombies. Breaks my heart becuase I love extraction based shooters PvE and PvP. Zombies should be fun but for how long with only being PVE
this doesnt make sense bc more people are interested in multiplayer/wz than zombies and lets be real after cod next gameplay was streamed it was already an instabuy for any cod fan
Because they aren't dealing with the shit show that is Infinity Ward. Everyone knows it was going to be a year 2 DLC, but they fucked up MW2 rep with shit gameplay designs. So they scrapped it, and made it a full release. This is not a rumor or conspiracy, just the truth.
@@iTrinityPlaysyeah, infinity ward are really stubborn with ther design choices. If raven didn't take over completely of warzone in the cold war cycle i doubt we would even get the slightest of quality of life changes (how bad IW did the things with MW2 am defending Raven)

It might be my nostalgic goggles but I remember Cod 4, WaW, Mw2, BO was so satisfying to play because the majority of its player base were casual gamers who played when they had time. You'd run into the occasional try hard but it's not like now that you hop on and you're playing against squads who play the game 24/7 training for some tournament or playing for the twitch stream. Maybe I'm just bad at the game now but it's genuinely for me a crappy experience now in comparison to years ago when it was accessible for everyone

@@xbigbooshx4643 even so it was at least bearable until mw 2019. That’s when the Fortnite level sbmm came into play for warzone and they decided to add it to multiplayer.
Yeah I was very competitive in the older CODs but I liked to try weird/underutilized weapons for fun. Never been into META builds. Now anytime I try to play a newer COD SBMM kinda kills it for me. I also don't like the footstep audio in the new MW games. I used to like flanking but it is a lot harder to sneak up on enemies now.
@TheAtqthe30th same here. I always used the crap guns cuz they were fun. In CoD4 I used the G36c with double tap most of the time 😂. I was never god tier but I was above average. I think MW2 (original one) was my best with my KDR being 1.9 or something close to that. I think I averaged through the series a 1.7 or 1.8 kdr. MW2 (new one) I have a 1.08. The game isn't fun unless you play it EXACTLY what the meta is unless you are particularly skilled. I just wish I enjoyed it more but i don't.
If I remember correctly they were supposed to take this year off because they didn’t think they would have a game ready, but you know when the shareholders come calling, you put out a $70 nostalgia trap🤑
@@TechMage299 it’s really the publisher Activision calling the shots here. They need to be held accountable for sure. the devs really just work with the directions they are given, so I empathize with their struggle as I’m sure putting out a $70 DLC/Patch is not something they are proud of
@@TechMage299 I haven't bought a single Activision game since MW 2019. Unfortunately since they've been bought by Microsoft they'll never go under. Just got to hope Microsoft comes in and cleans house. But the won't cause they don't want to make the Twitter freaks upset.
Very good analysis. I think youtubers hyping up kids each year for basically recycled maps as you said, are part of the problem. Those youtubers, even when not paid, are often invited for exclusive content, which creates a conflict of interest in terms of unbiased criticism. Not to mention just content for their channel to begin with. But most people, especially young ones getting hyped over the game each year, don't necessarily comprehend this. The last COD I bought was Bo3. I just wait for them to be free on the PS plus now, lol. I got Cold War recently and been playing it. It's not bad for a free game.
the recent CODS have been good if you get them free and decent when you catch them on sale, seems like this one will be the same. It's unfortunate that they're charging $70 for a dlc.
idk where or when it dawned on me but i realized i wasn’t getting this iteration of cod and it was set in stone. and being in the mindset of it getting it, scrolling through twitter, the amount accounts that are trying to lure people into paying fir this is absolutely crazy
I gave up call of duty after block ops 3 and recently started playing again with covid and warzone. I will also never again buy a call of duty game. Starting 2025 cod games will be available on Xbox game pass so I’ll have those for no additional cost and I don’t feel the need to purchase a cod game when they are giving me (in my opinion) their most fun modes for free to play.
As someone who only really liked playing CoD multiplayer back in the OG Modern Warfare's it is still sad to see the multiplayer be in the state it is in now...
MW 2019 felt like such a major leap forward for CoD. It was finally getting put on a new engine, so it genuinely felt brand new. The part that I didn't think about back then - if the engine is good - they're gonna use it for the next 10 CoD games. Lo and behold, the past 4 CoD games have all looked and played incredibly similar to eachother.
cold war wasnt on the same engine, it used the one from black ops 4, i guess thats why i liked it the most, it felt the most arcadey and casual of the last 3
$90 plus $10 every few months for a new battlepass, so you’re looking at about $150 if you don’t buy ANY micro transactions. And with all the shit they shove down your throat..yeah.
Treyarch zombies is still treyarch zombies, since WaW we only get round based zombies in a Treyarch game, also Activision confirmed we are getting round based zombies at some point. But you dont go and okay a black ops installment and be mad that they have Nuketown instead of Shipment, because thats the way it always has been.
MW 2019 was truly one of the best COD games. The graphics, gunplay, music, mechanics, sounds everything felt like it was made with passion. MW2 2022, MW3 2023 feel like hollow from the inside. Not the same premium feel while playing these games.
BO2 was where I stopped playing COD. It just didn't feel like it had the draw that got me into playing COD after that. I will still always love BO1. Wagers and the currency system that felt actually rewarding and getting unlocks felt good when you finally got it.
Because BO2 was when it went "corporate" and started catering to pro players, the maps started getting more "clean" (less debris and realism, more polished and artificial feeling)
BO2 was the last real cod i enjoyed playing for a full year, then ghost... i played like 50hrs and gave up. way later i bought mw19 and played around 150-200hrs. and finally mw2 for like 15hrs because its shit. i gave up hoping cod would be good again
bo3 was my favorite multiplayer lmfao i loved how most guns were actually fair and it was more reliant on aim rather then camping in a corner lol (well untill dlc guns)
My favorite Call of Duty was Black Ops. I remember Black Ops 1 being celebrated as recently as a few months ago. To my knowledge, Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2009, and the original Warzone where you got to play Snoop Dogg and beat up Godzilla in a biplane? Those were peak Call of Duty.
I remember when the big complaints back then was about activision reusing their own assets and animations for each title, but the difference is that those games were solely unique from one another. This new shit is hard to discern from one another, at this point im considering these as updates to mw2019 with a fat price tag for an excuse
Unpopular opinion: They should have used the Cryptids from Extinction instead of zombies, open world or not. They didn't have to call Treyarch for a sevond mode, yet they did it solely for the reputation their zombies have.

I didn’t really see it mentioned anywhere in the comments but, the “open world zombies” looks exactly like the Cold War zombies mode. Random objectives that make you clear out the infestation or defend something and zombies attack, literally just the Cold War mode on a different reused map.
Bro I'm surprised he didn't mention that there are cheaters already in the Playstation only beta as well as the zombie's community hates what they're doing you could even see the pain in NoahJ's face when he was talking about it not having rounds and that it's a multiplayer focused mode meaning it's near impossible to do solo, I'm gonna go ahead and bet that you probably won't even be able to play the zombies mode offline as well.
Thank you muddahar, I have been feeling like I'm insane for this. It's crazy seeing this happen year after year and people still defending them and buying the games. They can't get zombies right, they can't get multiplayer right, they want to be Fortnite with a battle pass and crazy wacky characters. I feel like I'm in some dystopia!!
I think one thing here is that sledgehammer is focusing this mp experience on comp play after the success last year of ranked play, and from the perspective of the comp community, this is one of the best MP's in a few years. Best TTK in cod titles in general, slide cancelling is back, a dev crew that seems to be listening to the community again, fun gunplay...it seems minimal from a casual fan's perspective, but if you see people singing MW3 praises and don't understand why, that might help shed a light on it.
I honestly felt similarly when the original mw3 came out. I litterally got it for half price because a guy I worked with was pissed it was the same game as mw2. And he was basically right.
It's so sad because the original MW3 was my favorite cod of all time. I still miss the system where you had the 3 different killstreak categories. It provided the perfect gameplay for every level of player.
Yes! MW3 is not one of my favorites, but even I think the killstreak system they had there was VERY interesting and should've been improved upon in future games.
@@mart5610 it deserves to be overrated though, it was super random, mw3 just got rid of that randomness, but the design made it look brown. MW2 had MUUUCH clearer silhouettes to spot people
I feel like part of the issue is if they went back and made a game that had a similar movement system to the older cods and the more simplistic weapon mechanics, people would say it's outdated and feels like an old game. I'm curious to see how something like that would turn out. It just seems to me like no matter what they release, people just revert back to their previous opinion. They have us futuristic shit, we begged for realism, they gave us realism, and then we begged for arcadish again. It's just a cycle at this point. It would be nice to see them stop forcing micro transactions so God damn much though that for sure is a fact.
Last year was the first time I bought a Call of Duty in a decade because how much I loved the original MW2. I can't believe they really want to move on after a year.

@@kurienkard When I saw the trailer for MW3 and the mission was 'Soap on a Rope' my first thought was that was the other half the game I thought I bought.
The whole reason I bought MW2 remake is because they promised story dlc and of course, THAT WAS A LIE! They put the story dlc in mw3 remake lol. They know they have to do every shady tactic in the corrupt game dev handbook in order to sell this garbage.
I think the problem with cod is they don’t let the game have a life cycle before pushing out the next everyone was so happy when they heard mw2 was gonna be 2 years and instantly become angry when it was announced that mw3 would release the year after maybe if they started focusing on one game before the next it would improve cod’s status
Partly true. Ppl were happy MW2 was gonna be 2 years UNTIL they saw how shit it was and that they holding on to the ogMW2 maps to release as (expensive) DLC. Them opting to divert resources to turn the DLC into a full game makes way more sense than them trying to keep MW2 (which was hemhorraghing players after a month) on life support for 2 years. As you basically said, the biggest benefit of having a 2yr cycle is supposed to be giving devs time to focus on one thing and build a full game instead of releasing a rushed mess they spend 10 months patching then abandon. IW was given 3yrs to make MW2, still released trash, and refused to fix it in any meaningful way. So Activision basically had no choice but to make Sledgehammer pump out a glorified DLC under a new title in 6 months. And given that context and the alternatives, gamers and Mutahar should be bashing MW2, not MW3.
Even mw2 made me cringe like laswell saying we can’t kill Hassan cuz they would frame us as bad guys and we demolished a Mexican town school football field but ofc not the church but now that they have him they couldn’t kill him laswell became a lame fk even price after telling farah that graves tried to kill his entire team and farah just ignores him price should’ve threatened her but no she says I hope u trust me and he says implicitly like my guy he’s a dumbass and it’s fkn price
I think something worth noting, a lot of the lead developers that established older CODs core gameplay have since left. Likely due to Activision's dubious business practices. It's pretty telling how bankrupt of ideas current COD has since reusing the same maps, or poorly designed 3-lane maps from the last half decade.
I honestly just want a game that’s ironed out at launch, has a wide variety of maps at launch, and a variety of reverts back to old cod games like map voting and so forth. Unfortunately, this is just me coping over a franchise that’s far gone from what made it great.
It's fan base is 30+ old gamers that have moved on. You know when it came out for the PS1. When COD only competition was medal of honor. But keep using your ignorance at max.
I'm embarrassed for CoD fans these days. I think the majority of them are young, so "staying up to date" with their friends encourages them to buy it. And the quality and content just degrades more and more.
@@peterk.2108 Yeah those same players are also what ruined the gameplay lol. All a bunch of 12 year olds playing Warzone, and now they take that Warzone play style, and use it for multiplayer. Which is just camp central gameplay. IW devs did more to also help that as well though.
To say MW 2019 is top 3 really overlooks a lot of it's problems. We love to think back to a title with fond memories, but you could literally open the terminal and disable trees... We like to forget about the gun stats and how a single sniper (unlocked via the battlepass) was hitscan and had wall penetration through the roof before they fixed it at a later date (not sure about this one, could have been mw2. the titles are all so similar that it's hard to tell for me) I have plenty of clips that clearly show me beaming someone in the chest point blank without a hitmarker so top 3 is erk'n me. What they really managed to do well were the graphics and the movement, but unfortunately even with the content of the old game, they just couldn't make it feel the same because of audio and connectivity issues.
The sbmm and people camping in corners were enough for me to uninstall a couple days after launch. Activision saw that as their peak in the last 5 years and ran with it now every new cod is just a worse mw 2019
Worst map selection in the franchise. every game mode is just not fun except snd, gun fight, and infection. Trash gun balance no prestige system camo challenges are so boring also horrible camos
The maps were pretty bad generally, but there was enough decent ones for me like Hackney Yard and Gun Runner that enabled me to just fly through them and bet that fast paced action like a hot knife through butter with the newer Dead Silence. It wasn't a total campfest, but it was pretty strong then. I'm not gonna lie, I also kind of love the claymores in that game, they are so hilariously overpowered
It's a $70 DLC. Sledgehammer had 3 years to make it and they did nothing at all. Maps are from 2009, Zombie is made by Treyarch and all recycled assets, ranked is also made by treyarch, and most of the guns are from MW2022. They made a campaign and that's it.
Mw22 gotta be the worst designed cod ever, bad maps, no map voting, trash perk package system, overly complicated attachments/gunsmith, all guns are just variations of the same 5 guns, no red dots on mini map, no silent footsteps, horrible UI navigation, overtuned sbmm, lobbies disbanding after every match, crazy visual gun recoil... I could go on. Its bad, people desperately want to move on and what Activision is doing is extremely grimey
It's wild how much people are hyping up MWIII right now, when I can almost guarantee two to three months after launch they'll be saying it's the worst CoD ever. They're endlessly trapped in the CoD cycle.
It’s interesting because I remember getting so hype for new maps in BO2 and BO3. Great time with friends too. However that was back I was teen and nothing to do in my spare time. Nowadays I barely play competitive multiplayer because I feel it’s soulless with the live service approach in other games. For example Halo Infinite and Overwatch 2. It’s feels that are no real awards for levelling up either. Gaming has change in that nostalgia is the main focus for franchise like COD which Muta brings up. I know people who refuse to buy FIFA yet they buy it anyway. I feel it’s so rare for a new original IP to stand out in the market. Most of the best selling games are yearly release like FIFA, Assassin Creed, COD. Even if these games are filled with barely content, bugs and glitches. People will still defend these games and yet they will sell good anyway. I feel for the developers who may what to use their ideas and are under time crutch.
Former COD pro here... the RIGGED GUNFIGHTS are out of this world, the ILLUSION OF COMPETITION has been bad for years and it keeps getting worse. The better player you are, the harder the gunfight parameters become... to the point of LITERAL FORCE FIELDS around players, dmg and hitbox nerf, speed and animations nerfs, footstep audio rigging... i could go on... You dont need to see any of the patents or endless lawsuits surrounding ILLUSION OF COMPETITION to see whats LITERALLY BLATANT and not hidden in the slightest!!! Most arent ready to see how dark and deep this goes, the money only leads you to the puppets, not the puppet masters who run all the industries under the sun!!!
Correction: they use the upcoming Urzikstan map for the zombies mode, not Al Mazrah, doesn't matter tho, I suspect the mode won't be popular among the fans. And yes, weapon platforms are returning, meaning you'll have to unlock Gun A to access Gun C and so on
To be fair outbreak is pretty fun tho only issue is it's replayability can be limited at times. A little disappointed to see that we're just getting the warzone map, but hopefully they add more stuff this time around
COD and Fifa fans who mindlessly buy these games every single year without a second thought deserve to feel scammed when the games turn out to be shit. If a true fan cares about COD and Fifa, they should vote with their wallets and not buy these games until they start to put actual effort again, the only language Activision and EA understand is money, but sadly this won't ever happen
Honestly when it comes to the maps, they can put the older maps sure that’s fine. However they can be Favela v1, then Favela v2 would be essentially the same location but a different area nearby v1. They could have different versions of maps where one can be a three lane one or another could be a 2 lane or a full out shoot out map. It would be interesting to see different maps variety via different map locations. They could add something else where we could play on v1 but when teams switch sides people would play on v2 or vice versa. I dunno, that’s just my take on maps where they could just have different versions of the maps so they don’t waste there time on theme, creating new assets etc and potentially having more time to plan other unique maps. That’s just my take on it.
The CoD meta being so focused on subtle movement mechanics is just weird. It doesn't fit the Solider-man boots on the ground aesthetic and it's really half-assed. It's like adding turbo to a mini-van instead of just getting a race car. Why did Titanfall have to die?
I think we tend to forget that an entire generation of gamers didn't experience MW2 2009 at its peak. I would say anyone born after 2000, so I'm not very upset that they are bringing back all of these maps for MW3
Still I’m pretty sure they have mw2r ready to release, don’t know why they don’t release it they’ll get a lot of money and can even get away with making it a full priced game
I'm gonna be honest, I think about COD like an iPhone. I don't need to buy the new one every year, but wait like 4-5 years between upgrades. I played COD 4, BO1, BO2, BO4, & BO:CW. Having never played any of the other Modern Warfares (1,2,3) this game looks really interesting to me. It's a remake of a legendary game that I can play and enjoy in the modern day and the gunplay feels a lot better than Cold War. I feel like it's a real upgrade, so if I enjoy the beta, I think I'll end up buying the game anyways.
Difference is Apple supports iPhones for 5+ years with their software updates and such. COD just drops their support for games after a year and even worse basically ignores any security issues with their servers at that point while still selling the game at full price
@@byeetch true and I think this is fair, but I'm also still playing Cold War to this day when I feel the need to get a COD fix. I haven't felt a need to buy a new one yet, but I think Cold War is definitely reaching it's EOL for me. I think they should continue to update these games, especially with security patches. I'm just saying I still see the value in purchasing the new COD every few years and I'm definitely getting $60 worth of value when combining the multiplayer and campaign.
I agree with this video for the most part my only disgreement is something that im probably in the minority on but I liked how unlocking attachments in MW2 2022 worked. It promoted using a variety of weapons instead of just using the base M4 all the time and meant that instead of having to unlock the same red dot 50+ times if you were going for the mastery camo. Sure there were some (not all) attachments that were mechanically copy pasted but they were visually different which was nice since you could throw on different looking parts and have your gun look how you want without mostly having to worry about having the most meta parts. Only thing i disliked were red dots reducing ads time. Modern red dots weight nothing compared to most other things you are going to put on your gun and aid you in faster target acquisition and re-acquiring your target compared to iron sights since you have a single point of aim.
Completely agree! I loved World at War and got so excited when i beat it and you unlocked Zombies mode for the first time ever. played COD4 on PC and 360 and played/bought every COD game and DLC from 4 all the way to B02 (which i loved BO/BO2) During the summer Sony got hacked right when BO2 was poppin, I played the shit out of MW2 and BO2 on 360 that summer when PS3 users couldn't play. And "Mob of the Dead" zombies with Ray Liotta and the other 3 was absolutely amazing. I think we got to lvl 142 on zombies after playing all day Long, since the little missions and Easter eggs like the Golden spoon (which was a one hit melee kill) were so in depth and well designed to look identical to Alcatraz.
I previously bough every entry because I genuinely enjoyed the MP and Zombies mode. The tail end of MW2 2022 got me to wipe it off my system and blacklist MW3 2023 after IW/Activision made their longer term goals clear with that VC Ban AI. Fuck having a 24/7/365 autobanning AI decoding what was "toxic". Banking on the nostalgia is a terrible strategy to have when trying to sanitize the community and make everything UA-cam Kids compliant.
We were so close to getting a 2 year cycle. MW2 is great now, another year of content would've been amazing. I would've paid £25 for a new campaign and £25 for the remastered maps, just to keep it all in ONE game
@@tmhamoty Nothing that couldn't have been sorted with a patch or two. My point is we don't need a new game, we're losing so much, DMZ etc, they should've just refined MW2 and left MW3 until 2025
Just played MWIII multiplayer, it pains me that 2019 is still as the last good cod. There is absolutely nothing that made me surprised about MWIII except how bad it looks compared to the last one. If i was to put it in simpler words, every new MW feels like a bootleg to 2019.
I never would've thought that people would buy a modern COD game, but then again, you have people buying UBISOFT's Assassin's Creed: Mirage, which is an obvious Valhala DLC lmao
The best CoD ever for me was World at War (5). I have the most memories with it, played the most hours online and definitely Nazi Zombies were the best.
What’s worse is that MW2 on steam for many users now (me included) has now stopped working/launching for people who PAID to play the fucking game. Ever since it’s been updated to “Call of Duty HQ” in preparations for MW3, the game just doesn’t even open for users on steam or battle net alike… and so far there’s no real fix for it even after uninstalling and reinstalling the fucking game 3 times So naturally, the robbery feels even more real than it was before because now it’s just data you can’t do anything with that we paid good money for and can’t fucking refund
It's funny how k* little ones in a game is a big no no and off limits but doing it in real life is completely okay and not something to think about, F* this life man.
Honestly outside of the original MW3 and BO2 I didn't care much for CoD, Ghosts was OK but felt lacking and beyond that the games just seem to get progressively worse.
I wanted the old MW2 maps though, those are some of the best maps ever released in MP gaming imo, I preordered it precisely because the lineup is the original 16 MW2 maps, yeah its basically a MW2 DLC but so what, its still a smoother release than MW2 (2022), where it was a MW 1 2019 dlc but you didn't get to keep all the cosmetics and old content
@@joshuafowe159 to re-experience those legendary old maps but with a fresh new player base, crossplay and the shooting mechanics of the new cods? You're goddamn right, I just wish they'd ease it on the micro transactions, they're awful quality and way way overpriced, but then again I don't buy em

Mw2 has an amazing co op imo, I did them all with a buddy and each mission was fun and unique like guarding youre friend in a chopper or dropping into a LZ in the middle of the night was really cool its just sad they didnt add upon it
Meh. The raids, co-op, etc had some promise but were even more half-baked and neglected than in MW19 lol. My friend that loves that sort of stuff and put hundreds of hours into spec-ops on MW19 quit early into MW2 as DMZ got reset, raids and special event/easter eggs were hardly worthwhile, and co-op was super buggy and lacked content.
Maybe I’m getting old but I miss when shooters felt fun in a genuine way, one that didn’t make you question it’s design. Battlefield 2042 feels the same as COD now, there’s just an identity missing and I can’t even get past the main menu before wanting to close it because it’s just so uninteresting & uninspired
So I got this recommended after watching a short Titanfall 2 video. And I randomly scroll to 5:01 and hear Titanfall mentioned. Time to get the pills or something.
i loved the unique old update to the new update. old was random and teleport to new locations in-game. new was more linear and accelerated the funness in completing rounds from 1-whatever for how far you can go without losing. however IF A GAMER MISSED the old update there might be a bit of pain in your life now. and i probably made it worse mentioning it good luck hacking ps5 and XSX.
Yeah except outbreak was an additional mode to play zombies, this looks like no effort put in, it looks like a warzone event with zombies thrown in there.
Many thanks for this video you got everything spot on, finally a video explains how things really are. heck I still play CoD4 with CoD4X Mod-Warfare mod, it adds all maps from CoD4 MW1 from 2007, CoD: MW2 from 2009 and CoD MW3 from 2011 plus maps & weapons from Black Ops 1 & 2, it's free to use and I am still having a great time, there is also a mode to train against bots and the ranked server system is still there thanks to various classed servers still being a thing. As for CoD MW2 2009 I agree i played this game to it's fullest I still play it from time to time as I was disappointed with CoD MW II 2021, that game is just a disappointment and an insult to what the actual game was back in '09, just the Marketing garbage that is spammed within it it ruins the vibe a lot, it's all about cash grabs and stealing money from us hard working people that just want to play a simple damn game... This is the main issue of all new gen game the Micro transactions the false forced marketing kind of close to what gambling was as with the loot crates, but worse because it' s kind of bending that rule in that sense. Development is lazy and stupid these days and this is why I mostly stick to CoD4X and MW2 (2009) Black Ops Cold War was fun indeed it's Onslaught mode can be fun with a good bunch of friend but it's multiplayer is kind of meh imo, best Black Ops was the first one, just a good game with a good leveling up system and no trashy micro transactions.
The worst thing, the DLC situation will stay like that. They already announced they'll use the unified IW engine they used for mw2 mw2019 and now mw3. Which means Treyarch's vibrant and arcade-like characteristics will be gone forever. I always prefered treyarch's CoD over Modern Warfare.
i used to love ghost because of how good the ai was playing solo if they wouldve at least made the current ai intelligent i probably would buy mw3 so i could play casually i cant sweat all day everyday
Ughhhh the amount of casuals in the comments is killing me. This is finally one of the best cods we’ve had since CW (I play and follow competitive ever since the original COD4). This is the best movement and ttk we’ve had in years and there is finally a noticeable skill gap again with reduced aim assist and slower time to kill. The devs have been actively adjusting and balancing perks and weapons even though it’s just a beta which is a great sign. Also Muta has the dumbest take ever when it comes to ranked play. The pro cdl is so tight and impossible to get into since there are only 12 teams in the league because of the incredibly high buy in (25-30 million dollars for a franchise spot). The challengers circuit and a lot of the pros in the scene this year came from grinding out ranked play and being the best. There are world champions and top players waiting years for spots in the league again just because of how difficult it is to get into the league. The league has only 48 players and it’s very political. The best players in the world came from ranked. Just because Muta is bad at the game and a casual doesn’t mean that others are.

Still pissed we never got an infamous port

@@nickhard7615 SBMM is a big reason I stopped playing COD at BO3. Haven't gotten a brand new COD since.

BLOPS 2 was the GOAT and forever will be. It was COD at its peak in performance, maps, modes, and story. Then we got Ghosts.....Albeit the campaign I enjoyed the MP and "aliens" failed to do it for me.

I don’t see the problem with that
Its the same engine, just heavily upgraded. Still has the same core netcode problems.
cold war wasnt on the same engine, it used the one from black ops 4, i guess thats why i liked it the most, it felt the most arcadey and casual of the last 3

To say MW 2019 is top 3 really overlooks a lot of it's problems. We love to think back to a title with fond memories, but you could literally open the terminal and disable trees...

What I miss the most is modding the game. I had so much fun with friends playing CoD WaW custom zombies. Now it's just all online service games.

I swear Activision is just not letting treyarch use their full power

I mean, yeah, but thats only good if you play a lot if CoD, which is a deal braker for anyone older than 13
The battlepass dilema, as i call it
Completely agree!
I would've paid £25 for a new campaign and £25 for the remastered maps, just to keep it all in ONE game
i would agree with you but mw2 has terrible recoil and movement that is so unplayably slow it rewards angle holding like you’re playing a tac shooter
@@tmhamoty Nothing that couldn't have been sorted with a patch or two. My point is we don't need a new game, we're losing so much, DMZ etc, they should've just refined MW2 and left MW3 until 2025
Not every cod needs to be a sweat fest
@@playerroku4412 well Activision is directly contradicting that statement with sbmm😂
@@tmhamoty 🤷🤷🤷👀🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷 you said it was slow. I responded to your comment 🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷
I have the most memories with it, played the most hours online and definitely Nazi Zombies were the best.
call of duty never fails to disappoint
What’s worse is that MW2 on steam for many users now (me included) has now stopped working/launching for people who PAID to play the fucking game.
Ever since it’s been updated to “Call of Duty HQ” in preparations for MW3, the game just doesn’t even open for users on steam or battle net alike… and so far there’s no real fix for it even after uninstalling and reinstalling the fucking game 3 times
So naturally, the robbery feels even more real than it was before because now it’s just data you can’t do anything with that we paid good money for and can’t fucking refund
Like fuck…
It's funny how k* little ones in a game is a big no no and off limits but doing it in real life is completely okay and not something to think about, F* this life man.
k*???
@@Skeeonnadash Killing* I used it like that so UA-cam doesn't censor the comment.
This dude is a whistleblower at this point. Godspeed man godspeed
MW3 is a retro DLC with 15 yrs old graphics
Honestly outside of the original MW3 and BO2 I didn't care much for CoD, Ghosts was OK but felt lacking and beyond that the games just seem to get progressively worse.
I wanted the old MW2 maps though, those are some of the best maps ever released in MP gaming imo, I preordered it precisely because the lineup is the original 16 MW2 maps, yeah its basically a MW2 DLC but so what, its still a smoother release than MW2 (2022), where it was a MW 1 2019 dlc but you didn't get to keep all the cosmetics and old content
70 dollars.
The fact that they added all of the og mw2 maps feels so desperate.
The OG MW2 maps is literally the only reason I’m buying this cod!
@@AngelSonevskithen quit supporting the actual devs because they ruined the ability of a 100% free version of this from ever happening
Ran by fans and for fans but greedy corporate titans hate pleasing the fan base
unfortunately Muta, cod fanboys are so delusional, they'll still be draining their hard earned cash just to play it, and then sometime later they'll forget about the game, it's an ongoing cycle they just refuse to break away from
Mw2 has an amazing co op imo, I did them all with a buddy and each mission was fun and unique like guarding youre friend in a chopper or dropping into a LZ in the middle of the night was really cool its just sad they didnt add upon it
Who knew it was an MW2 expansion pack in disguise!
So I got this recommended after watching a short Titanfall 2 video. And I randomly scroll to 5:01 and hear Titanfall mentioned.
Time to get the pills or something.
I am excited for the Zombies as well as the Campaign. It sounds like it is similar to Outbreak which I loved.
i loved the unique old update to the new update. old was random and teleport to new locations in-game. new was more linear and accelerated the funness in completing rounds from 1-whatever for how far you can go without losing. however IF A GAMER MISSED the old update there might be a bit of pain in your life now. and i probably made it worse mentioning it good luck hacking ps5 and XSX.
Yeah except outbreak was an additional mode to play zombies, this looks like no effort put in, it looks like a warzone event with zombies thrown in there.
MW3: Worst graphics than MW19
Muta put in more effort in the video than activision put in effort into making the game
I always love the campaigns for games but when they went ultra futuristic they lost me I was playing since day one with cod 1/2
Advanced warfare was one of my favs,Apart from that the rest suck
This is the main issue of all new gen game the Micro transactions the false forced marketing kind of close to what gambling was as with the loot crates, but worse because it'
s kind of bending that rule in that sense.
Development is lazy and stupid these days and this is why I mostly stick to CoD4X and MW2 (2009) Black Ops Cold War was fun indeed it's Onslaught mode can be fun with a good bunch of friend but it's multiplayer is kind of meh imo, best Black Ops was the first one, just a good game with a good leveling up system and no trashy micro transactions.
i wish we had mature, empathetic, caring franchise owners that would carry this franchise to the glory it could have been.
Yes he explains how things really are, but he also just turns the other side and buys the game.
All this bitching for what
The worst thing, the DLC situation will stay like that.
I still play against COD Ghost bots when I need my occasional COD fix.
You look like the type of person who would play call of duty every year
Welcome to another episode of: "COD disappoints its fans for the upteenth time"
yeah its getting old its not going to change
Idk a lot of the og cod fans are loving the beta
