By far, the best landscape channel on UA-cam. Nobody provides more for the landscape business owner than you. You may not have the most subscribers or views, but you truly have provided more for my business personally than any other guy out there showing equipment and tools for views. I truly appreciate you, Mike. You are the best!

I had a similar scenario to you. I went to college for kinesiology and most of my classmates went on to PT or medical school. I took a job in a lawn care company mowing grass that first summer out of college and never stopped. Now I own the company and am doing well, 13 years later. A few of my classmates were shocked that I went this route but oh well. Can’t spend your life trying to fulfill other people’s plans for you.
Great work and thank you for everything!

Watching your videos, taking notes, and implementing your advice has made me realize how many people don't know what they're doing when starting a business because of how social media has portrayed entrepreneurship. Little things like not being able to tell me what their profit margin is/was for a job or not knowing what COGS even is. I did not realize it until I started following you.

I've been working for myself for over 20 years flipping houses and now doing contracting. I am a small guy, 3-4 full time guys plus all my subs. I agree, owning a business is not for everyone. Half the time it is mundanely soul crushing. Only maybe 10% of it is actually enjoyable. I question my life decisions all the time. I am over 40, there's certainly no turning back for me. I'm happy but I could definitely be happier. I'll never really know if I made the right choices.

I strive to thrive in uncomfortable situations when I know others will benefit from my discipline. Along the way I’m seeing the benefits personally! Thank you for being the great leader you are and keep pushing forward! You are the man!

Hey Mike thanks for sharing. you’re almost half my ages and the most influential business leader in my life, I always find you so inspiring. I wish you were around 20 years ago. My life would be so much great then it is now. My day just isn’t complete without a little bit Mike Andes. I listen to you everyday and try an implement as much as I can. You have made such a difference to me. Which has given me the drive to do so much better. Once I was happen just pushing a mower now with your help I have gone from $60k a year turnover to this year we are on track to make the $350-400 mark, with a goal of 3 million within 4 years. I could not have done this your advise. The lawn care industry world wide (I’m from Australia) is much better for having you. Keep it up mate you have already change the world of home service for the better. Thank you for everything you done. I’ll keep listening to you implementing and taking action.

Mike I love this video. Just turned 18 and got an LLC for my business. I’ve thought about AI and creating a CRM for people down the line until I seen this video.
Don’t worry I’ll find another UVP to grow and compete with you one day.
Keep an eye out for Potters’ Landscape Property Maintenance. 🤙🏽take care and keep up the amazing work!

Thank you for sharing your story, and how you got to where you are today. I needed this video, and it definitely spoke to me as an entrepreneur in lawn care as well. I hope to scale my business, as you have, in the future. I would love to meet you one day and just have a conversation about the industry, and where it can and will go.

Mike, you're legit the smartest person I "know'. Most people your age are nowhere near as successful and it may not mean a lot coming from me but don't worry about failing. You have personally helped me a lot and I honestly hope to do a 1/10th of what you have done. You are on the right path if you ask me, a doctor can only do so much, you are helping people from all walks of life making better decisions and personal life. I'm glad you dropped out of college lol.

This video couldn't have come out at a better time. Because these last few days/weeks/months have been tough..really tough.. and I've run up against various walls that I did think I'd be able to break through. The biggest one I'm running up against is finding good employees.. and I knew a year and a half ago this was going to be a major issue and it didn't matter how I prepared myself for it.
Anyway, Mike just a super video at a good time. You used a lot of adjectives to try and describe what we go through.
If I was to use one word that I think best describes it.. I would say sacrifice. To be successful, to break down barriers, and to achieve new levels. It all comes down to making a ton of sacrifices. And the list of the sacrifices we've made is in the hundreds. I think that's why when we don't succeed at something the first time we run up against it that's why the situation hits us so hard and can send us into major depression, because we look back at all the things we have sacrificed to get where we are today.
This is my second time around so to speak. The first time I tried to grow the business, I had similar issues. And after a time I decided just to scale back and go solo. I kick myself now for doing it, because for me, the goal is to not be out in the field forever, and the only way to achieve that is by growth. I've gone through six employees in the past 4 months,. At this point I've just decided it's a numbers game. Eventually if I throw enough employees through the funnel some have to stick.
Sorry for the long post.. your topic just hit home

Hey Mike have you considered donating the ad revenue towards a good cause. What the kids in Africa you helped the money could go towards someone that is helpless. I think everyone would be in line and support that decision. It’s better than google getting the money.
Thanks for sharing your story. Have a good day.

Do you use any medical field knowledge on a daily basis in your current life or business?
An example of a similar situation is how Steve Jobs took a calligraphy class in college which influenced the Macs font design
