I love your channel and so much enjoy your humor and interaction. You make me laugh and I so appreciate your videos and sharing your garden , kids, pups and hubby. Keep on smiling and bring on the sarcasm......your audience loves it. ❤️
Love love LOVE THEIR BANTER - It just makes me smile and gush over how they love on each other so much. I can tell they are great friends and loving partner
Shelly (is that how you spell it?) I (and anyone else who is friends with their husbands and have a sense of humor), can plainly see AND LOVE THE FACT, that he’s playing with you! Y’all play with each other just like my hubs and I do. Constantly laughing and picking at each other is the funnest part of our marriage. As for the comment about using your platform to advocate for domestic violence, you know what? Sometimes we need a break from all the heavy and awful things in the world and that’s why we go to the garden! Not that it’s not important or that we ignore it, but my gosh, let’s just be in the garden enjoying beauty and the plants. Like B said, people some don’t have a sense of humor these days.
@@mysoutherngarden Agreed! We are just such goofy and sarcastic people... I cannot imagine going through life without laughing and poking each other about things once in a while!

Pretty sure your husband wouldn't be the fabulous camera man, if he wasn't a good guy, sounds like you married a Costanza 😊 I think all the changes you made last autumn, are looking great this summer, I especially like the stone bench in the new area. If I lived near you I'd come for the tour, living alone, I could chat til you told me to get out. You guys all have a wonderful weekend.
Your yard is beautiful. I could not plant anything until Memorial Day in Massachusetts, your yard is way ahead of most gardens. Down here in Georgia, we are cooking. I’ve got to first say Shelley, your hair is absolutely gorgeous and so are you! You guys are so hilarious. I definitely have the same banter with my husband, it actually maybe worse lol. Course you guys gotta keep your channel clean. I love that about you guys. Idk where the hell people are getting domestic violence from y’all’s conversations. WTH…🤪 crazy yes. My garden is going the same way. Spent 4 hours watering this morning, tons of weeds and the pests are out of control including the dogs breaking chit running through trying to play in the hose or going nuts for deer. So I’ve let the Japanese beetles get away from me while planting the big berm flower bed past week. I think I’ve got 50 on one rose and they’re just everywhere. Can they be worse some years? Oh and I’ve got a big fat rabbit eating the tops off my coneflowers I just planted. Irrgh… i can definitely relate to the garden whoas. I love your gardens so much! It was definitely my inspiration for the front flower bed. Course it’s going against my neighbors perfect suburban foundation shrubs and lawn cuz mine is a wild butterfly garden. But I love it. Thanks for sharing your garden tour made my day. :) Have a happy 4th of July!
Thank you! And yes... some years the pests and damage is just unmanageable! Last year we had so much rain I never watered... this year... ugh... drought on top of over the top pests. Just the way it is... Would love to see your butterfly garden! Send me pics on my FB page! ;-)
@@GuidingGreenThumbs We’re having a drought too with extreme heat here in KS. It’s a challenge being outside watering in 110 degrees, sticky. Lol, I’ve been chasing beetles too like you were doing on the fourth. I will try to get some pics and get on FB. I’m usually on IG but I’d love to check out your FB page. I got a big fat rabbit eating all the pretty colorful coneflower in the butterfly garden, so not sure how great pics will be. He huffed at me last night as I was putting the deer repellent down, lol he was mad at me. Little stinker. 🐰🤪

No. We're having a drought also. And my flower garden looks bad. There is some beautiful flowers but it's suffering. Have a blessed day and a happy fourth of July. Love your channel.

Even though your struggling in some sections it is all so beautiful.I cant wait to see the perennial garden in bloom in a month or so. Your weather is like here in Florida. Heat drought challenges. I always enjoy your banter with husband. It is a New York sarcasm thing. I appreciate it. Thank you guys as always for your video's. It gives me a smile. Makes me remember home.

Your garden is beautiful so don’t be so hard on yourself! That’s part of gardening I’ve been there done that just move on and enjoy you beautiful yard and funny hubby👍❤️😎
Love the two of you and the garden. It is always exciting to watch. Those people with negative comments most likely have their own issues and assuming the worst with others.
I’m in upstate and share your passion in gardening 💐also have had the deer do the same to me and my lavender died.Love the humor, sorry you have to defend it…Best to you both❤️
Welcome to my world, California is always in a drought. hahaha, I step on the snails when I see them, like you do with the beetles. I totally get you, just had and argument with my husband and kids in the last video. You are right, I just purchased a cheaper fish fertilizer and it was so strong compared to nepturnes! My lavender died also, I purchased 4 more sweet romance plants and 3 of them died. Even with the off year, your garden looks beautiful.
Great video once again! The two of you are just so fun! Your humor and jokes are the best! Your gardens are phenomenal! I look forward to each video. Thank you for taking the time to share your world with us! Looking forward as always to next video.
OMG! Right out of the gate, here comes the dogs and plants are down! LOL, I was like Oh no!! I have a crazy dog who chases the squirrels across the fence and runs over everything, monster dog!! Thanks for the tip on the fish fertilizer, I didn't know, I will be out in the morning giving the coneflowers a good drink! Happy 4th 🙂🌺
I love your channel. Your garden is so beautiful! I can relate to what you are going through. This has been the worst year ever for my garden. It’s been a daily struggle here in South Carolina between the pests, rain, heat and humidity and let’s not forget the deer and bunnies. My backyard reeks of liquid fence. The bunnies are even devouring my marigolds. It’s crazy!
Ugh! Hopefully we can get this year out of the way and hope for a better season next year… I don’t expect a perfect season but close would be nice… (just once!) 😅
I am enjoying so much watching your videos, guys! I learn a lot from your channel and feel very happy while watching your tours! Thank you very much for what you are doing and god bless you!
Perfect timing…I was wondering how your gardens were doing! Despite the spongy moths, beetles, deer, heat, drought…everything is looking good! I just hope I get to see blooms in my yard before the deer and bunnies find an evening snack!! I’ve been constantly spraying liquid fence, neem oil, fertilizer, water, water, and more water. Keeping my fingers crossed! Thank you for the tour!
Wow! Some people don't get it and probably never will. My husband and I give each other hell on a daily. It's just our way of playing and annoying each other and we say some crazy shit to each other...that other people might not get. It's ok though because we get it. We don't take each other serious and we don't take ourselves serious either. And they only see what we want them to see....thank god! 🤣 I think y'all are funny and sweet....don't listen to anything negative!
Hi. Great to see you and your gardens! They are gorgeous already, even though they’re really just starting to bloom. We are having crazy weather in the Binghamton area too. We had a funnel cloud come through and take out a tree in my shade garden, and that changed the entire dynamic of one end. I have several plants burning now because they’re getting too much sun. Yesterday we had a torrential downpour out of the blue that actually tore some seedlings I’m nursing along out of the soil they’re potted in. We can’t fight Mother Nature, and she sure gets crazy at times. I guess my point is that your gardens are beautiful even though nature hasn’t been cooperating. They are still my favorite on all of You Tube, and I can’t imagine that ever changing. I learn something or take away good advice every time I watch one of your videos. In fact, I really miss your Facebook posts, so I think I’m going to start a new Facebook page since I can’t access mine anymore, and I’m doing it just so I don’t miss your posts. You are amazing!
Oh Man! Sorry about your tree! And your plants that needed it! I had to move some aloe in my shade garden when we took down our oak tree. Def changes the dynamic!
You have beautiful gardens, I love the sense of humor of the both of you , you guys always make me laugh. I feel your pain it has been so dry here in NC , my poor plants are really feeling it. Keep enjoying life.
it took me 2 videos to get it...i think the video of painting the house made me think he might the one that is abused ahahaha love your knowledge and i think u guys are funny
Ignore the hate some spread! I love how you both act and treat each other. It's very clear to me that you all are very comfy with each other and both realize that the banter is not going to get your arse kicked. I agree, the mentally ill is demanding the sane buy into their false realities. Not doing it! Keep being you and doing you. Love you guys! Last year it was so wet that one of my hydrangeas developed an ugly fungus to no rain for 2 1/2 months and over 100 degree temps! I will say that the hydrangea that had the fungus does much better with less rain! Our water bill is almost triple compared to previous years. Those creepy beetles drive me nuts! The first year after buying our home the beetles were insane! I began a spreading a granule immediately because the adults dig back into the earth to lay their eggs and the next year those babies emerge as hungry adults! So you have to break the cycle! I did my neighbors lawn also. The last 3 years I've had very few beetles but still they fly over to eat my plants. Your gardens still look gorgeous even with the weather and creepy bugs! PS I agree with the hubby on the orange lilies! They're gorgeous and a really nice pop of surprising color!
Love seeing your beautiful garden. Love you guys... 💕... Can we talk about the elephant in the room, . lovin' your hair 😍 When I first found your channel your husband was trying to start his own little garden space, how is it?😉
1. I remember the aster yellow on coneflowers happened last year. 2. Rue was a great choice. It’s a butterfly host plant and the yellow looks great against all the purple in your garden. 3. I just purchased my first dwarf bee balm (“pardon my lavender”) last year. Do yours ever produce viable seeds? I like how fragrant they are even if they don’t seem to produce seeds
I enjoy your videos so much, you’ve got such beautiful vibrant flowers. How much property do you have? It looks like you also have beautiful woods bordering your yard, do you have deer problems?
I was one of the people who made a negative comments about the teasing your husband was doing. It wasn’t funny however now I think he is funny! Last year he was mean. Love the new paint color on the house!!
How serious were you about the red bee balm being invasive? Man, I planted some last fall and have about 20 shoots spread in the local area where I planted it. I want nothing that I have to fight to prevent from taking over. Should I dig it up NOW--Maybe put it in a large pot and dead head? I love the blooms.
Yess good old N.Y !! We need rain so bad. I'm having trouble with the cinnamon colored beetle called the Asiatic beetle. It hides during the day in the mulch and comes out at night to eat the leaves off my plants. My zinnias look terrible!!!
*** not done watching *** The hydrangea that you are having issues with behind the fountain , it could be the heat off the house with the darker stain... I had that trouble before .
Loved the video and tour. Same issues this summer here in Southern Maine on rain. Last summer was so wet we had tons of mushrooms in the lawn. I'm so torn on how/when to water certain things. I have 2 Hydrangeas (2nd season) that just wilt on every hot afternoon. So not sure how often to water. What I've been doing is giving them some water when I water this seasons plantings and container plantings. About every third day. Speaking of containers, I have Dahlias in containers that wilt every afternoon. I give them a lot if water but then some of the leaves underneath on the bottom are actually mushy like they got too much water! Oy Vey! It will all come out in the wash I suppose. :)
So hydrangeas pout…. (Wilt). Some varieties will wilt regardless of whether it just rained the day before. The heat/late afternoon sun just affects them that way. They should recover after the sun starts to go down. That’s totally normal for some. My oak leaf did that and a couple other mop head hydrangea varieties. Watering is definitely tricky. With perennials- I never water on a schedule and I try not to baby plants because the goal is to have them send their roots way down to find the water and then establish better in drought conditions. If you keep the surface watered, the roots have no reason to grow down in search of it. (Does that make sense?!). Just a fun tidbit. But also in drought conditions, you can never water enough. I consider drought any amount to time over 3 weeks without rain and high temps def don’t help during a drought.
@@GuidingGreenThumbs Yes. Makes sense, thanks. We had a good soaking rain on Tuesday night and the mopheads were drooping 2 days later. It only takes Temps in the upper 70s. I just ignored them. Lol I am also having to water my Dahlias in pots a lot. I think that issue is that I have 2 large varieties in each pot and they probably could use more room. I'll know better next year. :)
thought it expensive to put bird feeders in my garden but did so, this year i have not had aphids/beatles/slugs or pests the sparrows and such have eaten the lot, so saves on pesticides!
I love your channel. Your garden is so beautiful! How many plants do you group together? I saw one gardener that has 5 of the same plant grouped together. Do you do that?
Sure do, it helps create a wave of color or texture. The problem is it’s pricey to do that all at once so it may take a few years but I definitely group a minimum of three. 😊
I love your channel and so much enjoy your humor and interaction. You make me laugh and I so appreciate your videos and sharing your garden , kids, pups and hubby. Keep on smiling and bring on the sarcasm......your audience loves it. ❤️

I am so very sorry that a few people have made unfavorable comments regarding you and your husband. Please don't breathe life into it. I am grateful for your videos and absolutely love the interaction between the two of you. Your gardens are beautiful as is your partnership with your husband. Many many of us love when you post a new video. Please continue to enlightened us with your humor and knowledge
LMAO at 20:48 “ and a couple smacks in the head I gave you” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 y’all are priceless, I love it.
You guys crack me up. Thanks for keeping it real. Everything is beautiful and always changing. Never a dull moment in your garden *wink*
I think I've enjoyed this video the most.
Beautiful beautiful property and gardens ❤
You guys crack me up! Beautiful gardens!
You really don't need to worry, your gardens are beautiful. Give it a couple of weeks and you will have blooms galore 👍😊😊
I am enjoying so much watching your videos, guys! I learn a lot from your channel and feel very happy while watching your tours! Thank you very much for what you are doing and god bless you!
I really like the vibe you two have together.... people are just strung too tight. Keep up the great work.... love it....
I miss you on Facebook! I was wondering what happened! 💕
Despite the vagaries of the weather your whole garden is looking wonderful.
Your gardens are beautiful!
Your tour will be fine! Your yard is beautiful.
You have beautiful gardens, I love the sense of humor of the both of you , you guys always make me laugh.
I feel your pain it has been so dry here in NC , my poor plants are really feeling it. Keep enjoying life.
Beautiful garden 👍👍👍😍
Gardens look great
my favorite comment: " all these plant names sound like STD"s" LOL. You all have such a beautiful garden.
it took me 2 videos to get it...i think the video of painting the house made me think he might the one that is abused ahahaha love your knowledge and i think u guys are funny
🤣🤣
150% do get y’all and my hubby loathes my gardening addiction also!
Love your garden, and the house looks amazing
Love seeing your beautiful garden. Love you guys... 💕... Can we talk about the elephant in the room, . lovin' your hair 😍
When I first found your channel your husband was trying to start his own little garden space, how is it?😉
Looks great!!!
Everything looks great to me. Your property is beautiful! Would sister in law agree to a garden tour?
Love meadow rue but mine is pink and not bothered by much and very hardy in 5b...Thanks for sharing your great gardens..love your channel.
Love your UA-cam blog!
I was one of the people who made a negative comments about the teasing your husband was doing. It wasn’t funny however now I think he is funny! Last year he was mean. Love the new paint color on the house!!
He take a a little bit to grow on people. 😉 And yes! He did such an awesome job on the house… I love the color so much!
It's easy to dig up, it can spread but not overwhelmingly.
🌳🌸🌻LUV YALL ‼️🌻🌸🌳
Absolutely beautiful gardens!
Any ideas on how to deter rabbits?
Thanks for sharing & have a Happy 4th of July weekend!
Yess good old N.Y !! We need rain so bad. I'm having trouble with the cinnamon colored beetle called the Asiatic beetle. It hides during the day in the mulch and comes out at night to eat the leaves off my plants. My zinnias look terrible!!!
I love the banter 😂😂😂
LOVE THIS
Pugster Blue will live great in a big container!
Geez, people are such snowflakes. I love your interaction! And your gardens! 😆
When you don’t like where a plant is, do you transfer it in fall when it’s cooler??
After my tree lilies bloom when should I cut them back? zone 6b
Love your channel! Do you allow your coneflower to bloom the first year or do you sip the buds?
I always let things bloom… I just can’t bring myself to cut the bloom until I see it 😉
I think your garden looks great. Sure we are having a drought, we can't control mother nature.
