Excellent video, small correction is that the fbx character import does NOT give you a rest pose, it gives the capture pose! which sometimes might be similar or the same as the rest pose, but it also very much may not be depending on rig. The correct way of getting the rest pose is to use the fbx animation import, and set it to rest pose in the output, point it to the same fbx as you are loading. But combination of the the character import and the animation import in rest mode, gives you everything "correctly". I only mention this because I have faught this so often setting up characters for crowd not realizing the character import didn't actually give me the right data. - keep the videos coming! love this.
this is so useful. my system currently relys on a rig copy transforms but reqires first retargeting to an fbx rig then doing another apex retarget, this definitly seems like less steps and files. I actually do all of my animation edits in the apex animation layers just because the controls are just better on the apex rigs. does this method allow animation to pass onto both FK and IK controls or would you need to extract both sets and retarget to both (this is part of how my system works).

I haven't personally tried connecting both at the same time, but I'm pretty sure you'd have to extract both and retarget each (Ik & FK)
