I was there at Over the Edge with a group of my high school friends. At first we thought it was a gimmick just by how his body hit the ring. We all thought it was a dummy. I don’t think anyone who wasn’t close to the ring knew if it was real. Once we all found out what happened, that was a tough night to get through. I do remember Val coming out afterwards. You could tell no wrestler wanted to go out there.

Val has been super consistent every time he has told the story. That he looked into Owen’s eyes and “there was nobody home.”

I will never forget the Jeff Jarrett interview from that night. He and Debra were so heartbroken and they really didn't deserve to be put in that position.

I believe D'lo Brown said the same thing. when they wheeled Owen past him he also said he knew he was gone just by looking at him 😢

The rest of the show should've been cancelled

Crazy the way Val describes it. He's one good storyteller and R.i.P Owen Hart

the fact vince made them wrestle after this is disgusting

  • @warrengomez67

Owen shouldn’t have died that night.

When you hear people like Val tell this story, you truly realize McMahon should have stopped the show. I guarantee you, if Shane or Stephanie were lying on that gurney board with their eyes wide open and dead white in color, he would’ve immediately halted everything. This is the same McMahon who wanted to stop the match was Angle and Shane McMahon because he went through glass. But at least Shane was alive afterwards. Vince McMahon cost Owen Hart his life because of some silly ass punishment gimmick. How he avoided jail for negligence is beyond my ability to comprehend it.

I remember the night Owen Hart passed. I was hosting a PPV party and had a house full. All of us were in shock and could not believe wrestling had just lost an amazing athlete. I grew up watching the Hart Family and to this day, I do not watch live events. Only highlights. RIP Owen Hart.

That PPV should never have carried on. It should’ve been stopped immediately. If a death occurs on any job site, the place is shutdown straight away. Vince McMahon has a lot to answer for and I’m not surprised Owen’s widow wants nothing to do with the WWE.

I was 15, watched religiously like a lot of kids my age in those days. For me it was entertainment, but the night Owen died and watching Raw the next night became a taste of reality I'd never really seen. Wrestling was never the same for me after that, as weeks went on I watched less until not at all by 2001. Over 20 years later and it's something I'll never forget.

Your interviews don't feel like an annoying mark bothering a wrestler with stupid questions like 99 percent of what's on UA-cam these days. You gained a subscriber in me.

This interview was absolutely electric. Sean brought so much news and emotion to the story. I cannot even imagine what that was like. He really brought out the professional aspects of a performer having to overcome adversarial conditions.

Such a horrible situation. I remember not watching that PPV that night. And going to school the next morning and my friends telling me what happen. And I didn't believe them at first and thought they were bullshitting with me, and watching RAW that night.

You're always so respectful during interviews. It was very interesting to hear Val's experience of this horrible incident. I had never him speak on it before.

That would have be really uncomfortable and difficult. Major props to VV and everyone else for being able to go out there and give us a show

I was watching on ppv as a kid and it didnt really register to me then what happened. As a fan over 20 years later I cant help but think about Owen a lot and wish he was still with us. I couldn't appreciate owen like he deserved when I was little but now have a new understanding of just how good he truly was.

I gotta say. You have quickly become the best in the wrestling shoots. So many guys have egos, talk over the guests, and ask mark hype questions. You give them respect, space, and help guide these talks to take a fresher direction. Thank you
