I like the fact that Blackman can legit beat everyone’s ass but he himself was never a bully.
@@DanielJordanofficial if that were the care for blackman that makes sense w/ how val described the way blackman just starting beating the shit outta bradshaw.
When you’re legit, you have nothing to prove.
True...but it seems he's an a-hole bully magnet. Perhaps it's cause he's quiet...
@@thetylife Pretty much yes- he was the guy who didn’t party, ate and exercised accordingly, wasn’t a prankster and showed up on time every day.
A rare show business personality who treated their job completely seriously.
Discipline and marial arts will do that to a person.
I don't understand what goes through a person's mind that looks at a guy like Steve Blackman or Meng/Haku and thinks "This looks like a person I should provoke. This will end well for me."
Remove Haku from the comment. He was just a fat piece of crap that was all hype, no proof.
Usually a fist goes through their mind, or close to it.
@189KansasCity liberalism, friend. Liberalism.
The real question is what goes through a man's mind that makes him stick his thumb up another man's bum. Now I see how Bradshaw got his big push in the WWE. Looks like
he joined Vince McMahon's gay brigade.
Bradshaw is a conservative dude seems there’s a lot of closeted conservatives just ask Mike pence
Hell, I’ve never met Blackman. But I want to announce I apologize anyways just in case.
🤣You and me both! ... J
lmaoooo
I met him backstage at SummerSlam’98! He was just as taciturn as his on-screen character, but still personable.
Alright that legit made me lol nice sir
lol
Whenever I’m feeling depressed, I just read a story of JBL getting knocked out and it makes me smile
No matter how weird I feel, I know I'm not walking around sticking my thumb up peoples asses weird
Lol
By Stocky Balboa, no less.
That's a miserable life, to get pleasure at someone else's pain!!
If Bradshaw was a bully and got KTFO'd?
Good..
But I'm not gonna relive it, I don't personally gain anything from it either
@@eljay3390you sound fun
I thought Val was being figurative when he said Bradshaw was thumbing Blackman's ass. But literally doing it? That's fucking weird.
There's always a couple of them in any type of lockerroom. That's why you always see a varsity kid in the high school with a black eye. Because he chose the wrong one.
It’s a prostate massage and Steve is very attractive
@@SuperWildsnorlax 😂
@@SuperWildsnorlax indeed
@@SuperWildsnorlax lol tremendous
I always love hearing the stories about JBL getting his shit pushed in. Dude never learned to be humble, so hearing him getting that ass whooped always brings a smile to my face ♥️
Joey Styles is a legend forever for this reason alone.
@@justint8635 Yes he is. He wasn't even a wrestler either which makes it even better. lol
Hasn’t JBL done a ton of charity work for over a decade now?
@@ASwagPecan tax breaks
He also sort of comes across as a guy who just enjoys fighting, like he doesn’t really mind getting his ass whipped from time to time because he’s just a pugilist and it’s fun for him. idk, always the vibe I got from him anyway
"Vince, I was punched 12 times before I realized I was in a fight. - Real quote of Bradshaw explaining what happen to Vince McMahon.
How can you look in the eyes of Steve Blackman and think you can take him?
It's a shame and a mystery. I can't tell you how many people I know who don't have a damn clue how to fight that think they can take on anyone walking God's green Earth. And I'm talking BJJ black belts and Golden Gloves boxers, they actually think they can win a fight against someone like that. It all comes down to arrogance.
When you have an ego as fragile as Bradshaw. Bradshaw’s scummyness gets in the way of his logic. Multiple times. Bradshaw is a punk.
Alcohol , that's how.
Being a big loud mouth alcohol drinking Texan that's how
@@burdenernie6050 Yep. It's said Bradshaw was drunk when he was harassing Blackman before the Lethal Weapon got pissed off enough to deck him.
Val Venis is such a great part of the attitude era. I laughed my ass off with all the vignettes
Choppy choppy your pee pee
@@sasogorelick hahaha classic
HELLO LADIES
Great character. Good wrestler, too.
My favorite was him and Big Show in the bathroom. Val looks over and says, "They call YOU the BIG show?" And starts laughing 😂😂
People who you shouldn't provoke:
-Steve Blackman
-Haku
-Brock Lesnar
-Dan Severn
-Ernest Miller
And before he passed, Bad News Brown.
Ken Shamrock, RVD, and Rick Rude was actually badass too.
Don't forget Joey Styles! He knocked out Bradshaw with one punch
Don't forget Bobby Lashley either! Or CM Punk, because despite doing poorly in UFC, he IS a trained MMA fighter and would probably slaughter over half the guys in the locker room. Andre the Giant was not to be messed with either. He was a kind man, but he was a kind man that you would be f**king stupid AF to provoke. Also, don't f**k with Mark Henry either. "World's Strongest Man" wasn't a gimmick. He LITERALLY was the strongest man alive at one time. I believe I read some guy was getting inappropriate with a woman backstage and Henry grabbed him and pinned him to the wall with no effort like he was lifting a baby.
Santino Marella as well the guy is legit martial artist with a black belt in judo and jiu-jitsu.
"You see, Bradshaw has no shame, there's no shame in his game " 🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
I broke out in a big ass laugh after that 😂 Blackman had him shook
Bradshaw doesn't wanna die on that day because BlackMan is No Joke once he said he is going to kill you he will do that and you will be sorry for that
RVD vs Steve Blackman should have been a serious rivalry in the hardcore division
@EXTREMEPOP, interesting, but what about Raven?
I still laugh thinking about Bradshaw getting a black eye from Joey Styles
Lol, if that didn't humble him up nothing will.
@@PuckUA-cam003 not sure if it did but it would me
Can't forget Steve Blackman theme and entrance with Kendo sticks. Imagine seeing a guy like that and thinking you can bully him.
Steve Mufuggin Blackman
Bradshaw thought a lot of shit because at 6’6 and close to 300 pounds he thought he was invincible, especially to people smaller than him.
Escrima/kali sticks.
@@LongIslandNow Definitely don't want to catch a Mufuggin kick
@@leir2005 was he really that tall or was he 6ft4. I know WWE tend to add a couple inches to the wrestler's height.
Steve blackman was my favorite player in No Mercy video game in Nintendo64
JBL never learned after that incident
Yeah he learned that everyone besides Blackman is too much of a pussy to put him in his place
WSI needs to interview Joey Styles about the time he got sick of Bradrshw's shit and clocked him.
@@darthken815 probably going to be quite difficult. He wants absolutely nothing to do with the wrestling industry.
@@justint8635 Any reason why?
@@kevthegoat8774 he last did commentary for a few promotions some years ago. I remember EVOLVE and Beyond Wrestling. Maybe more. And it was awesome because he was genuinely stoked on calling wrestling again and you could tell. Then during one EVOLVE show, apparently Gabe mentioned not wanting any mention of political issues on the show and I think it was either during the presidential race or around when Trump got elected the first time. Anyways, people were acting like the world was about to end and surprise it didn’t. Joey then during an interview segment made a joke that, from what I recall, if you read it in the proper context would’ve been critical of Trump and his abuse history. A bunch of woke types threw a bitch fit because they don’t understand context and how to read correctly and they connected it with the fact that Joey leans more conservative. So Evolve and Beyond fired him publicly and issued statements. It was pathetic garbage and he was pretty much cancelled before it was a thing. He hasn’t been active in the biz since.
Steve Blackman was a grow ass man. Very adept in martial arts. None of the wrestlers wanted the smoke with him.
Ken Shamrock
Steve and Ken ☘ Shamrock were the Real deal... 👊
Throw in Dan Severn and then you would have a Attitude Era version of the Shield
@@morgancarini1130 you would have a real world version of the Shield
@@morgancarini1130 That was actually a concept at the time severn and shamrock was there. A stable idea
There's a big difference between someone who is violent v. someone who studies violence. Steve Blackman studies violence. JBL learned.
Warrior in a garden.
I love hearing stories about John Leyfield getting his ass beat. Family Dollar Stan Hansen.
Facts, JBL is a trash
Yes! Wow, that's actually a perfect analogy
Who messes with a dude they call the "lethal weapon "?
Yeah, especially when that's not just his wrestling persona lol
Let alone putting your thumb up their ass. Wtf?
JBL reminds me of the guy who kept messing with Mike Tyson on that airplane. 😂
Met Steve Blackman a few times at the gym. He lives around my area. Super nice guy, but I definitely wouldn’t try shit with him. Really intimidating looking guy, but super cool if you talk and get to know him.
You should have shoved your thumb up his ass during a set.
@@hiddensword9387 hahaha. I’d say “Hey, Bradshaw told me to do it” lol. He’d kill me 😆
Is it true he's a bounty hunter now or all bs
@@GC-zu7yp that's all bs. Lmao, he's a bail bondsman. Steve Blackman will get you outta jail. No one dares defy him not even the Supreme Court. 😂
@@GC-zu7yp I know he had a bounty hunter tv show coming out, but I believe he’s a bail bondsman
Say what you want about Val, but damn does he know how to tell a great story and how to emphasise the funny parts

@@darylhall2198 He’s kinda wacky now. He lives in my city. google him for more recent details
Val’s political views are on point
Always warms my heart hearing stories of JBL getting his ass beat.
And you got people trashing on AEW for being “out of control” with all its backstage fights. There’s always been fights everywhere, but we didn’t get to hear about it because we weren’t on social media 24/7.
AEW is just shitty. The booking, the wrestlers (EXCEPT MJF), the whole shabang....... If tony would just step back and worry bout the money and let someone like Paul Heyman come in and take over the booking and talent it could bury WWE.
Aew sux though
That's a great story. Heard about Blackman beating him up but never heard the apology part lol.
My dad used to work for as a janitor for the forum in Inglewood back in the day and he used to tell a story every family bbq about some dudes getting drunk and trying to harass a lady near the restrooms. He says Blackman and Al snow came to the lady’s rescue along with some security but that Blackman looked like he wanted to kick every single one of theirs heads off.
The top 4 funniest things that ever happened in wrestling history involved Val Venus. "They call you the Big Show" as Val peaked over the Urinal at him. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Classic 😂😂😂😂
DAMN DUDE I STILL REMEMER THAT EPISODE
I can remember meeting Blackman years ago when he was in WWF. I was a teenager and he was so nice and even as nice as he was, he had this calm intensity about him.
Val is so great to listen to. I wish he would get in on the podcast world. He could call it.. "Hello Listeners!" Lol.
Valboski Radio!
Val is a first amendment auditor and activist now.
This man used to drive my mama crazy😅😅
It seems Bradshaw got knocked out quite a few times the best though was when Bart Gunn sent him to the shadow realm in Brawl for All, the smelling salts didn't even wake him up 😂
I always thought Bart Gunn looked like a somewhat larger Randy Orton
I’m rewatching this now and you can actually see the fight disappear from Bradshaw’s eyes when they’re staring each other down, like he already realises he’s lost xD
And dont forget joey styles ECW commentator laid him out for being a bully ..
@@mobydish5603 I see what you mean especially when his face .
@@robrob9250 His soul left his body right after that. No joke his KO and Bart knocking out Godfather were nasty finishes, poor Godfather went down so hard that he somehow destroyed his knee on the way down too.
I heard almost the exact same story from Bob Holly on an episode of Stone Cold's podcast. Even Holly, a genuinely rough and tough guy in his own right, mentioned over and over again during the conversation that Blackman was one of the last guys you wanted to start any real trouble with.
Why anyone in their right mind would want to antagonize someone like that deliberately tells you pretty much all you need to know about Bradshaw.
When legit guys like Holly and Shamrock say Blackman is the real deal, believe it.
When your tall and hulk like you look at guys with Steve's physique as small guys and non threathing. In other words he judge a book by its cover.
Holly a tough guy? LMAO you sac lickers are weird. Very sad.
Except Holly wasn’t legit he was a bully like Bradshaw
@@mortalmind7617Lesnar showed him
Freaking awesome story. Blackmon was always a bad ass looking dude. Then he disappeared from wrestling for years. I found out years later he caught malaria. And like the bad ass he is he kicked its ass too. Wrestling bios on the Monday night war series he does got special stuff he does when it's Blackmon fights. Freaking funny and awesome. Truly underrated wrestler of the attitude error.
Maleria caught a case of Steve blackman..
idk which period ur referring to but he caught malaria years before the wwf run that we know him for
Steve Blackman= The Real Mufuggin Problem.
Fellow Wrestling Bios fan. That Steve "Mufuggin" Blackman theme is the shit. ... J
Use to see him around Annville/Cleona, PA area where he had his gym.....dude is a physical freak....like something out of a comic book or video game....absolutely terrifying but in a good way.....he's a nice dude.
All I can think of with Val Venus is: hello ladies..that was classic!
Somebody needs to make a Tales from the Tour Bus style animation series with some of these stories told in interviews about the wrestling business.
Get Mike Judge on that shit PRONTO. He did it perfect with all those country singers he seems like he is probably into wrestling as well so he would be THE PERFECT guy for that.
@@coreyhall1150 100%! It's so easy to imagine it
Nobody has anything good to say about JBL and for good reason but props to him for having no shame and apologizing to Steve in front of everybody.
I've got 50 that says Bradshaw lost more fights than Michaels
Reckon Bradshaw was somewhat tough vs most but met his match in Blackman. Michaels had a big mouth and got himself in trouble a lot
Nah many guys have stated Bradshaw was tough, he just messed with some guys who were tougher. Remember Bradshaw did beat Mark Canterbury in the Brawl For All who was around the same size as him. Guys like Godfather, Rikishi, Marc Mero, Manny Fernandez, Black Bart etc have stated Bradshaw was legit tough.
@@kevthegoat8774Even Maven stated this recently on his channel.
Bradshaw has probably been in way more fights also.
Great story, nice to see Val doing interviews now. Love the old Raw tales from the era.
I love these interviews with Val. I always thought he would get a bigger push back then than he got.
That is by farrrr the BEST re-telling of that story I have ever heard. Awesome.
Steve Muffugin Blackman
Try him at your own peril
Lethal Weapon
Eff you up!!
I can't imagine how badly Bradshaw would have been crushed by Blackman, especially since JBL got KTFO by Joey Styles.
See here’s the thing I always hear about Bradshaw being a bully. But if somebody humbled him and he allows himself to be humble, I’m not that mad about the bullying. I hate bullies who can’t take an L. But if you can take an L and stand up like a man, then I’ll mind my business.
But then he keeps sticking his finger's up guy's butts.
I’ll say this about JBL: if he just bullied guys like meenie and all the smaller(than him) new guys, he’s fully a bitch-ass bully. The fact that he fucked with Steve Blackman too, and in a really damn demeaning way, tells me he’s at least a brave bully.
Yeah...I'll also say this of JBL, he seemed pretty equal opportunity. Unlike most bullies, he would rib a guy like Blackman repeatedly, not just guys he knew he could beat.
Can’t say I disagree with this.
The Big Valbowski always deliver the best stories
I've heard other guys saying Booker T could throw hands before
A friend of mine was on the roster during that period and told me the same baggage claim story. But I think this was prior to the Owen Hart tragedy (probably the previous year), as he had already left the company by then.
Always love hearing stories of Bradshaw getting what he has coming to him. Also, don't mess with Steve mufuggin Blackman, ever.
100% cold as ice
Bradshaw was tough but he was out of his mind messing with Blackman! The dude could have competed in the UFC no problem!
Ken Shamrock of all people said the same thing. Blackman is legit
I love love love these old stories
He's kinda looking like Tyson Fury these days
I think the only person who said that batista won that fight with booker was fit Finley every other person that I've seen online that saw that fight said booker won ..crazy
The Irish hate black people
Steve Blackman vs Ken Shamrock was always a dream match of mine
I don't know if that would actually be a match. that would turn into a shoot fast if either gets rough.
They feuded in the Attitude Era sometime in 1999.
Didn't the wwf have them being fake brothers or something like that
@@hinro I would enjoy it all the same, maybe more. Oh what could have been after Shamrock vs the Rock for the ic title
@@dougjohnson8610 No. There was never a storyline with Shamrock and Blackman being brothers.
This was pure gold 🤣
Blackman is a legit tough guy. His fighting skills are no joke. And Bradshaw might be a financial genius but he has a 10 cent head when it comes to common sense.
That story went pretty much the exact way you would expect it to go. bradshaw might be a big guy but uh blackman really seems to be one of the real guys who will beat your ass and there isn't anything you can do about it.
That was a GREAT STORY. Loved hearing this from VV.
I remember seeing Steve Blackman in person back in the late '90s at a Monday Night Raw is War event. He was cool 😎.
"Steve Blackman is probably the most dangerous man on the planet. If you piss him off, you might end up going missing!" -- Bob "Hardcore" Holly
Could you fathom if he had done that to Brock or Meng ? Or Bart Gunn ????? Or Joey Styles ??????
I'm just watching this now after watching the Al Snow video about this that just went up. I wish this had been captured on video. It would be incredible to see.
Great story. Val venis was such an iconic character. He seems like a good chill dude as well
Well Steve Blackman isn't called "The Lethal Weapon" for nothing 1 of my favourite wrestlers ever especially when he was the Hardcore Champion
I live in the heart of Appalachia & I've never heard of Appalachian Championship Wrestling!! I looked it up when Buff was on, but couldn't really find anything.....
I wish WWE would bring back Blackman to manage someone to fight against Baron Corbin!💯
You shoulda asked Val to do the "Hello Ladies" line.
Can’t believe I never heard this story before. This was hilarious
That outro music is good, very Chris Isaak 🤘y'all have a badass day🤘🍻🤘
On this note, how about a Steve Blackman shoot interview one day???
There's one on UA-cam from 07 I think and it's awesome, but I would love to hear what he's been up to since then. The man's life pre wrestling and malaria was pretty much road house from what he says, he probably has so many badass stories to tell
The way he said dont you do that dont you stick yo thumb….. etc. you can tell Val probably thought twice telling hime was too many times
Ol Val rockin the MPX!
I like John but all that weird kind of horseplay is asking for an ass whooping!!!
Man this was great Val Venus is a good man
HA ! HA! Now THIS is one story Ive never heard ! And Im a wrestling idiot fanatic thats heard all of it possible without being in the back ! ! LOL ! Oh shit ! Thanks again James and of course Val Venis for sharing . I dig Bradshaw but im ALSO glad he was put in his place ! Steve Mufuggin Blackman is not one to be messed with . Joey Styles either !!! But in JBLs defense im sure he never saw Joeys strike coming in his wildest dreams ! But good for Joey !
Might be greatest story ive ever heard!!!
I'm glad to hear Booker won the fight. Batista looked like he was his evolution character in real life back then
You think Batista was bad back in the days when he was still a full-time active WWE wrestler? Ever since Batista became a Hollyweird actor, his ego only got even more inflated.
Stories from the Attitude Era always makes me smile
Thank You Val Venis For Telling About this Backstage Fights between Bradshaw and Blackman and Bradshaw get his ass kicked by BlackMan
I'd love to see you interview Steve Blackman.
I Give this Story a Big Thumbs up!!!!!
Bradshaw grabbing Blackmans arm to go publicly apologize is Gold.
The story went exactly how I expected it to go. Blackman getting the W
This interview was hilarious
I think the one thing for me about wrestling back then that I love as I get older is the stories and that's something in 10-20 years from now won't be the same. And that's not me shitting on the current generation of guys/gals at all it's more that we live in this instant digital gratification posting life/world now that you just hear about it now. No mystery for anyone. I'm sure some things go on backstage still but it's a different world overall. That's just how it goes. Wrestling like rock stars or sport stars lived different back then...maybe even in many ways for worse because it was lifestyles but the ones that survived share stories.
Val Venus (Sean) is legit a genuine guy from what I've heard from these clips. Actually got even more respect for him through this. He came across so genuine and I love that. Love this chanell too slowly getting there with the interviewer being British. Kudos my friend amazing work
Yep and he even admits he didn't see Booker vs Batista so he seems trustworthy
Didn't Bradshaw say that Blackman hit him 5 times before he even knew they were in a fight?
The last lesson a bully ever learns is that what goes around comes around.
JBL was real in that moment. He joked to hard..dude ain’t like it..he took the punishment. As a man from Baltimore I wish more people would act like JBL and just take the highroad
Wow to see al snow and Val venís getting old is crazy makes me feel old
"Let's go!" Haha
Around the face, Val's looking healthier than when I last saw him in TNA and this makes me smile :)
He couldn't even take out Joey styles, what made this guy think he stood a chance against Steve mu-fuggin Blackman

Funny how backstage fights used to happen all of the time but now one happens and people get banned and called toxic. CM Punk was just keeping it old school when he whooped the bucks and Omega.
