I have lots of questions. The insane drops, the experience shrines, the first way arcane, the empty throne room, the precise location of exits, brainded baal etc... Edit: Oh, apparently I missed the part which says modded.
I realized when his theoretical 5% amp damage javelins were proccing 100% of the time, his 1-200 or whatever novas were prolly all hitting max damage rolls too.
Are you allowed in normal runs to reset map? never seen you do it, but I would guess it might be a strat if you have a waypoint directly at the entrance
People don't get the point of this speedrun. No one is trying to brag here. It's simply there to show how crazy the difference is between this perfect run and the average runs. It's nearly an hour for fuck sake. It is crazy.
@@ilteriskaganemeksiz pick your end game character, hop into a full game (or /players8 on single player) and go start killing in the catacombs level 3. You'll be surprised.
Theoretically speaking, without human error and no slight pauses, also no game issues with not clicking things sometimes making you click it multiple times, this could be slightly faster. But only theoretically by knocking off a few seconds to maybe a minute tops. :P awesome theory segment run still though.
just watched this, wondering if an optimized even further from both yours and pats comments all the way through hell baal was ever thought about being made?
I am pretty sure that this run would be even faster with charms included. There are several places where monsters are killed with physical attacks. In early normal even a little extra damage from charms (physical and/or elemental) would let you absolutely shred monsters. @MrLlamaSC do you know if testing with charms was done while building this run? @Level 1 you can get +11 poison (+ 5 prefix, +6 suffix) grand charm @Level 7 you can get +2-12 lightning (+1-5 prefix, +1-7 suffix) grand charm When the runner is doing jav grinding I can't see why this wouldn't help. Once switched over to spells for good life/mana small charms are +10/+7 @ level 16. You could even go +20 mana/+3% run/walk @ level 20.
Took me 2 years but I managed to make the calculations for this.. It would take about 5 000 000 players, with identical game knowledge, about 68 years to pull this off. Given that they played the game for 16 hours a day. To get ONE of these runs. (Unmodded) To break it down a bit more.. It would take one person about 580 000 000 000 years to get 20 min to look like this. (Unmodded) In other words.. It would take Llama (with his RNG luck) about 466 655 000 000 118 000 years of 16 hours a day to find one run like this. Hope it helped.
What needs broken down here guys? This was a modded run where the maps/item drops and everything else were modded to happen the way they did. At that point it's a game memorization of how you set your own perfect run up, and then executing on that setup. Very cool none the less.
I'm struggling to see how this is "segmented" and not "tas" Sure, he's not using an emulator and editing inputs frame by frame, but why do the javelins ALWAYS cast amp damage instead of the 5%chance it's supposed to? And why did some items and runes drop that he didn't need? It really seems to me that savestates (lots of them... before ever jav throw) were used and drop rates were fudged. Yeah its all "theoretically possible" but it still doesn't seem like a legit segmented run. I'm not hating, I really enjoyed watching this! I'm just hesitant on calling this "segmented" cuz usually the segments are like, do act 1 and that's one segment, or maybe area by area, but here he's resetting a small time frame so many times for best possible results, that's ESSENTIALLY a tas.
I mean, yeah, the drops and amp from javs etc are obviously rigged. I guess what makes it not TAS is that the play itself is done manually and not tweaked frame by frame for perfect movement, which is what TAS generally means in speedrunning (even though the name is Tool assisted, and this is obviously very much tool assisted)
This is segmented and modded. You could say it's somewhat TAS, but the play is actually manual play and such so I feel like it isn't quite TAS. Just modded%
MrLlamaSC yeah I guess I'm just arguing technicalities. TAS means tool assisted; this is tool assisted, so this is a TAS. Doesn't really matter in the end, it's a halfway between a bot moving and menuing perfectly and a legit run. It was super fun to watch. I've never found a full on TAS of d2, so I wonder just how low it can get.
Synn Yep, I don't understand why he prides himself in saying it's not a TAS. It's so manipulated that he should have gone to the end of his reasoning with perfect gameplay.
MrLlamaSC I think most of us can agree that this segmented run will never happen in real time. But you dont think that you couldn't shave 17 mins off your time with some crazy rng?
I'm not sure why people need commentary. The title says it all. Everything the guy done was theoretically possible. So is winning the top prize in the lottery every week forever. Which is basically what this run is. Entertaining but impossible. Not really useful either if you want to improve your speed running times as again, you're depending on impossible drops and finding exits in a matter of seconds.
Nice portrayal of what is theoretical possible. My only complain would be: Either this did take 10 years to complete or the drops are tweaked. EDIT: First way must've felt so good, amirite?! :D
your carreer is over. This guy did in 25 minutes what you did in 85 minutes. Stop streaming. Come back when you beat this guy's time. Don't come to me with excuses that you don't have enough scarbs in Act II. This guy nailed it. You're just Hot Fire defeated in a rap battle against Soldier Boy.
That's what I figured but then I got confused, because in that case, why is he even getting hit ? The enemy monsters have a chance to miss you completely, a very small chance but a chance nonetheless, which means he should never get hit in a theoretical run like this, right? Also, with rng manipulation working this way, could nova or charged bolt always hitting with max dmg rolls, not be faster than this javelin strat?
Also, if it is known what seed would give you that huge luck, and the game uses some setting on the computer to pick a seed, which is common, would it be cheating to manipulate that to ensure you get the seed you want?
he has modded the items to fall. They are all possible at the times they fall, but it's basically saying "in a perfect theoretical world this item drops here"
To reset the single player maps, the rules state "everything must be theoretically possible" that's the only way to legitimately reset maps without changing difficulties (normal nightmare or hell) and obviously he doesn't have that option in normal.
So much game reloadings... It seem's that he exactly knew which mobs he should beat and what exactly drop they will give. Strange, because Diablo is random absolutely. Will be there any comments? One more point to be clarified - how could he cope with run without map?
Yes it is random generally, this run is a way to look at "if everything goes right" so in these cases he is generating maps/mobs until he gets what he wants and using that segment.
I don't believe in buying the Hsarus boots and Bloodfist, also the only experience shrines... He/she is doing log in and out to the host game, looks like the video is cut off and something hidden of auditory :D I presume the hacks... But would be nice to have that way of the game at least once in the life )))
Is there a single bit of RNG that isn't manipulated here? I thought all of the skill in D2 speedrunning was working within random parameters(and the reading of map to know where your exits to instances are). I hope to god the game never receives a rules change to make this not just a segmented run. This almost hurts me to watch.
MrLlamaSC thank you for the explanation, I watched the commentary video and was still terribly confused, haha. Glad to hear this is actually entirely separate. It's cool but doesnt feel like D2 at all
5% amplify damage on hit happens every time. that's not "theoretically possible". and before anyone starts to argue, learn how probablity works first. still cool to watch but i'd prefer a legit segmented run without manipulation of this caliber
I would have put FCR and FRW on a Circlet, also FRW boots would be better for the entire run, you don't need 90 fire res. No offence but It feels to me like the game play slowed this run down. E.g. why pick up items and potions so slowly? Why slowly drag Khalim's body parts to the open cube window rather than drop them in the cube in the inventory,? Why cast Static far too long on Bartuc? etc. These little things add up.
Theoretically possible.... hmmm... i dispute this. It would take well beyond the heat death of the universe to get this much luck in one run even if 99% of the population was grinding non stop with only 1% of the population providing the food/power etc.
i dont get it.. whats the point of making hacked speedruns like this? you can it all you want but there is noway anybody would ever have this happen in a legit run. so why bother pretending that its 'theoreticly possible'?
and whats with the static btw my friend why static works to "zero" hp ? the javelin does not have 100 % cast curse on hit or ? this MUST be a modded diablo version? greetings
Don't feel you can say it is theoretically possible. It is theoretically possible for a billion dollars in gold to quantum tunnel into my house. It is a meaningless statement.

done!
The most unbelievable part of this whole run is a first-way arcane.

I wish there were more of these theoretical runs available to watch, just to see what a perfect conditions run would look like.
This run clearly shows how OP Javelin sorc is.
Need to change up my strats!
"Theorically possible" is a strong term =P
Nice speedrun regardless!
LMOA. Cries in Res. 1 minute cooldown for failed game join.
19:52 swag strats
zgsoad how!
Dillon Farley shift and right click
How is buying potions a swag strat?

would love to watch this with your commentary on it llama!
You see llama, you forgot to adjust your secret luck stat to 999. That way every shrine is a EXP shrine and every drop is what you need!
I need to start setting that!!
Interesting. I have always wondered about skipping the Den of Evil. EDIT: I didn't know you could give merc armor 12:41 like that!
When you're going so fast that the moment the boss' HP hits 0 you Save & Quit
"Death animation? Where we're going we don't need death animation, son"

it's a bit undiscussed honestly. never seemed worth it if you didn't know the seed change
i agree with the rest, please do a break down video. it would be very interesting to watch
This is only a slightly above average teo run
IgloosPat, you have done the cutest run!! Got real pleasure while watched this.
Hey man, where can I get some javelins with +cold, +lit, +poison dmg and 100% chance to cast amp damage on hit?
Why does he opens left panels before opening right panels? Like quest log before skill tree/inventory.
when you open quest/inventory your mouse reaches beyond half of the screen size, allowing you to teleport farther.
The extra mouse reach allows him to make the character walk further with one click while he's busy working on identifying and equipping items.
Auvry vrae i think this is what he meant
Lots of people know the telly thing but not this

Nice! But what happened ? :D What did he do and why did he do it and how ? :)
even on this map llama would have 4th wayed
So true :(
this is how my first ladder reset day looks like
He didn't need a map?
1:9999999999999999999999999999999999999 chance
I like those odds 😋
more like 1:10^10^100
So you're saying there's a chance
Definitely a lot worse odds than that.
i think you guys are underestimating how big that number is
thelch those were my odds as a sperm. Look at me now 😎

Why did he swap Jared Stone's? I saw he used teleport from them, but why?
nice!! but what is that frost nova teleport at 21:49??
swapcasting. It happens accidentally often times when your APM is high
This is like watching Kim Jong Il hit 18 hole in ones.

Oh sub 2 hours easily. Once you have teleport you can just FLY.
why does he always open another screen when opening inventory, and moving cursor top left before identiyfing items?
