I liked the trading conversation. JSP is a band-aid to a larger issue - D2 and other games not having good trading systems built in. Llama RPG trading could include the transaction itself, which would make it even better than jsp. If both people agree on the trade, just force the transaction in a trade stash or something to that effect so the players never have to be online at the same time, meet up, or have to jump other logistics hurdles.
You're missing the larger point that we don't have a currency which is easily divisible. That is why PoE, while not having a system like you describe, still has an extremely robust trading system. Diablo 2 does not have a real currency. We barter in game. PoE has a real currency. Chaos Orbs. You want to buy something? Get your chaos orb wallet out. Don't have enough chaos orbs? Sell some of your stuff for it. Easy, simple, efficient. Sell your stuff to get money, spend money to buy stuff. This is what makes d2 trading a headache: the fact that we have to barter, not purchase.
To be more specific: a single chaos orb has a value low enough that dividing it would be practically meaningless. Diablo 2 *could* have a system like this with PGems but the problem with PGems is that they are not easy to move around in the bulk that you would need in order to buy big ticket items like you can with Chaos Orbs in PoE.
Funny how he was talking about Shako, and I just got it from random mob Act 5, b4 that I was grinding for it on cows for hours with sorc. And necro for fun got it. Yeah rare items in D2 are just perfect (insert Highlander meme here)
convoluted systems are convoluted. Making friends just has to be an organic thing, you have to realize that as much as you want to impose your vision that your players are not Truman. lol No one expects you as a creator to do everyone's social networking for them or even incentivize social interactions. I'm not gonna come home from a hard day at work and boot up Llama RPG and go man I can't wait to talk to people in a spammy trade chat and say TY after someone copy pastes their sell or buy macro. just don't make the game a prison of perfect vision, you're 100% on the ball llama. Grats on the run!
different skills do stack. like ur example, conviction and lower resists stack, another example would be the holy fire aura you get from dragon gets buff from your sorceress fire mastery, however, curses do not stack. you can only have one active curse effect. also the thing to note, curses and shrines override each other as they are considered similar effect. auras from different sources stack but if you are running paladin the active aura activating depends on which aura has higher level, like for an example, lets say you are using phoenix shield that grants lvl 15 redemption aura and your paladin has active lvl 20 redemption aura, they don't stack, the one that activates is the higher lvl one which is your lvl 20 aura. However, if you are using both phoenix weapon and a phoenix shield which have lvl 15 aura each, they add up to lvl 30 and hence you activate lvl 30 aura from your items and the one you have hard points invested is basically useless. hope this clears something. sorry for my bad english, not a native speaker.
Wasn't able to catch this live, but while I am generally against restricting trade, one way to do it in a fun way is something like RuneScape's "Ironman" accounts, where the character is completely restricted from trading with other players. If they have a piece of equipment, it means they farmed it for themselves, I think a Hardcore Ironman would be a really cool gameplay style in a Diablo-Style ARPG
That's just self found (or literally just singleplayer). In both games the issue is also the same, it's all RNG. And if RNG is nasty as it easily can be, it can just make the game more burdensome to play so it needs to strike a good balance between being not too stingy but also not too generous with the drops. Of course you can have endless free time by being neet or whatever and so it's "no problem" to drop 1000 hours into obtaining a single item but realistically that's pretty terrible and the gambler's fallacy easily kicks in.
How is it your UI is so fast? If I click a potion or try to move things around in inventory it feels like a built in 1 second timer before I can click the next thing.

What does it mean that this is a "Hell hardcore" speedrun? Hardcore refers to no death I guess? But Hell? This isnt hell difficulty, he is starting from lvl 1, so what does hell mean here? Sorry if its a dumb question, im a bit new to this :)
Little off topic but looking to see if anyone has any info on it. So I decided to try out conversion and fanaticism. The converted still seem weak as hell even with the fanaticism but I noticed once they convert back they all die in one hit from anything they arent immune to. Anyone know why? I do enjoy using it. Any immune gets converted and my act 1 merc taps it as soon as it reverts and kills it. I just wish they were more than meat shields when converted to take care of monsters that I cannot. I'm guessing thorns is useless. Any opinions?
conversion is not worth, vengence conviction is ok from what iv seen, your FoH also benifits from the - light res to enemies for ok single targe dmg against non demon/undead but lightimmunes are a struggle for FoH ligntining dmg and you have to max the synergy for the light damage aswell for it to be ok so beware (in hell that is), honestly you only want to farm undead and demon areas anyways like chaos, pits, ancient tunnels, pindle, im sure theres a few more i forgot. P.S. salvation and light res skill are amazing 1 point wonders for hell when you are undergeared and have +skills equiptment
Idea to further end game: add uber difficulty, increase level cap to 105-110, ability to add unique along with another uber level base items. It would cause players to need to either dual spec OR upgrade their character far enough to break uber resistances. Reward for beating baal on uber difficulty? Full set glow that is togglable!
Watching this video after playing the Diablo 4 beta for 4 hours. Sadly it's Diablo 3 with better graphics. To be fair, the graphics are just crazy good, but the gameplay is suuuuper boring. When I played I got the feeling that I have played the game before. The bosses are damage sponges that are super predictable. It's not for me.
You ppl have to see everything the game has to offer before judging. It was so rough having to see llama's chat of neckbeards just discarding the game because it isnt a copy paste of a 23 y.o game with clunky pathing animations. Cmon now
You played four hours of an incomplete Act 1 beta. If you enjoy Diablo 2 at all I just cannot see how you don’t find Diablo 4 somewhat enjoyable. If boss mechanics in the first act are a big deal to you, then I’m guessing that you really dislike Diablo 2. Unless you think that Blood Raven running away is a great mechanic. Or perhaps Andarial walking towards you and attacking is something you consider complex and not predictable? Also, just to let it be known, I’ve played Diablo 2 off and on for 20+ years. I love it. I also very much enjoyed the Diablo 4 beta.
@@grayoth4156 , maybe you are wright. Maybe I'm too judgemental. The game just felt boring to me personally. Diablo 4 is more like Diablo 1, the story is very gory and dark, full of betrayals, not a "world thrill run" like D2 or action run like 3. This is pro end game speed run here on pc, Llama already experienced everything and even then sometimes he almost dies, you take it slow with your friends, you are no pro, have fun with diablo 4.
Diablo 3 sold 30 million copies over 3 years, the game is fun. Diablo 2 attributed to the crazy early sales but thats was a maximum of 5-6 million of those. the others are just people who liked the game. I played diablo 2 first for years and I know it's a hot take but I like 3 more, Builds are funner to play, there are more sets and legendary combinations to mess around with and the Amount of builds is way way more diverse, difficulty is much more lenient as you progress meaning you can actually learn a build by yourself without guides and wikis, then see how far you can get. End game isnt just either farming or ubers, you have bounties and greater rifts and the seasonal changes that add effects. It isnt diablo2 but that isn't nessasarily a bad thing.
DII itemisation is partially ruined by charms (optimal way to play is to have no free inventory space at all), and the fact that almost all characters want either Enigma or a teleport staff, and Enigma is just way, way more convenient.
