That's how new law's start we conform and they don't go away, this one is as specially good because it's for our safety and people dob in other people for not conforming.

Growing up in SF/DC, BayArea, I remember see all kinds of classic Toyota builds in the Filipino communities. My personal favorites are the Celicas, and the Starlets with box flares

Growing up around lots of Filipinos in the Bay Area; mangos, Starlets, Celicas...they were super popular among the old Pinoys. A few of us younger ones had them too. I had a red Starlet I bought for $800. As soon as I got it, I dropped it and put Rota A8s on! 🤣 I ended up selling the car a couple of years later to build my CRX SI I bought for $3k. The good ol days.

That is without a doubt the coolest Willys Jeep I've ever seen and his other cars are also amazing, truly but I never seen a older Jeep done in a lowered...I don't know, Pro-Touring setup? All of them are just to cool. And thank you Hoonigan for supporting and showcasing local backyard shade tree mechanics

Loved this one. My dad had one of these Corollas back when. He was always talking about it had headers from the factory. That car was quick. We called it the Puddle Jumper.

I've seen those bad boys do 8, 7, and now 6s. AND back home in 🇵🇷, those Corollas are usually peripheral port and stupid fast. Just look up Carolina Speedway Puerto Rico, or Salinas Speedway Puerto Rico, Carolina no longer exists. But there plenty of videos from the 90s and 2000s. Awesome times at those tracks. Miss it. 👌🏾👍🏾

My Brother is restoring/upgrading a '72 Levin, looks almost identical to the Trueno. I'll start posting videos of it when he's finished. Such cool cars, I think this Trueno has the best sounding 4 cylinder I've ever heard!!!
I have a copy of the 1971-75 Corolla master parts catalog on the shelf here. ~2500 pages. So much goodness in there. Helps with finding the old parts too

Well.. Magellan (Portuguese) was working for Spain, when he “conquered” the Philippines.. So there is some truth to what Tito JT said ;-)..

Larry, visit the PH after the lockdown. The car scene here is flourishing. A mix of JDM, Thai, USDM and local PHDM styles.

I really liked your little tip on how the horizon light spilling over the top of the buildings was lighting the upper half if the car in a way that highlighted the rudge running down the car showing the swoopy lines from the door over the fender and out the rear. It lets you notice something that would be lost in a midday straight on side shot. I feel so many magazines, shows and online programs just miss.
Loving the early model corolla coupe lift back. Pal of mine had a BRG one with matching 4 spoke revolutions on it it was cool. The white one is the only second one I've seen ever since.

At 12:18 the white 4 door with the green stripe down the side looks incredible and also identical to a Holden TC Gemini but because this is the US im guessing its branded as something else because all the Holdens that go over there are re-branded as a Chev etc.

All motor , budget, heads/cam , 200 treadwear tires, Lemons car / Track day car / Autocross. I can tell you right now , it's gonna make 328rwhp and it's gonna break the crank in half at the #2 main after a few hours of track time
