1 more tip to make your pc faster: dust it! You'll notice much better thermals if you clean your fans from all the built up dust

I've owned a PC over 2 years and It took me an embarrassing amount of time to learn that you had to enable special profiles to actually hit your RAM speed :")

I recommend depressant class drugs, slow your own performance to make your computer's seem faster.

Start Menu -> Privacy -> Background Apps -> Set the slider to OFF! Unless you use any of these apps in which case do it individually.

My motherboard is so bad that the max speed for ram is 2666, and I have 3200 ram. What a waste

My best advice to anyone with really old pc. Buy SSD. You have no idea how fast everything is after upgrade of this one single part.

Recently upgraded boot drive to an M.2, got another stick of RAM activating dual channel mode and gave my old GTX 970 a thorough dusting and it made a huge difference! My machine is quieter, cooler and snappier than ever. Those are my recommendations in addition to what Jay said.

This tips may be old information for a lot of your regular viewers, but I love videos like this because I can send them to my not so technical friends or refer it in forums. Well explained, fun and really informative, thanks.

Another tip for more advanced users: If your computer is getting old (5-6 years or more), you might want to think about replacing thermal paste. Even if your system isn't not overheating, thermal paste degrades over time, and I believe most thermal paste lose their efficiency after this time (y'all can correct me on this). This also applies to graphics cards.

Idk how much trouble it is, but if its possible in the future, setting up youtube chapters for your videos would really help find things in videos like this that we may already know about or not know about. Thanks for the video Jay!

I've seen the opposite when it comes to windows high performance plan vs balanced with ryzen. Something about the way core performance boost works, high performance doesn't allow the cores to down clock which means single cores won't boost as high. Alot of games rely heavily on single core performance so you'd be better off keeping the windows balanced plan on if you have Ryzen

I found increasing the fan speed on my GPU made a HUGE difference in frame rates and stability on my XFX 5700xt, I only have to do this when running VR in MSFS but certainly a huge improvement.
