Impeccable timing, lead with his shoulder, insane throw (yet hospital pass), potential great catch. Just a wild and fair play.
How CJ Stroud nearly completed that pass is just INSANE
Honestly, it was questionable. I can't blame CJ because he's just trying to win a game. Can't blame MHJ, he's doing the same. But in what world does throwing a ball that hangs in the air for seconds into the endzone sound like a good idea?
Everyone on both sides were literally trying to do their job, just a bad situation.
MHJ deserves those props tbh, he made it look possibe.
Yeah and got his wr destroyed
Soon as this happen dem boys was in trouble
Too bad he wasn’t playing horseshoes or hand grenades huh?
College Football needed these two playoff games. Competitive playoff games is good for the Future of College Football. That these other teams do have a chance to win.
I agree, I'm especially happy to see a Big 12 team advance (even though I like Harbaugh a lot, and would like to see him get a title)
Bullshit he hit him in the freakin head
college football is trash, and it only has a few years left of relevancy. the transfer portal and NIL has destroyed the game, and made the product unwatchable. bowl games are abysmal. unless a team is in the playoffs, the entire team sits out the bowl game.

Without a doubt.
That’s why it shoulda been targeting. You have a chance to get literally the number 1 wide receiver that would be drafted this year let alone next year you take the penalty if it comes, which of course it didn
@nickdiana1246 he lead with the shoulder, not the head. Replay wad pretty clear on that. So by definition it's not targeting.
@@ericheick7044 you can lead with the shoulder and get a targetting call.
@lukebeachler5416 it was a really hard hit, but not targeting. Leads with the shoulder and keeps the hit away from Harrisons head. They spent time reviewing every angle and determined it wasn't targeting. He didn't leave his feet and only made the hit as the ball was caught. So not targeting by definition.
You can argue it was a hit on a defenseless receiver, but not targeting.
"The NCAA targeting rule bans any forcible contact leading with the crown of the helmet or to the head or neck area of a defenseless player."
And the NFL should implement something like this for rough in the passer it will make the game 100% better
I agree, though there needs to be a limit on how long the review process can take. Stopping the game for 5+ minutes every time gets old quick.
'rough in the passer' literally makes no sense. It's 'roughing the passer', goob. As in roughing someone up.

@Crunch Bar If you see the camera from the back of the end zone, you will see 2 things.
1 - Bullard hit shoulder pad on shoulder pad. The inertia of the hit caused the helmet-to-helmet contact as Harrison got turned around in the air. Initial head-to-head contact would not have caused his body to do a mid-air turn.
2 - Harrison stepped out the back of the end zone as the ball was coming out of Stroud's hand. If he somehow made the catch, there would have been an illegal touching penalty costing yardage and loss of down.

The tcu one was more targeting than this one
You are blind sir this hit was shoulder to shoulder
TCU was absolutely targeting and should have been called
Neither were targeting. The TCU has literally no where else to hit him. Not targeting.
@@ImperialFistStan I've said this before and I'll say it a million times more: the moment you dip your head and try to lead with it, all bets are off. It's not targeting if it's shoulder to helmet in that TCU scenario, but that's not what happened, is it? I was pulling for TCU, but that targeting no-call was a blunder on the refs' behalf.
The difference in this scenario is that the defender very clearly led with the shoulder and connected with the receiver on the shoulder first; the helmet hit afterward was purely incidental. That was great form for a hard, but legal, hit.
I wonder if the trolls calmed at least to some degree. I mean OSU lost by 1 point from a missed field goal in a game I feel Ohio State controlled 90% of the game. Meanwhile everyone before the game was saying Georgia would win by 3 or 4 touchdowns.
It's a playoff game that's why you got to play from start to finish That's why they say leave it all on the field.. to be honest with you being a Georgia fan all for these teams in the playoffs today not one defense showed up it was all about the offenses
As a Georgia fan, this was the one matchup I didn’t want for the playoffs. Our secondary has been the weak spot in our defense, such as in the SEC championship when LSU lost but still passed for around 500 yards. I knew OSU’s passing game would give us a lot of trouble. Honestly, us being hyped up so much really worried me
Without that targeting hit on Harrison, OSU probably wins the game.
@@rekt3857 The replay ruled it was not targeting. Bullard led with his shoulder, hitting Harrison's shoulder, and the hit caused Harrison's helmet to make contact with Bullard's helmet. That is known as incidental contact and is not a penalty.
@@lordcrimsoneye647 Nope, the contact was helmet to helmet, not shoulders first. You can't change what I saw in slow motion. You just went by, and they said. I'm going by what I saw. Nothing you say will change my mind.

Lol this aged well huh? Go Dawgs!
People saying it was a bad call and targeting are either ohio state fans, blind or don’t know the rules, you can even watch it in slomo if you need to, he led with the shoulder and hit with the shoulder, if you want to be mad at anyone be mad at Cj for throwing a hospital ball not the refs.
If they can't call that targeting they can't call anything targeting!! If the role was reversed you can bet that the OSU player would've been thrown out! You should've said you're either a moron or blind of you didn't think this was a targeting.
These plays are why Bloody Tuesday is so important. I don’t think Ohio does it for fear of losing their CLEARLY over needed elite WRs.
Ladies and gentlemen that’s what I call getting a body! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

What was the incentive for Harrison walking back on that field? That was a clear reason why players headed for the draft are reluctant to play in their final bowl game. I believe another OSU WR declined and I think their TE checked himself out as well by halftime.
the other WR wasn't gonna be cleared and the TE was sent to the hospital.
Football is too dangerous to play at a high level without monetary compensation.
If this is true then I could certainly understand their decision to do that.

No, not targeting. The call was overturned about as quickly as any targeting call in football - less than halfway through the TV timeout - because it was such an easy and obvious non-target. Bullard actually turns his head AWAY from Harrison in the split-second prior to contact. Helmet never touched MHJ. You never want to see anyone get hurt, but it was a hard, but clean and legal hit.

He hit his SHOULDER to Harrison’s shoulder first, and the SIDE of his helmet make contact to Harrison’s AFTER the initial brunt of the hit to the shoulder. This was just a grown man hit, and Harrison learned he should not try to catch every ball that’s well covered.
He looked fine on the sideline after I don't know why they didn't put him back in because without him CJ Stroud had no targets and had to run the ball a lot, CJ Stroud put the team on his back and it came down to a kicker that wasn't ready to make the kick, at least we went down swinging.

Hey man when u have games where its all on the line players will do whatever it takes
This play is why targeting is the worst penalty in football, because there is no true definition of targeting there are times like the 2019 fiesta bowl where the defender made light head to head contact and it was called. Here the defender is trying to take Marvin Harrison’s head off and there is no targeting. It’s so bad at this point most refs can’t even agree on what targeting is. My solution is to make 2 degrees of targeting one is traditional targeting and the other is for something like this where nobody can agree on what it is. The penalty for traditional targeting will stay the same and the penalty for the other type of targeting will be 5 yards and a first down.
...football is getting soft already, what you propose turn it into flag football. A nice clean hard shoulder to shoulder hit and you want to penalize that...
I agree with you completely, but I also think sometimes that "The Fix Is In" because of all the Money being wagered!
this wasent targeting it was shoulder to shoulder contact
@@the_biggest_of_all_boys2825 OK, The Defensive Back Led with his Shoulder, but Followed up with his Helmet because if you saw what I saw and Everyone else did, their Helmets collided after the Shoulder hit. May the Momentum carried the Defensive Backs Helmet into Marvin Harrison Jr. But there was Helmet to Helmet contact made.
This is the true definition of targeting, he led with his head, he launched, and it was a defenseless receiver, look up the definition
UGA gave that WR a baptism in southern physicality on that play
Aka targeting
Illegal hit but its a buckeye. I've never seen them get calls. Refs hate Northern schools.
@@robchapman5222he faceplanted the turf.
@@robchapman5222 Nah, he lead with his shoulder and hit Harrison in the shoulder. A hard hit isn’t necessarily targeting
If you concuss a player like this it should be a fucking penalty, no questions asked
Swag ??? In O hIgh O 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good call by the refs
That’s not targeting he hit him with his shoulder
Hit him with the Shoulder, no penalty.
he did not hit him in the shoulder the fuck video you watching, it's a defenseless reciever right to head/neck area
Lol educate yourself on the rule of targeting if you're a football fan you should at least know the rules
@@benkellar9970 targeting is leading with the head and striking the defensive receiver in the head which didn't happen so you should learn the rules my guy
@@gasstationburrito5286 oh Jesus here we go again it's not surprising I have to educate a guy named Gas Station burrito. The definition of targeting is forcible contact to the head or neck area to any defenseless player. Any contact with the crown of the helmet to the head or neck area as well as launching are all indicators. Literally everything the definition describes happened on that play lol... now I know you won't admit that you're wrong but you're welcome for the education so in the future you won't sound as ignorant
This is why Georgia won.
Ga won because they’re better.
They call them the OSUck CryinEyes !
Marvin Harrison found out that just because your a receiver, doesn't mean your untouchable. Just another reason ohio state wasn't feeling the physicality. Those DBs for UGA head hunt. Get mad about it...
I've seen targeting called for less egregious hits than that.
And I've seen it not called for far more - your point?
@Mox point is it needs to be called when it meets the guidelines. Aka, player launched himself, and harrison was in fact a defenseless player. It needs to be called when guidelines are met, or not at all, or more clearly defined so that there is no opinion involved in what does or does not constitute targeting.
@@techlorknight338 He didn't launch himself. Launching is defined by jumping, he didn't.
He also hit him in the shoulder with his own shoulder. This wasn't targeting.
@@techlorknight338 You can hit a defenseless player, just not in the head(which he didn't) and not leading with your head(which he didn't). This penalty has been called this way all year.

Hospital pass
Disgusting performance. If Georgia had won from being the better team it would be fine but they had to pull every dirty trick just to squeak by.
Like grabbing DBs by their arms from each side, yanking them back and down and then sitting on them?
Seemed like OSU's O-Line's only strategy.
Clearly targeting. And those who can't see that are either Georgia or SEC homers. And how does ESPN get coverage when they have direct ties to the SEC. Bias much??!!!! It's ok. See you all again next year when you lose half your players while we just retool.
It saved a touchdown and won the game good play kid
That is not targeting, no matter how you look at it
Something should have been called on this play if not targeting.
There is nothing in the rulebook to call for this play. It was a clean hit. It is a violent contact sport.
It was targeting and it was a blind side hit and that's illegal
Both wrong lol
Stetson Bennett has played TERRIBLE
You really see how talented Harrison Jr is. As soon as he left the game, osu scored 3 to Georgia's 18. If he hadn't gotten hurt, osu wins that game by 14+
Woulda
Coulda
Shoulda
But didn't
@Sir William ClickClack Pointing out that the best wr in the nation getting hurt had a HUGE affect on the game, is something that anyone would point out. Not sure what your comment was supposed to mean in this context
That's what he get for flopping he was never hurt to begin with I think he was more ashamed that he dropped the ball
@@seanspreckelsen3496 agreed. Same as Jamo/Metchie last year. Healthy Alabama blew them out. We had the lead in Indy and lose Jamo and Battle and they back into the W.
@Sir William ClickClack in fact, osu was technically missing 3 of their top 4 receiving options at the point that he left the game. Stover left earlier in the game and smith-njigba barely played this year.
Clean
I love how football penalizes players for not letting receivers catch touchdowns.
Stevie wonder could tell that was targeting
Edit before any UGA dickriders come after me: I meant cheap shot not targeting
@@darksunday3012 Nah he hit him hard enough w the shoulder that the helmet hit too. Don’t throw a suicide pass if your don’t want ur receiver knocked out
@@jayandrusiak mb mb meant a cheap shot
@@darksunday3012 nah you’re weak that was all shoulder…. That’s why the penalty was removed. He got knocked out from hitting his head
It wasn’t targeting but as much as it sucks to watch it’s necessary for the longevity of the game and players to not allow big hits on defenseless receivers. Unless you want 5* football prospects to start playing baseball basketball and soccer instead as kids due to all the life altering injuries in football it’s how it’s gotta be
Congrats .to Ga on beating Ohio State.Ohio State played a great game, they were better than I thought.
They only won because they had to take out Marvin Harrison Jr.
Looks shoulder to shoulder in the replay. By rule,NOT targeting.
If that's the case, if his head wasn't hit, why was he kept out of the game because concussion protocols?
@@jerm330 Let me explain to you: For targeting you have to LEAD with the head or neck area of a defenseless player. Bullard led with his shoulder, yes he made head to head contact with the receiver after the shoulder hit but it was after he LEAD with the shoulder that caused the head to head later, therfore according to the rule no targeting. If a player bangs head to head contact it doesn't automatically make it targeting if the lead hit was not with the neck or head area. You may not like the rule which I understand but that's what the rule is.
That was clearly targeting and I was rooting for Georgia in this game.
Nope.. all of a sudden damn’er all big hits are targeting even with the shoulder.
But that wasn't targeting
