“Dirt snob”. Man, when you said that I laughed out loud. Funny stuff.
"Ah yes" (sniffs a pinch of dirt from a bucket) "64 million BC, a very good year."
I would love to see you actually trying a plane. The way most people tackle planes has become pretty standard with not many new things on the table. It would be interested to see how an armor modeller, and of your caliber for that matter, implements their techniques on aircraft building. How you would create colour variations, chip the colour on the aluminium instead of steel base, deal with the finish of the subject etc.
Regardless though you have been a huuuge inspiration and when I actually tried your techniques on a project of mine, I was stunned with what I could actually achieve
I’m totally on this as well!
That's could be quite interesting. As I tried to use Night Shift techniques on building and old civil truck (for railway layout), I would also be interested to see Night Shift working on a civil model or a building/diorama.
would love to see him build and weather a plane too. maybe a tankbuster like a Sturmovik or a Ju-87 with twin underwing cannons. Yeah a Stuka tankbuster would be cool, and would tie in with armor/armour modelling. Or an RAF WW2 Typhoon or US Thunderbolt. Or an A-10 Warthog. Maybe modelling a tank killer would be blasphemy to Martin though ;)
I can’t get wilder
Products to save my life in the uk right now.
@@pbyfr I myself will definitely try the satin ->filters -> more oils sequence on an He 111 I am working on right now, I think it is kind of a waste that many aircraft modellers don't use filters and oils that way
Awesome, it's Friday again. Time to get dirty :)
...with the mud effects.
And some strong wood...
effects
@@NightShiftScaleModels - I see what you did there :-O
@@NightShiftScaleModels Shaaaaa-wing!
My hardened steel....
effects are getting better thanks to uncle Night Shift!
I love the way you comment your builds it makes a smile on my face........
The last time I was this early, that panzer was still clean!
“Seaball is litterary a ball, from sea” 😀👌🏻😅
I really enjoy your sense of humor along with you superb modeling skill.
The pronouncing was very good 👌. Greetings from Germany
Ah yes, my favourite model builder detailing the Panzer- i mean Coronavirus destroyer
i think its good at both jobs :D
😍 All Hail the dirt snob, Uncle Night Shift! Fantastic job!
Dirt Snobbery is going into the 2021 Urban Dictionary
Dennis! There's some lovely filth down here!
Every time I get a like from uncle Nightshift I feel very special but then I see that he liked every comment, makes me feel less special
Every nice comment makes me happy so I like as many of them as I can!
But hey, you got a reply 😁
@@NightShiftScaleModels yay I'm special
Hey Uncle Night Shift! Im using your methods from your tutorial for my Typ 82 Kübelwagen in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. Its quiet a good kit! Your Tips actually work really good! I asked about 10 people, showed them my old models and then the Kübelwagen, were I first used your Tips, and they all said, that it looks absolutly nice! So you did a great job!!!
Sry for my bad english... :P
"I only use the finest dirt." Why yes, yes you do Uncle Night Shift. The Uncle we all always wanted!
Fantastic mud and dust effects Martin. I love to watch the way you add layer upon layer until it becomes this tasty smorgasbord of deep contrast. Great stuff! Cheers.
Lower hull looks real dirty....I like it Diiiiirty !!!
Well done Uncle.
Gardening ,special plants may be ,??? Haha . Great video on a different build . Thank you .
Wow... Dirt snob. Worse than rivet counting 😂😂😂 just kidding favorite Uncle! Have a great weekend.
Always a good day when uncle night shift posts a video. I've actually started using these on my models. I hope it turns out........alright lol
I always like how your technique is different than what most people use. 👍
It is really sad seeing the rust and chipping getting covered up but it's a nessasary evil I suppose. Great video.
Those earths effects..... 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Could you please do a video of you modeling setup/workspace as I would love to what your set up looks like :)
I can vouch for you on German dirt and dust and mud. I was stationed in Germany in the 3rd infantry division, I was on a Bradley, and most the the dust and dirt had a greyish pale tan color. And it got everywhere!! Lol. If someone was to do a tank in hoenfel,(training area) or grafenwohr(gunnery area) the vehicles are literally covered in dust and dirt. Not only that, but me too. That's another one people forget, the crew get as dusty and dirty as the vehicle they are on. One thing, my company was sent to hoenfel to train units going to Bosnia. We got stuck there for 3 months Feb to April. Never washed the vehicles, not only were the ridiculously dirty, but they were just beat up. That was a rough time. Lol...oh and on modeling, I hope one day you would do something in 1/16 scale. Like a luchs or a su100. Something to challenge you. That would be awesome.
Where on earth is hoenfel?!? Do you mean Hohenfels in Bavaria?
@@winnietheshrew2957 yes. Just didn't spell it correctly, I was last there in 95. Lol
@@willthorson4543 Lol, hoenfel sure is a lettersaving way of spelling the name. Btw, nothing has changed in a quarter century. Hohenfels still is a busy Nato military training area.
What pleasure to hear from Uncle Night Shift!
Great tutorial again, Martin! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Saturday morning modelling fix. What’s not to like. Wonderful work as always. And as always G’day from Australia Mate!
Rubbing alcohol from a chemist works just the same as the AK fixer and others! Quite a lucky find when I tried it to remove abit of super glue it didn't but fixed the pigments in place I never used to bother with a fixer now got a big bottle haha!
Not first! Once again a delight to see you adding effects and weathering. Thank you Uncle Night Shift!
Those mud effects are outstanding!
beautiful mate, stunning work
Finaly! Been waiting all week for this video, there is something special about your content you can't fint anywhere else. I love your videos, so keep up with the great work:)
Cracking job, looks superb and so real with the mud effects!
“It’s literally a ball, and a seed. It can be found at the beach, I guess.” - night shade 2020 best line of the year so far. 😁
fantastic changes with the dust .. thanks for these tips !
Good stuff. Very inspiring.
Martin another great video! thanks for sharing every single datail.
It has become a separete hobby to watch this channel than making scale models.
Damm, result is so good
As a german I think I can say your pronouncing of the tanks name was actually pretty good. Not as good as your modelling skills, but if your german was as good as that it would be better than most germans german. Weird sentence, but with some imagination it might be understandable ^^ Looking forward for the painting of the tracks.
I do acrylic paintings ,abstract landscapes . Love acrylic paints ,easy to clean than enamel and oil paints . I used to build model kits up on till my mid 40s . Thank you
I wish i could see this model in a diorama. Looks so detailed already.
As usual sir....a fantastic job ❤️
You might try a “real dirt” trick from diorama & layout building. It’s a 50/50 or 60/40 earth (dirt from the yard) and non sanded grout. It has a real dirt appearance in color & texture, because it is, and the grout can modify the color while maintaining a very fine, to scale texture and binder when dampened in place (or as a paste to build up) with thinned Mod Podge (matte, satin, or gloss for desired effect).
Miniature painter here. You scale modelers are so much more sophisticated and advanced, it's like your art is 30 years ahead of ours. Inspiring.
Sometimes.
Figure painters were doing shades and highlights for years before the armor modelers discovered the technique.
love the work uncle really impressed! love your videos and yo managed to get my sturmtiger out the cupboard!!
Thanks again.
Tony
Signed up on your Patreon channel. Videos are awesome, I eagerly wait for each new episode, it’s great to get them early now. Cheers.
Looks great man.
Fantastic work mate!
I really love your work. I get inspired!
Awesome video mate the weathering really made that model pop. This video made me want to go weather the hell out of the tank I am working on. I definitely got to get some of them wilder products. Have a great weekend my friend
Bloody awesome!
Wish my local beach had "seaballs" lol
Superb work Sir 👏👏👏👏
Another great one!!!
I just want to celebrate another day of livin'
I just want to celebrate another day of life
I put my faith in the people...Oh! you wrote "real earth"! Not "Rare Earth"! Ha. My bad! You are just wonderfully entertaining Martin! Brilliant work and brilliant entertaining! Thank you.
Sooo good!
At 18:00 one of the wheel assembly is upside down. After all that work, it would be silly to mess that up for the final assembly coming really soon. Otherwise, beautiful work as always!
Nice works!
My best friend told me yesterday that he’s actually gonna become an uncle so that intro was spot on haha
Chvala bohu, dalsie video 👍
👍fantastic!
I saw on Instagram a dusty, muddy Sherman and after seeing your tank I love the look of it. Some small leaves and maybe some tiny photoetch bullet casings would be awesome!
Great work as always, waiting for it till last Friday 👍
I'm surprised that this time you didn't used your Tamiya dust mixtures but this Wilder product did the work perfectly👍
Excellent!😀
I really love your Videos, you do a great job🤟🤟🤟
🚲 Great video. Gotta get me a sea ball.
Looks very good. You videos can works, as instructions to do the same. All the best for You! ;)
I just can't see who wouldn't like this?? You have 3 haters. 😄😄
NOOOOOOOOOOO! I overslept and missed a night shift video when it came out! oh well, I'll will watch it anyway
Great video bro! ;)
From now on i will describe scale modeling as dirt snobing...... proudly
Due to its small size, I can imagine it being useful in urban settings. I'd like to see a version covered in red brick and concrete dust.
MARTIN!!! Wow, man, that little bugger looks like its real. I'm always amazed by your work.
I would love to see your style on Gunpla tank type model such as Gun Tank from MS Origin series :)
Hey, I have a spare 15mm PSC Marder/Panzer 38t laying around and since I really enjoy your content and would love to see you paint smaller scale tank once again I can send it your way :)
Привет! Крутое видео!!)🙌👍👍👍Спасибо Тебе!!!)))
As a German I can say the pronunciation of the tank name was very good.
Bro, I just strong tenked. I haven’t been strong tenking in the past weeks. Just strong tenked as I said and looks like I’ve to rewatch the wip process of this tank from the camo again. Anyways, good day.
I’m making a tiger 1 and I came up with a ghetto mud: fresh mud enamel effects and with real earth. As I said very ghetto but still makes a thick mud effect
epic
best mud :)
ONLY ZE FINEST DIRT FOR MEIN CREATION!
Really nice channel with full explanation easy to watch and fun :) Any chance that u try to build some ship like battleship in 1:350 this one should be fun to watch how u build model as is complex itself :P
Hey Mr. Night Shift, for weathering try some products from "VMS" with Alkyd binders. These work more decent as Acrylic based. Cya xD btw. finsh is more natural and rectifiable too.
Night Shift
Oh well that pronounciation at the beginning was pretty accurate
I've thought about trying to use actual mud to dirty up the next kit I do.
Man, I'd love to see how you would tackle a gunpla kit.
Your videos are one of my only reasons to wait for the fridays. Thank you for the educational content. Also when will you build that panther? I will buy myself a panther and try to follow along.
Hmmm, maybe this year :)
@@NightShiftScaleModels thats great to hear! gotta start saving up for the panther.
I Love you work. Ive been working on A tiger 1 in 1/35, but i could do with some help and make the 131 tiger 1 in 1/48 scale in a dessert seen
"Dirty snob" eh uh that doesn't compute err wait, You are under arrest!
I'm glad it just doesn't work like that for you. Great job. TFS, G :)
I have no Aqualine acrylic dust here, but i got something quite similar is Ammo & Vallejo acrylic ground paste, it have some grit inside and be acrylic too,but i have no idea did they have fine texture as your use mud product or not. I wonder , did you have the chance to use both of them to compare them yet ?
what type of mud acrylic would you use for a t 34 love the videos
Man do I have questions for you. I went nuts with the Mr. surfacer 500. I noticed I can leave little bubbles behind or tiny holes. Is there a good way of getting rid of this? I used hair spray technique on the gun barrel but I’m not entirely happy might check out your chipping video again. Keep up the good work!
Central / Eastern Europe has all the kick-ass modellers, like Plasmo and Nightshift. Why is that, Martin??
radiation from Chernobyl 😅
@@NightShiftScaleModels ah yes! mutation zone causing super modelling powers ;)
“I only use the finest dirt” You snob :p
Can you recommend any alternatives to the Wilder "Textured Earth" and "Dry Earth"? These are nowhere available in Europe...
