I LOVE how your painting technique makes the Exhaust look "Heavy" and made of metal... These techniques can easily be used on other things where "Heat" is a major or constant factor. Again VERY NICE Martin! I'm a HUGE FAN! :D
Definition of layering :D Yes, please, I would love to see how to weather other tank exhausts, specially hetzer's which are very iconic and eye catching
I would love to see more Videos on this topic but longer is better you have a incredible way of teaching people the hobby. Everyone give Martin a thumbs up he has worked very hard on the awesome videos. He helping the hobby so much
Gotta say this. This channel is fantastic! Martin is a renowned modeller. He has written in several model magazines along side some of the best in the world and has a very successful youtube channel. Yet, he still takes the time to respond to questions from his subscribers. This goes a long way to me and I asume many others in this great hobby of ours. Keep up the great work, Martin.
Martin. Always good to see your videos I wish they were longer. More videos on exhausts would be good sharing your knowledge & experience is priceless. Thank you & well done.
Beautiful effect. The mesh makes it more complicated. For the flaky rust effect on exposed mufflers, like a Pz. IV or M41 Waler Bulldog, I like to add baking soda to the base coat and then dry-brush with a lighter tone to pick up the rough baking soda texture. Cheers!
Please do as much as possbile videos of exhausts and mufflers, showing the different techniques. I think as well that your comments and explanations is the videos have such a good result, they make me understand better and have some good laughs!
I'm down for anything you want to show us. I rather enjoy the running commentary so if it is a question of more video with less talking or less but with your explanations, I choose option 2.
Martin, that exhaust is exceptional! I keep thinking that you can't get better, but you keep outdoing yourself with amazing techniques! Plus, you're legit hilarious!
Fantastic result Martin. Good tip on using the brown/grey base coat. I will try it out on my next exhaust system. The use of multiple media and techniques is crucial in getting a realistic look. You nailed it mate.
Your attention to detail and results are amazing, but it seems like real life use and nature's course would be faster and easier than the pains you take to recreate them!
I enjoy the way you present your videos, I have not had this much fun watching your videos and listening to you explain how to finish the project. I love your humour and now I need to get some armour models now...thank you.
Very interesting and clearly demonstrated technic. Thank you for sharing your wonderful videos. I find your videos extremely interesting and useful I'm going to try this colour technic out just this afternoon on my current build. THANKS!
I come back to model making after 10 years and these films will help me a lot. If in 1/10 they will look like models from movies, then they will be a success. We are in touch: D.
Great video man, the exhaust looks crazy good. I just got into scale modeling recently and your videos are really helpful. Also, I love the bloopers at the end.
I got one question. Can I use a brush for this effect? Since airbrush is not an option cause it's super expensive in my country. Plus, I already bought every paint to make this lovely effect. Much appreciate!
Gosh man, I’ve learned so much from your videos, I think I’m a pretty good modeler, but you have showed me that I have so much to learn! And I’m so excited
Tiger exhaust would be great please. Make it a short video, or full length feature film, and yap all the way through if you want. I'm watching either way 😉
Always want more videos and would love to see you interpretation of a Tiger exhaust..... don’t hold back with talking it’s the whole reason your videos and commentary are the best by far! 🤗
I'd love a T-34 Olive green tank painted from A to Z with soft weathering , would be amazing, i'm learning so much watching your videos, trying to do the same effects with the paints i got on some tank bits to make tests, takes time and practice but your videos sure are very instructive! Keep up!
LOL it seems that watching you vids is becoming my way of closing up a Friday night! I am just realizing the great production values of your vids. Great choice of music , tone, lighting, format and lenght. Keep up the good work mate!
Thanks! Speaking of music, finding free music was getting really time consuming so I went the easy and lazy route and just picked one song that fits the style of my videos perfectly and just play it on loop in each video, very quietly of course.
Very nice work. Been seing your videos and they are great. I really like that you talk. That way I can do other stuff and listen to your tutorial and watch whenever needed. Keep going!!
This is really good!! I love your videos, you are so funny and you have a no-nonsense approach to everything. I will use this technique on my next exhaust.
I've never seen this technique before, but it turned out great! Also, I don't think you should talk less in the videos. I actually enjoy your videos more because you explain everything you're doing so well.
Yeah!!! Friday - Video Time. Gotta love Life Colour Rust paints - wouldn't use any other - highly recommended. Looks great how the tank base colour added to the exhaust ties it all together - nice touch. Do you ever use rust pigments?
Only when I add them to my enamel rust paints. And I only do that when I need to add more texture to the paint or when I'm afraid the paint would dry to a satin or glossy finish.
Hellow Martin! I thought the color scheme very please, and convincent, but my eyes missed the texture of the oxide....to me looks like more a heat wear effect then pure oxidation
I've not touched a model in years, and have since given all my kit to my nephew, but I'll be damned if your channel hasn't sucked me in.
Could always build them with him 👍
@@vasili1207 I wish I could, but I live quite a distance from him.
@@sr20ser. hehe you should have said he lived a few hills away ☺.. well when you do see him least you have something to talk about.

This guy is amazing. And has a great sense of humor as well
Never seen someone painting a exhaust like this, just the „normal“ way. Outstanding work on this one.
A genius at work.
I swear your finished projects come to life!
Your attention to detail rivals painters like Ivan Aivazovsky.
This is why modeling is the best hobby in the world, There is no limit what you can achieve 😊
Don't change anything, your videos are perfect
Top notch tutorial
I LOVE how your painting technique makes the Exhaust look "Heavy" and made of metal... These techniques can easily be used on other things where "Heat" is a major or constant factor.
Again VERY NICE Martin! I'm a HUGE FAN! :D
More exhausted Nightshift is always welcome. Especially if it involves Tiger's of any variety. 😅
Your technique is genius. I'm not only learning from watching , but enjoying these videos as well.

I think you are the best model Painter videographer on UA-cam
I’m learning a lot getting ready to paint a one to one scale L6/40
Thank you so much, Martin! You demystify all the info found in books/magazines. Much appreciated :)
Nice one Mr Kovac, a lot of work, but a nice end result 👍🏻
Thank you ,Martin .
Very, very inspirational. I also enjoy the bloopers as it shows us mortals, we all make mistakes from time to time. Kind Regards Johnny

Great stuff. Amazing. How about an old diesel stained exhaust leak from a worn seam or bullet hole.
