Pro tip: Cut a cookie from a scrap piece of plywood and screw it to the surface you want to cut the hole in. The cookie will act as a guide and can protect the wires at the same time.

Yes they are if they are “in wall.” But only 1 wire. You’ll need a cut in box for 2.
