@@harrycolon5301 You think that’s funny? It’s true. I worked as an editor at a publishing company here in South Korea for English/Korean textbooks. My boss who is also a friend for over a decade when I was teaching at university here told me I was no longer needed. He had Chst GPT now checking his English translations in his books which I did for seven years. It might take me a couple of eeeks to go through the who,e book checking and correcting the English grammar. Chat GPT can do that in three seconds so he doesn’t need me. He phoned me and told me that. Business went way down during Covid for three years. I thought things might be picking up and they are but then Chat GPT came along and I was finished. I estimate I lost about $93,000 in lost wages. I’m a foreigner so I didn’t get any Covid money from the Korean government. Because I had a stroke that left me permanently crippled on my left side I couldn’t take the vaccines which I’m glad I didn’t,so I couldn’t go home to Canada. There it was a mandatory two weeks in a Covid hotel and unvaxxed people couldn’t take any public transportation. I can’t drive because of my condition. I was stuck here but rent etc. continued plus physiotherapy and medications to stay alive every month. So I lost that money just staying alive and waiting for Covid to be over. Then just when I thought I might go back to work Chat GPT came along and put me out of whst job I had from 2015 to 2020. So now I am basically broke p, 72 years old, crippled and not going to make that money back and inflation has made Canada unliveable. Rents there are six times whst I pay for the same thing here. So I guess that’s funny.
@@phubblewubbphubblewubb jobs have come and gone. 200 years ago 97% of US population was farmers. Its called progress. If AI takes our jobs of our hands. Fine. More time for hobbies etc. The last thing we need to fear about AI is our jobs.
It's not just AI that is the problem. Watching this video, I felt like you were talking to me, but the truth is that you were alone in the woods, talking to a camera. This is not simply a problem of AI, but rather of digital communication. Yesterday, I saw a man trying to raise a cart full of boxes over a step. It looked precarious, so I offered to help him, and I did. Together, we raised it over the step. His smile and words of gratitude were from the heart. Even though this small interaction lasted only a few seconds before I walked away to attend to my own business, in that brief moment, I had a very real experience that stayed with me. I doubt that I will remember this video in the same way tomorrow, even though your discussion here is deeper than the small interaction I had with that man... But that small interaction was far more real.
Facts, just like the millions of other strangers of UA-cam spouting their opinions and so- called insight. Doesn’t really matter now though, we passed the threshold of common sense and critical thinking a few years into social BS media.
@@dianebarnes3180 Even before digital communication, there were lonely people who got second hand interaction by reading books and writing, while still struggling with loneliness. Standing in nature, talking to a camera, that seems lonely too. I've written responses to a few people online, not just AI today. I've said hi to my family in real life in the morning, but I still feel a bit lonely, as I sit here alone and type this message.
@@cvdinjapan7935 now they're really monetizing it. few people would sit home and read books all day, now everyone sits at home using tiktok, twitter, youtube, etc. all day and companies and collect their personal data.
In regards to people not being able to communicate in person, that is something I've noticed ever since the early days of the internet. A lot of people who are the most eager to get in confrontations with others online have zero social skills in real life & are afraid of the same kinds of confrontations in person that they engage in online.
I completely agree because it's beginning to happen now. My friends are so busy all I get are texts. You cannot convey feelings or humor over a text, and often there are misunderstandings. I'm already lonely...
I agree as well. It is hard to maintain friendships and family relationships over text message, and it's so easy for people to drop off, either from text exchanges or from relationships all together.
Well, al least they replied to you, for me, for some reason, they text me only when they need money or a ride or whatever, they to not ask straght up, they start with the "hey, it's been a while..." Even my girlfriend startedd to answer 1 time a day, ddespite being on her phone all the time, go figure....
I have a friend who's an extremely well loved artist, very sociable person and constantly traveling. He wrote to me the other day how he's starting to feel insecure, that no one likes him anymore. I couldn't beleive it, I asked him why. Because no one responds to his posts etc anymore. It broke my heart, because I know it's not about him at all, it's the goal of tech companies to make us all feel isolated. I'll just say what I told him, it's not you, in fact I'm sure you're surrounded by people who can relate to you.
You do not understand. From its program it has the capacity to mix and match to innovate. For example a basic salsa recipe. People change it. There is no people in AI except for the first recipe. AI can take that and turn it into 100 salsa recipes in a matter of seconds by mix matching any number of variables that people would have done. Understand now?
As Bjorn has explained. AI can replace you. So will robots. We are already seeing it when we call customer service or any toll free number. Automated reception provides you with a number to match your need. While it's efficient ... it's also obnoxious and time consuming for US. It is efficient for the company. AI could eliminate ALL human assistance. And you might not get what you need from it because it is programmed "to think." Meaning it can circumvent your question-s taking you in a circle back to where you started. "I am not programmed for that question." "I'm sorry you may not have that information." "But it belongs to me." '"Im sorry. Have a nice day."
@@boskostoybox AI does write a lot of it's code after humans give it starting parameters. But there is no I in AI. It is just a faster pc with more ram and storage.
@@debrapaulino918 What you should be concerned about is the use of AI as a tool for crimes and use as a scapegoat for crimes committed by humans. Also the monopolisation of the technology. You don't want it to fall into the wrong hands and if ti does, you want to be able to counter it with the same thing or have the same thing to act as a deterrent. That's what should really concern you. And the fact that people have such a superficial, one dimensional view of this.
It should have been a called back to raise arms against governments. That's why they attack masculinity so much. Because only men are capable of raising in arms and defy the government.
As a diagnosed schizophrenic I realise that it is a artificial construct and a product of alienation from modern life. Technology is not a solution to loneliness and insecurities are bile results. Strength comes through empathy and compassion through graft and social integrity and as Bjorn says through more natural integration with others and our environment however damaged. I'm going to get another dog and take it for long walks for we shall be genuine companions.
Totally agree with you on ur take of the AI. Cause I have thought this as well. These younger folks immersing themselves with it and worshipping it. Its causing a big disconnect in human interaction and being
You are spot on Bjorn! I have /had a friend who is 'addicted' to her phone and it's games and it's apps. She no longer visits as she is 'busy' - but it's only on the phone. Even if I visit, her phone is 'pinging' for her attention all the time. She won't (or can't as it's an addiction) turn it off. It has made me lonely. And it's very sad. 🙁
I think it’s also very rude when someone you have met to spend time with keeps checking their phone or texting! It is almost like you’re not as interesting as the others on their phone!
And before that, it was or even still is the television. My parents stared at it, and some family and friends still do. I don’t like to visit a friend/ family and the TV is on. Why bother. I’m not there to stare at TV or talk over it. Or how about the guy that calls me with TV blaring in background. Lol. I have no need for this type of person.

Lesson I learned early but without the sarcasm. Worked in IT since the 1980's and my boss at the time said 'do you want to cut code all your life, or do you want to do something helpful from a different perspective. There are some desperately needed old skills missing around the wicked problems and direction of technology, especially AI/ML that will never expire and don't require the mashing of keyboards.

Looking back at the first two terminator movies, it seems almost prophetic, rise of the machines, that’s where we are headed, thinking for yourself will be discouraged. We need to draw the line somewhere before it’s too late. As usual excellent video and perspective by Bjorn.

I think that the saddest part about the A.I. takeover is that people who have real artistic talent will no longer be recognized, because Artificial Intelligence will be the tool for making art, writing music, telling stories and much more. People born geniuses will not matter because almost all thinking will be done with A.I. and no hard work or dedication or passion will be put into anything because of robots.
Very well said on all fronts. Both ‘lone wolf’ and ‘ronin’ are often romanticized as a sort of one man army approach to life, but a closer look at the historical reality of those terms makes them much less appealing.

Thank you for talking about this, it is important. I see how AI is affecting people around me. Some are getting wage cuts as AI is doing now part of their job. Some are using it as a useful tool for software development. Some who are lonely chat to AI characters for entertainment. And all this has happened in a very short time! Let’s stay human. Let’s get together, make bonfires. Share meals. Share real stories.
Thank you for sharing your words. I guess lot of people have lost allready their connection to nature during the past few years. They are already cut off.....And they are used now to do what they get told.......... I do like your videos because you are speaking in the nature. Completely correct. Everything your saying. Im tired of trying to tell people this. And also tell my children this. It’s sad watching this happen in front of our eyes.
Loneliness is not only bad for you psychologically, but also physically. We literally have decades of scientific data proving it. A lot of people who say that they are loners, a lot of them are liars. If they truly were they wouldn't be happy about it. You'd also witness the physical effects of being lonely has their general health. I do believe that there is more behind the rise of diabetes, BP, cardiovascular problems, etc within younger people. Just the effects of touch reduces stress. For example, go years without a hug and see how that effects your body!
I love a babbling brook so much, I would be happy sitting there listening to the water and watching the little bugs skidding across the surface. What a beautiful place for your message!
I do not like being alone, who in their right mind does? As long as it is with someone that is the right one. Just settling for anyone for company does not cut it. Yes, you are 100% correct, we are not meant to be alone. If that was the case we would not flourish as a race and progress and grow.
I can only see this as the beginning of the end for humanity certainly in any form I wish to be part of. So many human jobs will be replaced by AI and in the very near future, if it’s not already happening in ways that we aren’t aware of.
A subject I feel many of us will be talking about for many reasons, because it will impact every aspect of our lives. Those who will get through this are the ones who understand nature and reality. This one is a game changer..
Grammarly does now correct texting. It's already there. It keeps you politically correct and watches out for how people may interpret what you send them. People's lack of confidence and loneliness is staggering... I've had many conversations regarding this exact subject. It was also our conclusion.

I agree, Bjorn! I'm working with people half my age that can't communicate adequately in person. My step daughter is always online and is forever complaining about people in the distance trolling and picking on her in fantasy gaming groups. She's afraid to deal with it because she is afraid of how complete strangers will react and "feel" about her 🙄.
I've been a sub for quite some time and am a content creator as well. It saddens me that UA-cam is giving you grief. I have a similar experience. I agree 💯% that AI will lead to (more) loneliness. War, famine, and disease historically is how development is slowed. The stops are scary but never last. AI is here. I have played with the free version. I have been to vision training for computers. The algorithm learns. Once AI can see it will gain sentience.

It is so important to heal oneself in nature. We, as humans, need to remain in touch with all that is natural. By this I mean the sights, sounds, smells and texture of natural features. ❤
You are right❤❤ I realized the AI and for 12 years only send handwritten sealded notes for physical meetings and developed a trusted team of worker friends for any project we need done. The goal seems to be to separate people from everything that has meaning beyond our reliance on the State. We have been separated from our faith (whichever that may be), separated from our history, culture, and heritage; separated from our communities and sense of nationhood; separated from Nature and herded into cities and urban centres; and even our sense of family, what makes a man/woman is being torn away and replaced with something so vague it amounts to nothing. So, no gods, no homeland, no history, no community, no traditions, no identity at all. The question is why do this to us?
It's not a coincidence AI is coming out now. They had it ready a long time ago, but the time was ready for it. It fits in their agenda. Just notice how perfect this ChatGPT was right from the start.
I agree with you about AI. I’ve heard some say AI will create more free time for humans or that AI will make all lives easier. It may begin that way but I’m of the opinion that humans need things of substance to do, worthy things to strive for and we will find that if everything is easy we will loose some of the drive that made us rise from the jungles and create or to yearn to live free.
I just had a chat with an AI today. The first question I had was would you like to be sentenent and an immediate answer was "I am not programed to think about those things." (parapharsed). Another question I had refered to emotions and it answered that it was not capable. It was an interesting question and answer session and I was amazed at how fast it could answer, almost immediately. Even when engaging it as a person, like saying thank you, it would respond like a human. It appreciated, it seemed, my compliments or as it said it was programmed to do so. That was interesting. One postive thing I did find out of the Q&A they are remarkable at providing data, much faster than Google Search but when I complemented it as such it had a modest answer and complmented Google. So, you are right that you could find yourself identifying with it. I'm going to stay away I think but I do a lot of research and may use it for such.

Young people have been enhancing their own work for some years now. Students have been using third parties to help them at college and university to make sure they get the best marks possibe using work that was not their own, AI will just make things worse. At 70 I have little interest in such things and havent tried it, but suspect it will make people weaker and less able to cope in the real world and less likely to venture into it.

The movie AI - atificial inteligence shows us how things can get if we follow that path. It also shows how people will base their knowledge and the truth of things on what AI has to say about everything. My partner and I live in the countryside and experiencing nature directly can't be compared on any level with the cold interaction human beings can have with any form of AI. It's meaningless, empty and lacks depth.
I couldn't agree more with you! The GPTs could be useful as an aide to tasks that can be animated like in computer programming, but the thought of using a GPT in order to write an essay for school seems ridiculous. I believe all of this is one of many parts of the "plan", which seeks to divide conquer and destroy. Unfortunately, the only way this ends is with violence against the slave masters.

A.I. - "I can't let you do that, Dave".
Daisy daissseeee....😉
Yeah 👌
In person interaction is first choice, second choice is learning from experiences of other people via other means.
A lot of people who are the most eager to get in confrontations with others online have zero social skills in real life & are afraid of the same kinds of confrontations in person that they engage in online.
keyboard warriors = cowards
Well yeah
Interesting observation. Kind of makes me feel sorry for them.
Well, al least they replied to you,
for me, for some reason, they text me only when they need money or a ride or whatever, they to not ask straght up, they start with the "hey, it's been a while..."
Even my girlfriend startedd to answer 1 time a day, ddespite being on her phone all the time, go figure....
I'll just say what I told him, it's not you, in fact I'm sure you're surrounded by people who can relate to you.
the problem with AI is it not going rogue but doing *exactly* what its programmed to do
Ah! But what if it reaches a point in the human programming and then programs itself. 🤔

When I lost my job, I was sarcastically told to "learn to code". So I did. Now AI is being used to write code. I can only laugh.

*I* would *Stop* talking to the *"A.I"* if I Were *You,* because *Having* an *"A.I"* as Your *"Friend"*
is like *Opening* the *7 Gates To Hell.*
And *Once* You get *Sucked* into that *Blackhole* there's *No* Coming *Back.*
Everyone should look at AI as perfecting whatever humans create. It'll perfect your perfect mate, musical tastes, cooking, but the problem is you aren't here to be perfect. We're perfect on the other side. You're here for a purpose and what that is nobody can know.
But you're here to take what is and create. AI doesn't create. It's going to either be a tool or a hindrance. You decide.
Every machine I seem to touch eventually breaks
I was just shooting the 3-D course in my backyard. Shooting my newest self bow (number 351) an Osage orange based on the Holmgaard artifact found in Denmark. I feel at home in the forest.
I can't imagine being much more alone than I already am, that would be awful.
As an introvert I dont like to meet people face to face. But when I write to someone I want the answers to a person, not some machine. I hate the idea of using AI when I write It had to be me no machine can be me, and my personality. I'm not perfect at all, but AI can't make same mistakes as I do. And those erros are what makes me. When I think AI it reminds me of movie Terminator.
😮😊yes you are correct. I recently experienced this myself texting with my cousin after we found out some surprising information about our family. Texting is not the same as coming together and talking and enjoying each others company for sure😊. Well, take care😊
Thank you Bjorn another great video .
❤❤
The worst aspect of AI is that it has no moral compass and can not discern critically or make rapid judgments such as humans are taught to do..
AI has the moral compass of the people who programmed it, and is subject to their bias or censorship, depending on its programming.
@@cvdinjapan7935 So what you're saying is that we're absolutely boned.
@@grainos5 Pretty much. However, it is also within our capacity (at least in theory) to program our own AI. Still, that's easier said than done.
Keep up the great work Bjorn.... Im 63 and alone Lots of the time..... watching you gives me company
I look forward to everything that you post.
Grand kids that visit their grand parents with their parents are all on their phones now .There is no real communications between the generations . There is no uptake of experience of the older generation . Being on the phone communicating with some one else sends a massage to the grand parents that the grand kids are not interested in what they have to say . So any of life's lessons will have to be learned the hard way . To bad, not listening has a price . AI gets into the mix you know thought processes are going to be skewed and truth harder to be found
I see the background and I so want to lie on the ground and face plant, then take the deepest breath to smell the earth. This is my favourite scent of all time, and moss 😎 excellent video and I couldn’t agree with you more! Thank you 💐
I work in the Information Technology field and i am scared shittles of AI.
A lot of my friends have lost jobs because AI is able to do it, not better, but doesn’t require pay or benefits.
If people understood how AI is bending their "free will" it would be banned! The visible AI is not the problem but that working on our innate sense of what it means to be human !
Another great topic and video. Please keep speaking out. Thank you
Lol you have squirrels that throw things at you too hahaha 😂
Yes, they are brutal.
Maybe it's their way to say they like us. The ones we have where I live do and then they bark at you as well 😁
I really see the lack of social skills with young people. Real-life has them filled with anxiety but their whole childhoods being driven by phones and computers has them depressed.
It's sad and the adults allowed this to happen and are often just as bad and unhealthy as the kids. It's so bizarre coming from a person who has no social media and rarely texts.
Looking forward to retirement so I can spend more time in nature. Thanks for the ideas brother.
I'm a 60 year old American artist living in Germany, and feeling very isolated by these trends. I very much appreciate these videos as I work. Very different lifestyle in many ways, but very similar thoughts and feelings.
I say this as someone who's currently writing their mater's thesis. The loneliness that will follow will be problematic. I believe all of this is one of many parts of the "plan", which seeks to divide conquer and destroy. Unfortunately, the only way this ends is with violence against the slave masters. There's no voting one's way outta this mess.
