Any guitarist spending an hour with Dave would learn volumes. Not only as a guitarist, a song writer, but as a guy who took his band, and kept it relevant, and going longer than most of his contemporaries.

The fact that the guy got kicked out of what would be arguably one of the most famous and influential metal bands and managed to score and get a band to be in a similar conversation is admirable

Conquer or Die is the first instrumental that Dave isn't soloing on. It says a lot about how he feels about your playing, because you kill it on that track and Dave simply backs you up. Same with the live show, where he stands back and let's you shine. You deserve it. You are easily in the top tier of Megadeth musicians and he knows what he has in you. I can't wait to hear the new material. I hope your influence is all over it.

In my opinion your "Eruption" is either your solo in "Waiting Silence" or "Acid Rain." Both of those are magical and create quite a standard in playing in achieving something beautiful yet technical at the same time but also moving.

Dave Mustaine such an incredible source of knowledge and wisdom. I can imagine, as a guitar player I wouldn’t even need to pick up my guitar to learn anything from him. I would pick up a lot from him just from shadowing him, watching his reactions and how he lives his life

Interesting thing. When i play classical guitar my composing skills become way better. I don't know why, but this is fact. Then i play new music on electric and sometimes it sounds good, sometimes it's better to play it only on acoustic. I just want to say that nylon seems like help to get more from inside of you.

I discovered you on streaming music services when I had no subscription. Tony MacAlpine "channel". You were just getting with Megadeth at that time, so I caught up to your solo stuff first. Your influence on me is similar to that of Dave on you. What I like is tracks like (way back time) Arcos De Lapa. I've never heard like, Jazz and Brazilian meet the Metallic before. That album has a few like that. Or "No Gravity" and songs similar to that which have a breath of fresh air in them. If I say that I think you're too much guitarist for that band, it's not a statement about Megadeth, but one about YOU. Guitarists who like to be all over the map don't generally like being cornered into one genre. But thank you for both career "paths" bro. And your personability, and your lessons and stuff.

Kiko is there a chance that you can record and give tips on Mixing everything together into a small riff of your choice?
This could be super beneficial because most people that learn to play an instrument want to start recording their riffs but get in trouble finding sound space for drums, bass and double or even triple guitars running at the same time, having the final mix sounding horrible and not knowing why!!
It could really help me for sure but even more i think people will be amazed by your work! =)

Canada here. I play mostly classical acoustic but I have to say that the cold is good for playing overall. Tropical humidity or even sweat hands due the heat are bad for nylon strings. Specially the fretboard hand because of the movement through the neck, slides, clearer sounds, precision etc. Not sure if its the same thing with electric and steel strings.

Yes and NO. Not having theory behind you is like just bringing a hammer to build a house. Your gonna want more tools than that. So just play and when you feel ready learn the theory you’ll know. Start by learning your pentatonics really well then you’ll be ready to take a theory dive. Getting versed in blues will help you a bunch. Good luck bud rock on

This being said, Kiko is a blazing guitarist in his own right. He’s got a style all his own with a mastery of multiple styles.

Hi Kiko, can Dave Mustaine play the Tornado of Souls solo? Can you post of video of him playing it? I think that would break the Internet. Thanks!
