Ukraine's been bombing Belgorad with Western cluster bombs for months now.
The russians aren't pretending that at all. what they are denying is how the blast came from the basement and originated on the Russian (western facing side)

For a start russia has had 20 years of military build up thanks to their gas and oil exports while ukraine was denied a strong military under Russian thumb. After 2014 ukraine still lacked a military and so the odds were still stacked against ukraine by 2022 with very limited western support. The fact that a country 3-4 times smaller than russia, has no real military industry is able to push push russia out of kherson, kharkiv, kyv etc and make Russian gains very slow and costly is heroic

It is enough to start to take big chunks on land though if Ukraine doesn't pull troops off the line from other places. In which case Russia makes faster advances elsewhere. It is the smart play. Sorry I'm only a minute in but this doesnt make sense.
The west does not allow ukraine to use western weapons on what they recognize as russian soil, so they cant interrupt troop formations massing inside russia. But a second later they are talking about a ukraine missile and artillery strike on civilians in belgorod. So.... does the west only allow its arms to be used against russia if its civilians who are targeted? OR do they not care how their weapons are used, and ukraine is choosing to use their limited resources on civilian rather than military targets? Neither is particularly encouraging.
