- Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has slammed the prime minister for leaving D-Day commemorations early.
Mr Farage said the row proves that Rishi Sunak is "'not a patriotic leader of the Conservative party".
The PM apologised and admitted he made a mistake in leaving the event early.

He called the election to disappear with his wife to California or some luxury castle somewhere while we need to deal with the consequences. (they had already applied for green cards and broke the rules by not moving to the USA before he became PM).

The idea of booking an interview to coincide with such a major event demands apologies from the attendee and the organiser as the interview date could have been rescheduled for a later date 💭.
"The Prime Minister is deeply patriotic and cares deeply about our country and our veterans. The interviewer should have been emphatic that we need to reschedule the interview date so that the PM can be present for the entire event of the day."
The PM has apologised, and the interviewer must apologise as it is the right thing to do.

The only reason for someone in Sunak's position to leave D day events early is if a close family member of his was seriously hurt or taken seriously ill and was in a life threatening condition in hospital. No other reason is acceptable at all. Especially a TV interview.
