    Hey! I'm currently on elevated pike holds and pike push ups and I do frog holds quite frequently too. I need to add in the flexibility and shoulder mobility and balance into my training. Thanks for this great video. I'm 2 weeks into my journey.

    I'm curent able to hold my handstand hold for 55 seconds max. Im trying hard to break 60seconds. However I move around a lot so im trying to get stable and work on where my form is lacking. It has taken me one year to get to where I am but I never realized I want to hold it while staying still and straight I think I struggle with he banana form . Started from ground zero, im 34 now and I have no gymnastics background! Im so excited to improve . ive been training from your videos for 3 days SOOOO excited.... but also nervous not doing weights but trying to trust the process

    Thank you guys for this video. I was wondering how you avoid any injuries while training the handstand? I have been having pain in my forearms and shoulders. Am I over training or doing something wrong?

    • @CalisthenicsFamily
      @CalisthenicsFamily  3 роки тому +4

      Thank you for your comment! We avoid injuries by warming up our wrists and forearms properly (3-5 min) and listening to our body. However, it also helps that we've been training for many years :)

    Ive been practicing handstands for a week now, best i got was a lucky 7 seconds... But i need to rest because my wrists are really sore and initially my left arse cheek/ thigh was sore 🤣... Its gonna take months to get the wrist strength before i can at least get regular 10+ seconds consistently

  • @shainegilbert

    Do you prefer doing them on parrelets or on the floor, i am starting to learn to handstand but i am not sure if i should start with hands on the floor or using parrelets

    • @moritzhoffmeister4824
      @moritzhoffmeister4824 3 роки тому

      Hands on floor is harder and tougher on the wrists but has great carryover to the parallettes, handstands on the parallettes is easier and better for the wrists but won't have a good carryover to the floor.

    • @CalisthenicsFamily
      @CalisthenicsFamily  3 роки тому +1

      Exactly what Moritz says below! We would suggest that you train both since it helps to master the handstand :)

    I already learned the handstand two years ago but I'm still afraid to attempt it on high parallel bars like the ones in the beginning and thumbnail of the video. Can you give me a tip how to overcome my fear of breaking my body if I fall forward? I have no issues bailing out of it on the ground but can't really press yet.

      Use a partner to hold you still or lay down a matt to break your fall!

      Depends on what your goal is, if you're goal is to focus on your flexibility, after your workout would be the best time since your body is already loose!

    I guess I'm the only one Struggling with doing Basics Exercises. When it's come to Handstand, I feel like I rather lose weight on Gym then I'll start practicing Handstand.
    Edit:
    When it's come to Handstand. I think this is one of the First Basic-Hard exercise to achive in-terms of Body weight exercise.
