Sorry for my ignorance master but what purpose do the 2 small square wood pieces you attach to the back of the jig on either side of the miter serve? You start cutting them at 5:30 in the video and fasten them to the fence at around 5:45 in the video. No one else has asked so it must be very obvious to everyone but me. Thank you for the lesson.
I got same question here, since he secure screws to miter gauge why need 2 more blocks? 2nd question, why he use 2 boards as vertical, I can use just a long vertical board and a short one as long as they are 90 degree, can't I?
Good combination of router and table saw to avoid cutting dovetails by hand (which I try to avoid at all cost). Nice trick with the router, to keep symmetry - I will copy that :-)
Simple and easy to duplicate. I see you use your table saw fence to square your work frequently. The fence is already square so why not make it easy for yourself. Enjoy your work.
I have seen many, many dovetail videos and this one is by far the very best one, easy to understand and reproduce. I will me using this method.

Those make the miter gauge put at the exact position all the time and they hold vertical board tightly.
Thanks for watching sir.
