Reading the comments about cost, complexity, overkill. This thing is solid! That's how a true craftsman builds something. Great job, all of your videos 👍
Nah. It’s just beyond what is needed to accomplish the job. Fine if all you want is project, a lot of time and motions if you are trying to make a living at woodworking. I was just going to make a resaw fence for sawing the boards for the overhead in a boat but decided to see if anyone had thought of a better mousetrap first. A ten-minute sled and 90* fence will be ten minutes, not hours in a day. I’ll be done the rips a long time before I’d be done with this fancy fence that far exceeds the utility required - and basically the same precision. Not criticizing- fine if you like projects. Not anything I’d ever do. My fence won’t cost me a dime (offcut pile) and essentially zero time investment. Nice work though
That's how a hobby-DIY guy makes a jig when time and cost are not and issue. A person that actually needed to get that log sawn for paying work would simply cut it down the middle then sawn off the face against a regular fence.
He clearly likes making jigs, and he does a solid job of it. I love that and I love watching him! I might just use some scrap wood and deck screws real quick, but it’s nice to watch him do his thing! 👍
DUDE!!! That Log Sawer is AWESOME!!!! You even got me looking at the Ortur Laser cutter! You should consider selling plans to these AMAZING things you're making!!!
Inspired. And copied. Thank you for the great idea. A safe way to cut logs. And if you're going to make something, make it nice. Nicely made jigs are as satisfying as any other project in the shop. 😊
My comment is in no way to detract from your creative genius and brilliant execution. “ they say money won’t buy you happiness, but it will definitely buy you nice tools!” 😂 all in good fun.
I have this exact same bandsaw and have been wanting make a sled of some sort to cut small logs on it. This is the ticket. I sure wish I had your dimensions, as my saw is the same. It would sure make it easier to build one of these with the exact dimensions. But I will just have to go through the process and figure it out. Great video and a very useful and safe to use jig. Congratulations on this, and thanks for sharing it with us. Jim
Heck yeah! Now you can make your own boards with this setup! (Short boards only, of course. Though with this guy’s talents, it wouldn’t be too hard for him to scale it up). Great job on the jig!
Wow such an informative video, creative jigs, artful and love all your dust control fixtures. This is one of my very favorite videos on woodworking to date ; )
like your jig. Just a quick question> I have the same Laguna make band saw, when I cut logs the saw blade guide block at the back( round) got hot and has a red glow where the back of saw blade meets the round back guide block. I am wondering did you had that happen? Is this normal ? sometimes I have the side guide blocks giving out sparks. Is that normal ? Thanks
Just what you said doesn't find the problem. Having sparks is not a problem. However, I think there is a problem if the ceramic block gets too hot. It is recommended to re-set or replace the blade with a new one.

Hi , do you think can i do this whit a medium bandsaw 750 watt or i will need bigger than (1100watt). The question is because I'm going to buy a bandsaw. Thanks a lot
Encore BRAVO
15:19 My brother, I have a cnc machine, this is a hand held tool, what is its measurement, I will make it myself, if you tell me its measurement, please
It is just a handle, you can copy from a comfortable plane or a hand saw, or make one that will fit your hand! Measurement is not critical in this case, except that it fits the user. Measure your hand!

One of the best jigs I've ever seen 👏
Thanks! Great jig. It looks very useful.
I've watched a 1/2 dozen videos today for a jig for this. THIS is ridiculous overkill for rough sawing a log. Good Lord.
I agree why not just put the clamps on the back piece. Not many bandsaws I know have an opening that large to handle the jig and a log of that size.
Rube goldberg is now out of a job

A solid, well-built jig will last for years. Hang it on the wall, and it's ready when you need it.
Sweet. An elegant solution for difficult problem. Nice work!
Wonderful jig. Professionally put together, very impressive. Thanks for sharig.
Great idea but cutting on a table saw without using a push stick is a wonderful way to loose a few fingers or a hand!

Fabulous job 👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice sir I made something similar but it's for my table saw. Have a great day
interesteing project, but I love all the other shop bits you have, the dust collection adapters are FANTASTIC
That's good idea, nice video
It’s very nice project… but is very difficult made that! Any way I like! Thank you for showing video!
Hi my friend do you think can i make this with 370 watt bandsaw
Of course, it can also be installed on small band saws. However, I think it will be difficult to cut thick wood.
@@carpentak thanks a lot
OK, this "jig" surpasses all my woodwork so far, and all my woodwork I'll ever do. 😂
That's a great way to make veneer too.
Quelle créativité bravo !
I had to stop @ 16. How many jigs did it take to make that jig ?
Hi , do you think can i do this whit a medium bandsaw 750 watt or i will need bigger than (1100watt).
The question is because I'm going to buy a bandsaw.
Thanks a lot
My band saw is 1500w. For this purpose, choose a band saw with high power if possible. It seems that 1000w is also possible to cut small trees.
Great job 😁👍👏
Merci

SUPER SUPER
Inspiring,, planning to build a jig for my workshop
Very nice work!
Sehr gut 👍🏻
Great work! My puny little band saw would just laugh at me for even *thinking* about doing anything like this though.

Why no push sticks on the table saw??
What do you mean? My table saw has push sticks.
Jó annak akinek ilyen jól felszerelt műhelye van.
