It's nice to see a precise sled without the usual base plate supporting the workpiece. For small table saws, every mm of usable blade depth is valuable!
What an awesome job and a beautiful sled. The only thing I could say is (being a retired woodworker and professional table saw operator for over 40 years ) when cutting wood on a table saw use constant motion while pushing the wood piece past the saw blade. Been telling this to trainees for years. I noticed you scar the wood as you stop and it can be plainly seen on the wood pieces you cut. I only say this to make you a better woodworker and show the public an even better you. I intend to make one of these designs when I open my shop. It's a really good design. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea and excellent video. I admire your workmanship and presentation. I hope that you and your loved ones keep well in this current health crisis. Best wishes from Australia.
Just a suggestion, wouldn't it be easier to glue up the two rabbeted boards then cut the bolt slot? I liked the method how you squared the unit to the blade. Excellent quality workmanship and attention to detail. The pointer is a nice touch. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your next video.
You can also use a t-slot router bit which will cut the channel in one shot, so you don't have to perform multiple cuts. Those have saved a lot of time for me.
Yes, if you have a router table and T-slot bit, not everyone does. What he shows you here is basically is how to build this without a router table so in essence he’s showing people two different ways simultaneously. (Assuming, like you, knowledge of what a T-slot bit does) I, too, admire is attention to detail and creativity. I only wish I had his patience instead of my usual practice of going a hundred miles an hour and trying to build everything in one day!
Excellent sled, video and work. I'm confused about one thing, when you attached the rule tape to the top, why did you go with this positioning vice zeroing it at the blade?
Saudações do Brasil amigo. Seu trabalho é lindo, limpo e impecável . Conquistou-me como inscrito e seguidor. Vou tentar seguir seu exemplo. Muita paz, saúde e felicidade. Obrigado.
It's funny I should see this today. I have been trying to come up in my mind a way to set the fence angle accurately without all the trial and error. My idea was to cut a 1" board on the right side using the miter slot and bouncing the square off it, LOL. The difference is that I plan to make a split sled where the left side or right side can be used independently or together as one sled. I see I saw this video in the past, so maybe that's where my mind picked it up. I have a lot of creative ideas, but I mostly get them from parts of many different sources over the years. I just sort them out to make one good idea from them. Thanks for the video. I needed this one today.
Pretty nice work, but there are much easier ways to accomplish the same thing. Waaa...y too many little parts. Really hard to keep from making an unacceptable cumulative error.
WHAT AN AWESOME BUILD!! Something else I've been meaning to make for a while but, I'm glad I waited...you have given me some great ideas. I really like the RED LINE on the clear acrylic...I may use my own blood for that...
Sorry about my belated reply. I fell in love with my job. Very busy with thinking over and over about next videos and preparing parts which I'm not accustomed to. There are so many strange hardware, bits and parts. Those are what I break through. Thanks buddy.
No worries about the slower replies. As your channel grows, you'll have less time to reply to these things and maybe eventually not have time to reply to any of them at all. I can certainly see that you are very diligent to reply as much as you can and you have not missed one yet. Pretty amazing actually. I'm sure it will make your subscribers very loyal to you and your content.

@@Erik_The_Viking I use table saw to cut a line first to remove some material for t-slot router bit go through easier.👍💪💖
@@206Seaman I make t-slots without a router table as it's easier to use an edge guide for more control.
You might credit John Heisz with this design a year earlier.

Good 👌👍👏

Did you use Hardwood for this project 🤔 ?
