The reason why there are different actors for several X-Men movies is because of the time the movie takes place. Some of the movie take place in the past (earlier than the original X-Men movies), so therefore different actors portray the younger versions of the mutants. This is also why they do cameos of Wolverine in the movies that take place in the past - it shows how Wolverine doesn't age and is always played by Hugh Jackman. ;)

Fun fact about Phoenix vs Apocolypse... As the Phoenix was the light and life of the universe, the Dark Phoenix represented power and destruction. In Days of Future Past, Logan told Xavier what William Stryker was going to do to him in the future and tells Xavier to find the X-Men. But in this movie, Xavier somehow forgets about all of this and just lets Stryker capture Logan...
Stryker capturing Logan is a destination paradox, and a fixed point, both. Also, Logan did not include himself in the list of names for Xavier to find. He knew he would have to go through all of that in the Weapon X program before he would end up with Xavier. Considering that Deadpool also came from that later, and we saw it in his first film, it is essential he go through that, because Wolverine is important to the development of other characters and their histories.

Days of Future Past was supposed to have changed the course of history. So apparently some people were born earlier or later and met each other at different times etc. Its comic books, they are like that.
10:50 I think Days of Future Past changed the character's timelines and their stories in general. All that is happening is because they changed the past.
This movie is in a different timeline from the previous X-men movies. They changed time. This was made evident in the scene from school where the teacher was teaching how a young mutant saved the president. Where in the old timeline, it was much later (the people were older) and information about the mutants was not a public thing and those who did know felt they had to eradicate them. So in this timeline being a mutant is less stigmatized. Therefore Archangel's father would be less stigmatized. Therefore Archangel would possibly not feel the same way about being a mutant. Hope that makes sense.
What people don't understand about apocalypse is that he wants to get rid of regular humans to pave the way for the next evolution in mankind which are mutants the same way that homosapians killed off the cromags. I'm not sayings his way is wrong but that's the way of nature.
In DBZ, it was Guru (the Grand Elder Namekian during the Freeza Saga) was the one who could unlock someone's hidden potential by holding the top of their head
During a Q&A session while promoting the Marvel series Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac was asked what was the one film or TV show he regrets making, and it was X MEN Apocalypse. He says that they "turned the character into a 2 dimensional James Bond villain who wanted nothing more than to wipe out humanity and repopulate the Earth with his mutant brethren." He even said that he didn't like the costume or the make up as he felt claustrophobic.
I can understand Peter’s hesitation when he tries to tell Erik he’s family. As an adopted child, I know first hand meeting my biological family and them not knowing who you are. A lot of things run through your head like ‘what if they don’t accept me?’ Or ‘what do they think happened to me’ or ‘why did they give me up in the first place’. Shit like that is very stressful, so I can understand why Peter got choked up.
I think Erik's change makes perfect sense, you see it as a loss of a few people versus the world, which... isn't the bad way to see it, but you have to recognize, this is days out of loosing the most important people in the world to him, he is not the first one to loose sign of everything when that happens. And remember what Apocalypse is selling, it's exactly what Magneto has always wanted, Mutant supremacy because if it hadnt been for humans and their overreactive fear, his family would be alive. Finally, you're expecting reason from a man who has always had to be on the recieving end of a lack of reason. He's seen his parents taken from him because of Mens hatred, killed for mens benefit, himself literally been made into a tool of the Nazi's, his extermination being ordered by the leaders of two world powers after trying to help them, super robots sent to wipe out his species. And you want him to show reason and balance? No, no human would be like Charles in the face of all that.
In the X-Men days of the future past Logan traveled through time and changed past so this is a different time when Raven didn't kill Trask and the robots weren't made that's why this movie is different than the ones you saw....
I believe the end credit scene mentioning Essex Corps. was intended to be alluding to the character/mutant Nathaniel Essex ( aka Mister Sinister) who in the animated series was a common rival of the X-men and one Apocalypse's biggest supporters. Mister Sinister was known for working heavily in the areas of genetic engineering or eugenics for the most part when it came to the topic of genetic mutations.
I think New Mutants was supposed to elaborated more into getting a Mister Sinister movie before Disney bought Fox and the FoX-Men series is officially over

Apocalypse unlocked their full power potential. Storm can only just manipulate the wind, after apocalypse enhanced her she can now also create electrical currents to control lightning and she can now manipulate the weather(wind, cloud, rain, lightning). Psylocke can only make psychic swords, after apocalypse enhanced her, psylocke can now make psychic whips and any shape she wants. Magneto only can manipulate magnetic field around him, after apocalypse enhanced him he can now manipulate the entire earth's magnetic field. He can cause earthquakes and tsunamis when he manipulates the earth's magnetic field. Angel obviously, his feather wings is replaced with metal sharp wings that has the same strength as adamantium metal.
The lack of continuity of the Foxverse of X-Men is definitely the series weakness. This should’ve been a multi movie series kinda like Thanos. Apocalypse should’ve been as difficult to bring down as Thanos. This movie still has killer parts!
If you go by feats alone, even live action Flash is still faster. He spent what seemed like a few hours from his perspective, but in reality was a split second when a nuke went off.
The reason Jean and Scott were alive last film is because once they sent Logan to the past they created a new timeline. The one we knew was blinked out of existence. That's also why Logan didn't know anything about his new timeline, his consciousness was the Logan of the nonexistent one; which, as we seen, becomes the main conscience. So these films no longer lead to the original trilogy, and why some mutants appear different from the ones portrayed in those. Think of the Ultimate comics universe were things happen sooner than the prime timeline
On the question on whos faster JV: The movie flash stopped & reversed time after an explosion took out the entire planet. Quicksilver was getting people out just about from an explosion of a mansion
My question for you... who's going to make eric pay for his crimes? Charles doesn't kill and nobody can keep Magneto locked up... Charles doesn't kill, and that's his friend.
You guys are forgetting that when Days of Future Past changed the timeline, it effectively erased everything that happened in the original trilogy. That's why you see Cyclops and Jean alive at the end of that movie. It's also why Nightcrawler in this movie is with the X-Men a lot sooner than he did in X2 and why Mystique isn't with Magneto anymore unlike in X1. On the other hand, seeing Wolverine in this film and in Deadpool 2 shows us that his Origins film wasn't completely erased but what did change is that Jean, Cyclops, and Nightcrawler helped him escape from Alkali lake while the Deadpool from 2016 kills his doppelganger.
Definitely agree about magneto. I will never feel sorry for him. He’s a murderer and because he feels bad for a split second we’re supposed to forget it.
I was at opening night at my town theater for this movie with all of my friends and we know the comic lore so seeing Essex Corp was one of those small things that I forgot about it but when I turned to ask one of my friends and ask "Who runs Essex Corp?" My friend replied "Mr. Sinister..." It was one of those "Oh sh!t" moments I will never forget

47:16 You can't outrun something if you don't know it's coming. If I snuck up on Quicksilver and very quietly hit him in the back of the head, I could probably knock him out. The Flash has been knocked out that way in the TV series.
When apocalypse takes a mutants body he gets that mutant's power too and he doesn't lose the ones he has already taken so he becomes a super mutant that is why he was so hard to beat against so many mutants
Jean Grey is an OMEGA lvl mutant (like Charles, Storm, Apocalypse, and Magneto. With the boost from the Phoenix entity, only a cosmic being of high tier (Eternity, the Living Tribunal, the "One Below all" or everyone's boss "The One Above all" could stop her.
Bryan Singer should've left the franchise after DOFP Because he already gave everything he had with DOFP, so it was a lot harder for him to outdo himself again
I hate the fact that : 1. The way they cut the movie, omg, have you seen the deleted footage ?? we were robbed. URGH Other than that, it's good movie
The Flash has a much higher threshold for speed than Quicksilver, but Quicksilver has a dramatically higher level of control and stability overall- if you wanted to compare them directly.
The hidden scene at the end.the people who took wolverine,s blood samples, the brief case read"Essex corp".that would be"Nathan Essex"a.k.a."sinister".😮
This is my personal favorite X-Men movies because of quicksilver and nothing else. Days of future past is close behind but this movie, the speedster is shown what a speedster can do which I always enjoy.
Nina's power is controlling birds. Birds follow magnetic fields when they fly so they wont get lost in the sky when traveling. Magneto's power is magnetic field manipulation. Nina having the power of controlling birds through magnetic field influence makes sense.

Well xmen 3 wouldve taken place almost 20 years after this Xmen mobie so it could make sense that this young version of Angel an Nightcrawler are the same ones just younger.
I always took the guy with wings to be a different guy. Like how people can share specific traits, I assumed there could be mutants with the same or similar powers as each other.

Lol
FUN FACT: Evan Peters injured his back for carrying this entire movie..
Sinister..." It was one of those "Oh sh!t" moments I will never forget
aaahhh My favorite Canadians saying hello all the way from Texas.
The post credit scene will lead up to Logan. They using his blood to create clones
wolverine has a insane healing factor which makes him almost impossible to kill by normal methods
Omg, More unintentional Comedy Gold from Jane !
Jane: But that's the tip, you gotta go deeper, to get beyond the tip🤣
I love how obsessed with having powers to get rich Justin is. Its funny.
1:09:44 when he said that “All is revealed” that was his namesake, revelation(apocalypse) when he said that he was saying that he is not the god of this world she is.
The reason is a different Angel is because this is a different timeline. Wolverine changed the timeline in Days of future past
“Who rules this world?” “Girls” I see a Beyoncé fan!!!! Hallelujah 😂
Really enjoyed the reaction. Thank you for this. I was one of the few that enjoyed this movie. I think it would be cool for you to react to X-Men: The Animated Series. Or even just certain episodes of it for Jane to see.
Thanks! We did. We have the episodes on our Patreon
47:16 You can't outrun something if you don't know it's coming. If I snuck up on Quicksilver and very quietly hit him in the back of the head, I could probably knock him out. The Flash has been knocked out that way in the TV series.
a guy on youtube took the time to calulate how fast quicksilver was when he cleared the school, he was running at 3.2 million miles per second
Y’all need to watch the next movie after this; Dark Phoenix
You may have just pitched the next sequel: "X men: Legal Consequences"
When apocalypse takes a mutants body he gets that mutant's power too and he doesn't lose the ones he has already taken so he becomes a super mutant that is why he was so hard to beat against so many mutants
Jean Grey is an OMEGA lvl mutant (like Charles, Storm, Apocalypse, and Magneto. With the boost from the Phoenix entity, only a cosmic being of high tier (Eternity, the Living Tribunal, the "One Below all" or everyone's boss "The One Above all" could stop her.
Bryan Singer should've left the franchise after DOFP
Because he already gave everything he had with DOFP, so it was a lot harder for him to outdo himself again
In the flash series season 4 ep 15 the flash made quicksilver look like a sloth compared to the quicksilver scene in this movie
If you can enjoy the little things from the X-Men movies
Then you're gonna enjoy DARK PHOENIX
She's OP!🔥
I hate the fact that :
1. Dark Phoenix movie make Jean Grey Phoenix history's wrong, as Phoenix should be noticing Jean while she was a child when her friend died after car accident not some "solar flare"
2. The way they cut the movie, omg, have you seen the deleted footage ?? we were robbed. URGH
Other than that, it's good movie
@@gethina-come7885 Still really isn't mate lol
X-MEN Days of future past changed the timeline, so the original X men movies & "First Class" movies are now different timelines.
Thank you for this reaction! You're very cool, guys!
Oscar Isaac - cool
Wolverine scene - cool
Quicksilver scene - brilliant
P.S. Jane, cool suit!
I'm just here for the QUICKSILVER Scenes
The Flash has a much higher threshold for speed than Quicksilver, but Quicksilver has a dramatically higher level of control and stability overall- if you wanted to compare them directly.
Also, Magneto has the ability of "blood bending", controlling the minerals in ur blood/body...
She was in the government, not a reporter...
The post credit is for the movie Logan. I’m excited to watch you guys react to Dark Phoenix cause it has beautiful effects
Easily one of the coolest scenes.
Nina's power is controlling birds.
Birds follow magnetic fields when they fly so they wont get lost in the sky when traveling.
Magneto's power is magnetic field manipulation.
Nina having the power of controlling birds through magnetic field influence makes sense.
The girl that was teleporting in days of future past was blink not psylocke.
1:05:49 his hands aren’t fast actually he needs to generate momentum. Can’t really do that in a short area and build the force necessary. The reason it worked with glass is because glass has a resonant frequency where it gets weak at a certain point of vibration and will shake itself apart
Logan, 2017
Dark Phoenix, 2019
The New Mutants, 2020
jennifer lawrence thinks she started the trend of female lead movies with hunger games🤣🤣🤣. she has lost her mind
🤣🤣🤣
She actually apoligized about that comment and said it was a blunder and it's certainly not what she meant, she just meant to convey how good it felt to be the star, female star/lead in that franchise.
16:55-17:07 "Would have to go deeper to get beyond the tip" Once again Jane never fails to disappoint with that humor of hers. lol 😂Also, I have to agree with JV that there are inconsistencies throughout the FOX/Marvel film universe that can't be ignored at times when it comes to particular characters and timeline events as well; and not even the multiverse theory or time travel can perfectly explain those errors away.
Well xmen 3 wouldve taken place almost 20 years after this Xmen mobie so it could make sense that this young version of Angel an Nightcrawler are the same ones just younger.
Despite the flaws I still really like this movie
I always took the guy with wings to be a different guy. Like how people can share specific traits, I assumed there could be mutants with the same or similar powers as each other.
It’s the same character
Yeah that’s what I say too
This Angel isn’t American while the other one is lol
Also guru was the one who touched Gohan and Krillin to upgrade their powers. 😉
Keep in mind this takes place after Days of Future Past. This is a whole new time-line.
They didn't recast jackman because he's been living for 100's of years because of his cell regeneration. You have watched the wolverine movies right?
Yelp. The Angel can't possibly beat The Blob, but!......
X-Men Quicksilver is so absurdly fast, his powers really can't be called speed, they're more like time molesting... LOL
The X MEN Characters have the best stories because it is about the hate and bigotry
And the way people treat each other
Storm is Perfect style of Comics.... Punk hair
Snydercut flash is faster than quicksilver, he reacted to the explosion but Barry went far beyond the speed of light
In the end credit scene was supposed to be Nathaniel Essex aka Mr Sinister
It’s the same angel but different at the same time because remember in days of future past Logan changed the future and past
They have to go deeper to go beyond the tip - jane😂😂😂😂😂
So great to see your reaction to this movie, I hope you both are doing well.
The different faces your wife makes and how many different ways she can say Justin is hilarious...
Slowing down time and stopping time are 2 different things.
In Days of Future Past, Raven changes decision to kill Trask, so it created another time line, where now everething is possible and don't need to become same line or characters as old X-man films
So Strider is from a Jackie Chan movie called The Tuxedo. Great movie to watch. An psylock was played by Olivia Munn
