Keep in mind that Charles had to keep Shaw frozen in place telepathically, meaning that he felt every excruciating second of Erik pushing the coin through his skull
"Keep in mind" Feel like there's room for a pun there lol
@@loganbigmoShaw couldn't help keeping it in mind.
@@loganbigmo Oh, there are so, so many! There are two sides to this coin. There are good reasons why people fear change.
The only problem with that scene is that there are no nerves in the brain. The only pain would be where the coin went in and exited. Still makes for a cool scene though😊
@@loganbigmoIs that just your 2¢?
What I like about Magneto and Charles is that even if they disagree, they still respect each other and still have friendship.
they have more than just friendship
magneto's reaction when charles died in last stand was phenomenal, both in the moment and when he ripped into one of his own followers for daring think his death was a good thing
i mean id hope a friendship features that
Their friendship was wonderfully performed in this film.
@@azbycx737yeah, it's a complicated relationship. They have a common goal to protect the mutants but due to their circumstances growing up, opposing visions to achieve that goal. But in the end, they still respect the other as being a fighter for mutants and they will team up to face threats to the entire mutant race
Michael Fassbender's portrayal of Magneto is definitely one of the highlights of all the X-Men young cast movies.
Agreed. If they merge the MCU and Fox, I wouldn't mind for them to recast quite a few characters. But I hope Fassbender gets to reprise his role.
@@dylanwade9825I don't think they'll keep fassbender. Unkess they do a captain ameruca type of deal to explain how he's srill relatively young, his age will be a big issue for the mcu. Charles can be younger, all the other can be younger. But magneto needs his background story because it justifies his entire motivation. Without it, he's not magneto, he's just some guy with magnetic powers calling himself magneto. I'd love to see fassbender reprise as magneto, but I think they'll cast an older version and come up with an excuse for how he's still alive in 2027 or whatever the mcu year currently is
@@docomega7862 Bro, you write Fassbender with smal f names start with big letters go back to school.
He is exceptional🤌🏻
My ONLY huge gripe with this movie is how they handled Darwin. He's probably the most un-killable character to ever come out of Marvel. When he faced a raging mindless Hulk one time, instead of his body adapting to be able to withstand him, it just teleported him to the other side of the planet. He got turned into pure energy one time and fused with another mutant who had powers similar to Kevin Bacons powers. Then he eventually reformed his body. And in this he just dies so easily lol.
My silly theory is he fused with Alex, since he gave him that last look and reached out to him. Alex is also an energy manipulator so maybe Darwins kicking around in there somewhere.
The fact they killed Darwin, the only black character in the movie with arguably the greatest powerset, never sat well with me either.
comepletely agree its sad they did him like this and the actor did such a great job too, its a sad world
I think they did it as an "oh shit" moment because he's the last character you'd expect to die. That being said, yeah his death was dumb.
My headcanon is that his abilities hadn't developed enough to save him but eh.
I knew nothing about him before this movie and still thought it was a stupid death. He was way to cool to die just from the little i’ve seen in this movie.
@@petermillar210 Zoe Kravitz isn't Black?
Bro that Darwin scene is still one of the most upsetting scene ever😭. Like His power is literally to adapt to survive. Man’s literally became death so the goddess of the death couldn’t kill him in the comics🌚
For real, they did him dirty, his powers have so much potential
Ikr. When I first watched the movie I was 100% sure that he would be in a post credit scene or return in the next one
The X-men have always been stories about civil rights and equality. Professor X and Magneto are allegories for Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Both wanting similar things, but very different views on how to attain them. Two of the best written characters in comic book history.
And they took full advantage of being set in a time period known for civil rights movements.
Nope, Xavier and Magneto being allegories for MLK and Malcolm X is actually a common misconception. In actuality, they are allegories for two Israeli prime ministers.
@@mueggsy lol Erik literally said ‘by any means necessary’ so it’s obvious the movies at least are clearly painting him Malcolm X and Charles as MLK, if you know something different you’re gonna have to give a little more than just no op is mistaken haha
@@mueggsy sorry history phd here you are wrong they are allegories for X and King
@V_4_Versace Sure. I would have linked my source in my comment, but you know how UA-cam is lol. It's titled "Professor X & Magneto Were NOT Based On Martin Luther King & Malcolm X" by Screenrant, you can look it up.
I pasted the key quote from the article in the paragraph below. For context, Chris Claremont is the most influential writer on the Uncanny X-Men comics and is the one who developed Magneto's backstory. He is also - like many early comic book writers - jewish, and spent some of his youth in Israel, hence his inspiration for basing Professor X and Magneto off of those two Israeli PMs.
"'There’s a lot of talk online now that Magneto stands in for Malcolm X and Xavier stands in for Martin Luther King...but for me, being an immigrant white, to make that analogy felt incredibly presumptuous,' Claremont states. 'An equivalent analogy could be made to Menachem Begin as Magneto, evolving through his life from a terrorist in 1947 to a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize 30 years later.'"
(Menachem Begin is the PM Magneto was based on.)
Hope this helps!
Charles and Erik's relationship showcased here is SOLID GOLD. The dish moment moves me greatly everytime I see it. I wish there had been some Feige-like focus during this stage of X-Men development because James McAvoy & Michael Fassbinder are "juggernauts" here.
heh, X-Men pun
This is probably my favorite too. Wolverine’s one line was an adlib. He wasn’t supposed to say that, and the actors playing Magnito and Prof. X both assumed they’d have to reshoot so they looked at one another, turned around and walked out….and the director LOVED it!
That’s actually so funny 😂
“Let’s just say I’m Frankenstein’s Monster, and I’m looking for my creator” I can’t believe Alex slept on that line, it’s pretty badass
I'm not sure he understood what was going on there.
Probably telling a dick joke.....
you can't? Lol...he definitely jumps the gun on most things before it gets explained or even thinks about it.
@@Dugrath Actually you make a good point 🤣
It's pretty corny, the way it's delivered and the way the scene is filmed, if there were last emphasis in making it cool and were delivered more naturally it could have been better, execution is key
Fun fact: When Mystique is in Erik's bed and she transforms herself to look older the actress that appears is Rebecca Romijn the one who played Mystique in the previous movies

I think a lot of people fail to understand how damaging and traumatizing it is to think of mystique as someone who you could have be anyone besides her for your “fantasies”. It’s kind of the main theme they try to point out in this movie with her. She feels like no one wants her for her, they all want her to be other people
Which is why Magneto had such an effect on her. He offered what she *most* wanted in a way that nobody else did.
Relax, it's a comic book character with a power that doesn't exit. Chill.

Honestly nervous to post this because I feel like people are going to come after me in the comments and people can be effing mean as hell. But.... I'm risking it.

I absolutely love Michael Fassbender as Magneto, his soundtrack in this movie goes hard. Always gives me chills. X-Men First Class and Days of Future Past are my favorite movies of the franchise. Can't wait for you to watch the other ones.
The irony is that the only reason Magneto can do all of the crazy things we see him do in the earlier movies is because Prof. X helps him unlock his full potential.

I agree with the title. I absolutely love this movie. Magneto and Xavier really steal the show for me but all of the cast is great!
It is the best X-men movie if you don’t count Logan as an x-men movie
AGREED.Saw this film at the cinema and was thrilled to the-BONE !!! LOL. The time-jump was unexpected, but, necessary.LOVED the way it's tied toa historical event.Jennifer Lawrence is-GORGEOUS-in this film.
Charles and Erik should ALWAYS steal the show. They're the heart of the Xmen comics origins, and the movies have had two perfect rounds of casting for them. Marvel better nail them when they decide to do the Xmen in the MCU
You can say Magneto “steeled” the movie
I'll forever remember this movie as the one that got me to read the marvel comics when it came out
The Angel in this film is actually from much later in the continuity in the comics, but is pretty accurate to what she's supposed to be. The REAL Angel who was part of the original X-Men lineup was Warren Worthington III, and he had actual angel wings (you saw him in X3).
Hmm it's angel salvadore
Watching this reaction reminded me just how good First Class is. Such an incredible way of explaining the origins of the X-Men. The arcs are incredible in the film with amazing callbacks. Definitely one of my favorites in the entire series.
fun fact the red teleporter Azazel and Mystique are Nightcrawlers parents in the comics thats why his skins blue and he can teleport
I love it when films include tiny little throwaway moments and this film has one of my favourites.
When the plane is crashing and Charles isn't safely seated Erik sprawls on top of him and magnetically presses him into the floor.
It's only on screen for a fraction of a second but it says so much about how creative Erik is and how much he instinctively cares about Charles.
Magneto will deliberately be a good person when he doesn't feel like he has to prove shit.
i love the bromance between charles and erik. fassbender and mcavoy's dynamic was so good on screen and you can really feel that they care about each other so much.
It's my favorite minor moment of the film!!!! The way I rave about those 5 seconds.
Erik sees Charles on the floor of the jet, and he throws himself to protect him. I just -chefs kiss- so good.
I have seen this movie a few times and this reaction was the first time I actually noticed it. So awesome. You can find new stuff every time you watch this movie. :)
Completely agree. It’s such a quick scene, but it has always been one of my favourite moments in the entire X-Men series.
This is definitely my top 3 X-Men movies. The casting was on point.
Also, why don't more people realize that poor Charles felt every second of that coin passing through his head.
I don't understand...i can't remember the movie very well, but if Charles couldn't hold Shaw for long time, what was he supposed to do with him if magneto doesn't kill him?
@@KaiserM3probably just knock him out to neutralize him, then let the cia take over for arrest. But that all changed once the they turned their guns on the island
Oh btw! Alex Summers or Havoc (the young mutant who could shoot the spinning red discs) is Scott Summers (Cyclopes from the original X-Men movies) older brother!
Michael Fassbender was a really good choice for Erik/Magneto as well. He really captures a lot of that presence Ian McKellon does.
Older brother-in the movies but cyclop's younger bro in the comics
Yeah .. is there a painting somewhere of the Bramble Bush that is X-Family Relations ?
This movie's greatest crime is killing Darwin.
In the comics Darwin is literally unkillable. That's his whole thing, his body can adapt to survive ANYTHING. One time he went up against the Hulk, and his body adapted by teleporting Darwin as far away from the Hulk as possible. He once faced Hela, the goddess of death who can kill anyone with just a touch... His body adapted by TURNING HIM INTO A DEATH GOD.
One of the most interesting Marvel characters with a very unpredictable ability. And this movie killed him off before he could do anything cool.
This movie was just beautifully done. Perfection. BUT, Days of Future Past literally breaks every chart of amazingness to me. I can't wait for your reaction 😁
Agreed, Days of Future past is better
I know right. DOFP is also so sad too. Its my favourite of the franchise along with First class.
Xmen Days of Future past is the best one in the whole series for me, but people always seem to forget about First Class. It deserves credit for sure. I think it has been kind of tainted by the newer Xmen movies. They were soo meh compared to First Class and it's such a shame bc they had such a great cast for a new era of Xmen movies and the writer's went and ruined it.
Banshee's ability to "fly" is always amazing to watch
The go f- yourself from wolverine was unscripted so McAvoy and fassbender's reactions were genuine in their shock. And Moira had an appearance in x3 when they were talking about the patient who didn't have a consciousness
It was really refreshing to see Alex actually realise what was happening in front of his eyes. You know, for once.
😂
I've seen this movie probably 10 times, and I still don't understand why young Magneto killed the Nazi guards, destroyed the lab, but never killed Kevin Bacon's character right then and there.
He couldn't have killed him if he had tried. Shaw was way too powerful and Eric was a child.
@@dmanimousprime3858 But...Shaw didn't have any powers at that point when Eric was a child. Remember, on the yacht Shaw said his powers kept him young? He looked considerably older in that first opening scene with little Magneto, and he was clearly looking for Mutants to experiment on as indicated by the laboratory behind the glass wall. I believe at that point, Shaw had no powers and was working for a way to give himself abilities. True, the movie never actually confirms any of this, but it's kind of implied.
@@starbrand3726 Shaw is a mutant, he got his powers when he was a teen like every other mutant
@@Jmgjgdjd5Erik didn't knew that tho.
He was a child, i assume.
Still can't get over how they killed the unkillable with Darwin, he literally adapts to anything. there are videos on this very thing
This has got to be one of my favorite X-men movies.
Adding to what you said about Charles and Erik being at opposite ends of the spectrum, their childhoods were also about as different as you could get. Charles literally grew up in a mansion and Erik spent his childhood being persecuted by the Nazis. As much as Charles is capable of empathy bc of his power I don’t think he can truly understand how Mystique and Erik feel. He just had a glimpse of Erik’s life while Erik actually lived it for years. Erik survived the holocaust, he sees the hatred ppl have for mutants and he can see it escalating in an extreme way. Like you said, getting their backstory really helps you understand both characters.
Something I noticed as well was that it took a lot of interference and manipulation from Shaw's group for those men to actually go to war. But after seeing the mutants’ display of power, they came to the decision on their own to reign fire.
Also, it’s so funny when you surprise yourself and then go “What??” like you’re just saying your intrusive thoughts out loud but don’t process it until afterwards
This is my favourite movie in the franchise. Magneto was at his best here. I've always love his character but this movie fleshed him out completely. His relationship with Charles was great too you really understand how important they are to each other and it contextualizes the sense of mutual respect between them we see in the other movies really well. Its just great.
The part at 20:53 with Wolverine was a improvised line when they were leaving it was to reset the scene but as you can see the improvised line was the take they went with

The thing I have always loved about X-Men is that there is often no clear villain or hero, because both sides have valid arguments. Of course one side is far more extreme and dangerous in how they carry out their actions, but they are often doing it for the same reason... to survive.
I really like this one. But man it's a crime what they did with Darwin. His power is that no matter what happens to him, his power will adapt for him to survive. Like at one point in the comics he faced off with Hela (goddess of death), and his powers just made him a god of death as well... The dude litterally cannot die, and he was only included in the plot to get killed.
And when fighting the Hulk, the power to adapt teleported him away. The literal real best defense against the Hulk, don't be there.
@@MorderElg Yeah. There was one point where he was infected with a virus or something that targeted the nervous system and his powers made him a sponge because they don't have nerves. lol His powers are wild.

This movie does the X-Men team the best! The teaching on how to use their powers, the team dynamic, the character developments, it’s all top notch
41:08 Best score, character development, the whole scene overall is breathe taking. The goosebumps and shivers down my spine the first time I watched this scene are unforgettable. This isn't my favorite X-Men film, but it is an incredible movie.
Charles and Erik's friendship is great which makes the way they are in the future sad. They both want mutants to be accepted, but their methods as you mentioned are the extreme of each other. I do think in recent comic books Magneto has actually joined the X-Men so maybe film wise his character will find some form of peace.

DOFP was crazy cool. Such a bizarre and unique idea that just worked really well.
This is the Magneto I want in the MCU to be honest.
Michael Fassbender was fantastic in all of these prequel movies. I loved Ian McKellen too, but we didn't get to see nearly as much for the awesome power that Magneto has access to until the prequels came out.
Seeing Magneto's arc all the way through the various prequel movies is just an amazing journey.
you'll empathize with him a lot more through that journey.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned, but when Magneto says maybe when Mystique is older, they brought back the actress who played Mystique in Xmen 1-3. Always love the reaction Alex, looking forward to whatever is next
Not putting TOO much stake in timeline’s accuracy is the best way to watch the X-Men films. There’s enough continuity to make it work but it’s way more fun that way.
I love this movie. I have lost count as to how many times I've seen it, and own it both digitally and on blu-ray, lol. I still tear up every time during the scene where Charles unlocks Erik's full power. Michael Fassbender's acting in that scene is unbelievably powerful.
The "I'm Frakenstein's monster" qoute is actually pretty good. cause Kevin Bacon is basically Dr. Frankenstein and basically made Magneto into the monster he is by killing his mother and forcing him to unleash his hate and power.
The close-up on Eric's face as he says "Never again" is so impactful. It's a shame that so many won't understand the significance of those words to him and to the world.
Cassidy is such a flirty dork, I mean the moment that girl told him she would rather go out with the fish he used his whistle to move them all away so he would look like the only fish in that tank, thus making her kinda regretting what she said!
This movie is my favorite, so fun to watch and the cast is amazing! So happy you liked it too!!
I'm very happy woth how much you loved this movie. It might be my favorite, even with growing up with the trilogy. Some people weren't fans but it felt like a comic book come to life for me. And Michael Fassbender is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors
The X-Men team were done perfectly in this movie. From them joining Charles, learning how to use their powers, and team building with beautiful character development. The other movies didn’t come close to it
I grew up on the original X-Men trilogy but this one is my most favorite movie in the X-Men universe. I seriously loved Michael Fassbinder and James McAvoy's portrayal as Charles and Erik. They had good chemistry and even the philosophical aspects of the movie were great where you can get both sides between Erik and Charles's ideology instead of original movies where mostly Erik's side is seen as bad and Charles's side is seen as good.
To quote magneto - Perfection (in case you missed it - the actress from X1-3 played the adult Mystique in that scene too). The ONLY thing that spoils this film is Fass reverting to Irish on the Island for absolutely no reason :D DOFP is also awesome as hell and I eagerly await the reaction to that
'oh that's the blue guy??' - your ability to keep up is astounding
Moira appeared multiple times in the comics. She was an ex-lover of Professor X, and was a scientist who ran a mutant genetics research lab at an island off the coast of Scotland, called Muir Island. (Pronounced mee-yur)
And she just made the series go off the rails in that she was a mutant with a really weird power
Moira was in the third movie, but only as a minor cameo. She's one of those cases where, in the comics, she's a MAJOR character with a ton of involvement in various stories over the years, having been a romantic partner to both Xavier AND Banshee (screamy guy) at different times.
But in the movies, she's just kinda there.
It always freaks me out to think of banshee and moira together with this cast, l o l

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin
Throughout the first 3 “main series” X-Men movies, Magneto has a bunch of badass moments that were further accentuated by how strong of an actor Ian McKellen is. The first movie where he holds all the weapons against the cops at the train station, the second movie where he lays waste to Styker’s guards or when he reconstructs Cerebro. And the third movie where he wins over the crowd at the rally, or when he flips the semi truck like it’s nothing.
Wasn’t sure how anyone else was gonna carry that badass energy as well as McKellen did going into this movie… and then 10:52 happens and is probably my favorite Magneto scene to date. On you're timeline question, First Class is canonical to the original trilogy even if it retcons some aspects such as showing Charles losing the ability to walk in the 1960s. If you recall back to X3 we saw an de-aged Professor X and Magneto meeting a young Jean Grey sometime in the 1980s where Charles was walking. He also showed up at the end of X-Men Origins: Wolverine once again de-aged and walking sometime in the early 1980s where he takes in all these captured Mutants. But beyond this First Class flows naturally into the original X-Men films where these characters will grow into their older counterparts seen in the original films.
Timeline:
X-Men: First Class - *1962*
X-Men Origins: Wolverine - *Mainly 1979*
X3's flashback - *1986*
X-Men - *2004*
X2 - *2004*
X3 - *2006*
The Wolverine - *Spoiler*
X-Men: Days of Future Past - *Spoiler*
Why did I exclude the other X-Men films? Well you'll learn about that when you watch Days of Future Past, can't explain for spoiler reasons.
X3's flashback is 1986, not 1990s, and Xavier walking at the end of Origins is 1979, but yeah. Truly a messy, muddy timeline.
Spoiler for Days of Future past (just in case anyone hasn't seen it yet, other than Alex...)
.
.
.
.
Technically Professor X walking in the flashbacks in the trilogy don't HAVE to be retconned, since in Days of Future past Beast develops a drug that allows X to walk. X of course stops taking it because it prevents him from using his mutant powers, but in the time period in between there may have been other versions of the drug that had either less severe side-effects (perhaps just limiting his powers instead of preventing him from using them completely.) Of course, by the original trilogy time period X has given up on that and has just accepted being paralyzed.
He could easily have just been making them believe he was walking. Not sure why he would but its plausible
@@loganbigmo Cheers, idk why I remembered Origins bleeding into the early 1980s.
@@SuperDrocket Honestly, that explanation is so flimsy that I'd rather go with a full retcon than believe in all the possible explanations
My favourite factoid about Magneto's powerset is that he doesn't GENERATE magnetic fields, he can manipulate them. It's a subtle difference, until your story involves him altering the Earth's entire magnetic field and causing absolute chaos.
I love that you changed the title after seeing “Days of Future Past”!
My Favourite X Men movie. That scene with Frankensein's monster gives me chills every time
Love this movie. Certainly in the top 3 of my favorite X-men movies
I'm so glad you're getting into X-Men. They have an amazing world of characters and conflicts. This one was one of my favorites. The next one is my favorite in the whole series. People aren't huge fans of the two after that, but I just like the world, so I thought they were alright.
i just think dark phoenix was pretty bad but personally i loved apocalypse 🤷🏾♀️🫢
Sometimes I can’t even tell if Alex is watching the movie with everything he misses 😭😭
That's true. By giving you an analogy, he's basically like your normal employee in a company who's not happy with his job and just doing it for the money. He's not happy with what his doing, he's not invested with what his doing but doing it anyways since he's earning money.
@@humweveveshitty analysis
@@humwevevehanks for the armchair analysis kiddo very helpful👍
@@humweveveharsh
@@humweveve Yikes, I wouldn't say that. My mom also loves watching movies but sometimes I won't believe the things SHE misses either. You can tell from the way Alex reacts that he does care about this. That's why I still watch him, he feels actually genuine
Moira MacTaggert was also in X-Men 3: The Last Stand. She was the one taking care of Prof X's twin brother (the one with no mind). Xavier moved his mind into his brother's body when Jean / Phoenix destroyed his body.
X-Men First Class is rated by many as one of the better X-Men movies. It's one of my favorites. I rank it 3rd. The top 2 you have yet to see. I'm be interested where you would rank them when you see them.
I actually think it's one of the worst, but it's still mostly good. I like 1- mostly for the style and origin. Objectively speaking, it's not the best, but still good story and acting, etc. I always liked 3 the most, but now think it's not at the top. This and most of the others are good. I think Logan is the best and 2. I also personally love the Origins movie, but it has its problems.
Raven's acting in 1-3 is far beyond these movies. Jen just cannot act and is wrong for the role. Most overrated woman in Hollywood, possibly.
Also, isn't the whole 'mind in twin' thing fan-made, or at least not actually official? I don't remember that from The Last Stand.
@@SwitchTalkChannel I'm not a comic reader but I think the whole twin thing is an adaptation of something in the comics
@@SwitchTalkChannel I liked Last Stand too but I know it has flaws especially through comics lore. First Class really captures Charles and Erik's dynamics so well and puts in interesting points on both of their ideologies. The only issue with this is the duality of Emma being in two separate timelines and Darwin being done so dirty when his power literally is about adaptation. I agree about Jennifer being a miscast cause her version of Raven just ain't what made Raven cool. Raven is given so much extra screentime in her version that too for scenes that goes opposite to what she actually is that it makes her character look pathetic. The "mind in twin" is actually a plot from the comics. Charles had a twin brother who was born brain dead because of Charles's powers during the womb. They still kept him on the bed under medicine usage, so when at one point Charles died, he transferred his conscience to his brother's body.
In the comic his twin is super evil (because of course) and has the most base motivation: survival. Prof X tried and failed to kill her while next to her in utero. She's brilliant but views every other mutant as a threat to herself. She created a mountain sized sentinel that wiped out millions on Genosha and destroyed the Shi'ar empire by manipulating Lilandra and her imperial guard. I would actually like to see some elaboration on the comatose twin in the movie. Did Charles wipe his brother's mind when he found a psychic that might one day threaten himself?
@@VolguusZildrohar Old comics or new comics? What was the year that they wrote that into the comics, do you know?
literally nothing goes as hard as Magneto's theme in this movie
Some personal thoughts concerning the "liberty vs security" question: of course it's much too nuanced to have a simple answer, but if we are talking in very broad general terms, there is a very nice quote. It goes something like this:
"Never give up your freedom in exchange for security, because as soon as you do, you will have neither".
Yay, Alex steps in and makes Monday fun with another great reaction! 💕
I love this movie. It has fantastic energy and they use the time period beautifully.
Such a wonderful cast. They were all amazing. Easily my favorite X-Men movie! Can't wait for your next reaction!
Hand Feet guy is Hank also known as Beast, you might have seen him before but Blue and very much covered in fur
I saw this in the theater and Hugh Jackman's line got a HUGE laugh. It was awesome! XD
Finally have been waiting for you to get to this one grew up watching it and love it and the whole last part I love a lot especially the heart feel of what Xavier says when he can't feel his legs
The music, the camera movement, and “adapt to this” such a badass line and fassbender and mcavoy own this movie!
In the previous movies, Magneto was but the villain, here he is a tortured man who needs a helping and friendly hand. You can for sure empathize with that.
This film is where they bring the extra scary to Magneto, as though he hasn't been scary enough before, enhanced by that ominous theme. Xavier and Magneto are both by far the best part of this film.
Ahh can’t wait for you to see the rest of X-Men movies they are also so good especially the next two. I love when QuickSilver gets introduced.
I love how magneto holds Professor X down as the plane flips! Shows his love and respect for Charles!
Was so excited for this reaction 🎉❤
Shaw's death scene always gives me chills! Amazing video Alex!
I literally SQUEALED like a girl when this notification popped up.
YES! The timeline it’s EXTRA confusing for new watchers If they watch the saga according to release order. But once you get it you’ll be a pro explaining everything to a future first watcher.
This movie is FIRE. I’m so ready to get home and watch this reaction. I love how you’ve been really into the storyline with these movies. This is Top 3 for me.
Top 1 is DOFP: The Rogue Cut.
PLEASE watch the Rogue Cut instead of original DOFP. I super recommend it. You were disappointed in Rogue on The Last Stand…..
That’s all I’ll say!!
This is FOR SURE my favorite X-men movie. They’re all good in their own way but I love seeing how they came together like this!
Bro u got the best vibe lol been watching ur channel forever love watchn movies n shows together
I really think the X-men universe is great, all of the movies are awesome. Maybe my favourite movie is days of the future past, but this one is surely in the top 3.
I agree that the relationship between Charles and Erik is great, very complex and yet very understandable.
The security vs. liberty discussion always ends with liberty on top, no matter how precarious the balance.
Edit:
Absolutely digging the special effects you are adding with reaction comments. Effing solid.
Love the vidssss I been binge watching you lmao😭
This makes me happy 😂❤
I love where they go with the story its crazy but I love them more as they go ❤ cant wait to see you do more
Alex you better post the next movie today. The waiting is killing me😭
I agree with the title! _X-Men: First Class_ is the best "X-Men" movie, and its sequel _Days of Future Past_ is good, too! Idk how far you are on Patreon, Alex, but I hope you watched the extended cut for _Days of Future Past_ (it's called the Rogue Cut)
Well, the quote from Benjamin Franklin is "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." So, I choose Liberty
"its all over the place" LMAO true glad he knows how we felt over the years these came out
This was considered the "redemption" of the X-men franchise because at this point the MCU was growing and the super hero movie genre had really found its footing. People were looking back at the original X-men movies (and even the Sam Rami Spidermans to an extent) and only saw the cringey parts. The truth is the genre would be no where without those early 2000s films. But honestly this and Day of Future Past are the two from this franchise I can watch over and over and over.
YES, i have been waiting for these ones the moment you started reacting to X-Men. DOFP ist my alltime favourite, but First Class is soooo amazing too. I love McAvoy as Xavier
