We're (people who play Raid already) about to have what's called a x2 event for blue shards. Which means you have a double chance of getting an even better champion out of that ancient shard. Just sayin' .... it's free. I'm playing it on a second screen as I watch this video.
Speaking of people who inspire . . . YOU inspired me to start making my own terrain! You convinced me to just take a leap of faith and give it a shot. Cant thank you enough.
Whilst I cannot deny Sol Vince is a talented man, I'd rank creators like yourselves above them as budget plays a huge role in these sorts of pieces. If you've got the money to throw at them you'll be able to create a great piece. Buying a bunch of GW terrain and slicing it together certainly takes skill but creating a similiar thing with a minimal budget? Thats a master of this craft.
I watched this video when first posted and thought Wow! Congratulations on picking this up. It's awesome being able to see the work of somebody that inspires you close up and take in all the minute details you miss in images online. And Sol's work is amazing, all those disparate parts being used to create something wholly new and interesting to look at. There's so much narrative in these pieces. I'll admit, there was a little envy 😅 But then, plot twist!!! Just this weekend past, my amazing other half had organised a surprise gathering of friends old and new for an early birthday picnic on my behalf. One of the surprise guests being Mitch the Terrainosaur, so we can meet in person for the first time, who turns up and bestows a Sol Vince tile upon me as a birthday gift! Gotta say, I'm still a little stupified and elated. Riding high after meeting good people, having a great time and what an amazing gift! I keep poring over the thing taking in all the little details and placing figures on it like a 40k nerd dolls house 🤣
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop I'm not surprised dude, they're wonderful builds. I'll have to paint mine. I'll be studying it as I build my necromunda tiles, it'll be an awesome centrepiece in the collection.
It's a great center piece to build a map around - "Mission: Capture the control room". Beautiful and inspiring! Can't wait to see you use it in a game!
You beast! Up all night live streaming, and still blessing us with good content! Inspiration like must be studied and learned from! Your motivation, hard work and humbleness makes you a masterpiece!
One of the things I do, is ask myself where I am going to store my terrain. I have 14 plastic boxes with folding tops. 12in deep x 12in wide x 18in long. They stack. They keep the terrain safe and clean. If I need to take some terrain to a game its already packed ready to go. It has some drawbacks but more plus.
Have you ever thought about buying a loooot of ww2 model kits? Like tanks, armored vehicles, howitzers etc? Those are very very cheap compared to GW terrains, and would give you a heck of a lot of textured surfaces you could use for your builds.
The weathering really does look great and I like the details and how all the parts go well together. I'm excited to see what you're gonna make going from here! Cheers!
That is BAD ASS....... My future awaits... I love these kinda of builds.. I watch that video over and over, People have wild minds to be able to build such Art Work!! Love Your Channel.. and because of you I subbed to "the other guys too" LOL! Love Ya man!!
Moin (Hello) Eric, I've been watching your videos for several months / years and I'm really enthusiastic, especially about your site and especially your houses for Mordheim and Necromunda. Just cool! Greetings from Germany
Sol Vince is an inspiration. But so are you. Your cheap but effective scenery is what most people need to game effectively. Sol Vince is so technically brilliant it’s frightening. Keep on doing what you do, Eric, and keep on trying new things. Your channel is also inspirational.
And another youtube terrainiac graduates away from acrylic washes. I've had nothing but trouble with them and I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with it. I like your intro music, btw. it heavily reminds me of Killing Floor, one of my favorite FPS games.
Good stuff. I prefer mdf terrain for the most part because all those plastic kits add up fast. Rapid Tabletop does similar, and while I’m in awe of that kind of work, I’m sure each tile also involves many, many GW kits worth of plastic.
Thanks to your shirt, I think some necromunda wrestling is in order. This terrain piece would make a great backdrop for the main event! Also is that Ultimate Warrior?!
Respectful, thoughtful and well expressed review. Sol is great and this is a really nice video from someone who’s clearly a big fan. There’s not enough videos of sols stuff so thanks for this I enjoyed it.
You sure? I could have sworn i read about the catering that the adeptus mechanicus provided for their servitors in one of the black library books, but i could be thinking of their second breakfast meal
huloo! Just wanted to comment that I have watched this a bunch of times - it really is a masterpiece and love to hear your insights it makes a great brain snack whilst I work on my cawdor spreadsheet...
It would be cool if these channel challenged each other to make some sort terrain made out of an old codexs/ defunct rule books that people like myself who have kicking about after playing 40k/aos for several years.
As fate would have it, I bought the other of Sol's big pieces. If you're cool with it, I could put together 'I Bought a Terrain MASTERPIECE - Part II'.
It is pretty awesome, and a glimpse at what the rest of us mere mortals might be able to accomplish if we had a metric crap ton of bits lying about. Vince and guys like Leo over at Rapid Tabletop - I look at what they make (in awe, mind you) in terms of "what fraction of a house payment would that cost in GW kits". So its back random crap glued on with a hot glue gun for me! Cheers!
Hey Eric, great video again. Sorry if this has been asked before, but do you have plans to add a lower price tier to your patreon? I would love to join the patreon, but a $5 pledge adds up when you want to support multiple channels. I look forward to your next stream/video regardless, keep it up
Arch has called for the Warhammer community to fight back against GW. Arch has already won one battle against GW showing that if we stand together we can win. Do you want Eric to continue? Do you want him to continue all his narrative’s? Then fight! Start sending emails, respectful, non-harassing but firm, demanding they back off their new IP rules and explaining how the Animators, Lore-masters and Painting channels are needed to expand the fan base and how they are hurting the hobby rather than helping it. Fight Brothers and Sisters of the Imperium, or we shall lose our very souls to the idiotic evil that is GW.
Me: this Sol Vince guy looks cool, why haven't I heard of him? Also me, 5 minutes later (to myself): you've not only heard of him, you follow him on Instagram, idiot. You were fooled by the lack of an underscore in his name...

I'd love to see you create a complementary tile of your own to go with this. Go on, do it! I believe in you.
I have never seen the tiles for sale anywhere! They’re hard as heck to get it seems
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop That is a fair point. As soon as they are in stock they are gone. Maybe, someone here has one you can have?

Love this vid. Nice to have a tour pointing out all the excellence!
Probably some of the best rust & weathering I've seen, Awesome piece
You and Sol share that grimdark rusty esthetic. Great piece by Sol; love your work too.

I learn something everytime I watch one of your vids. Just want to say Thank you! Keep up the good work.
Sol Vince is a real master indeed. I follow him since few month now and he his very inspiring. As you are, fellow crafter !
Loving the old school Warrior vs Hogan shirt.
Proud for you man. Beautiful piece. 3D printing has made me more likely to flood my pieces with bits.
Sol Vince pops up in the Terrain Building / Necromunda reddit from time to time. Always stands out! Thanks for the breakdown
Yeah hes a legend!
the thing that grabbed my attention at first was how he has chipped/broken the corigated panels , just dont see that all to often
Yeah i forgot to mention it but i think those bits are styrene

I like the Pulp Fiction reference... You have an amazing channel and content Eric.
Astonishing painting. Worth al the undoubted sweat.
This matches your terrain so well I would have guessed that you painted it.
worthy investment! Reminds me of the old Water World movie from the Smokers base.
Standing by for the Sol Vince brigading, Warmaster. NOW GIVE US YOUR SECRETS, VINCE!
Lets gooooo
YES! Sol did a fantastic job. And now we get to look forward to more Necromunda goodness from EHW 😁👍

Very cool! I loved this vid and I can’t say exactly why!
I’m glad!! I enjoyed making a shorter viseo
Is this tile a size of the FW's Zone Mortalis tile?
Keen to see what this inspires.
I would follow Sol Vince again if I could haha. I'm curious to what the Zone Mortalis floor tile is mounted on. Is it foam or wood or something else?
