The competition is now closed! We are tallying the votes! It’s gonna be close and the tension is almost unbearable!
Edit: I am speechless. We tallied the votes and the final score was 222-222. A DRAW!!!! What are the chances??? So, we will both be doing a young sheldon review! 😂
I missed voting by 1hr...drat!
😂
So do you both get glory too, or is there no glory for anyone?
Had I not missed the voting, there would've been a winner!!
How about a rematch instead?
This feels like watching my kids graduate, so proud. "Hobby heroes under 5k" seems like a distant memory! ;)
Just trying to make you proud Guy!!
My vote is for Eric's Hobby Workshop. Both were good, but the thing that swayed it for me, was the use of the LED lights, as industrial lights. Brilliant!
*HEAVY METAL* I'm coming for you dude *HEAVY METAL* Challenge me brahhh *HEAVY METAL*
>starts project with a barbie set.
Beautiful 😂👌
Great observation! It is pretty funny.
Both are awesome, but I prefer Eric's one, the details and whole paint job with colors and grafiti tied it in so well with Necromunda. And the tea LEDs are a brilliant idea!
Thanks! I’m pretty happy with the splashes of colour. I think i will incorporate more cyberpunk into future builds
Great collab guys, super fun! Both vids and builds were very well done. Too close to call. ;
IM HARDCOREEEE!!!So heres the barbie thing ill be using..
Loved it 😂👌
This guy does not miss.
You can use a can opener to cut the inverse dome out of the bottom of a pop can and then place it on top after removing the tab. That will give you a nice convex tank.
Edit: here I was giving you a free tip just because, then I heard the shout-out. Much appreciated
Your channel rocks man! I will try that inverse dome technique
👍it’s the devil in the details. Loved the computer terminal, trailing wiring and the toxic vat. Nice one brother👍
For anyone wondering, the synth music that plays throughout the video is Lands Unknown by Futuremono. Took a while to ID it, but awesome track, and awesome build!
Construx......😁
My childhood, thanks for the build and the trip down memory lane
I know I’m 3 years too late on my vote, but you win hands down! Your channel has inspired many of my builds and honestly continues to bring me back to the hobby when I lost all inspiration or energy to build. At one point I even threw away my collection of building materials, but I am slowly rebuilding my pile, got a 3D printer and I’m printing as many doors, terminals, and greebles that I can get my hands on. Pro Tip, don’t throw away your supplies, it’s so hard starting over…
WOW! Just found your channel and am IMpressed! The whole lockdown thing has left me uninspired but this kind of stuff gets the old juices flowing, thanks a bunch....gonna go check out your competition now..he'll hafta come up with something good to get my vote.
What ever the outcome their needs to be a rematch! Watching you both push it to the limit with your builds is just brilliant to watch!
Jesus Christ. When I suddenly saw the CONTRUX kit being used the visceral hit of nostalgia nearly knocked me over. I had forgotten about that toy! wow. thanks for the blast from the past... and also all the cool videos
I gotta give the win to Dark Matter here. Eric, I really liked this piece. It's one of your best next to the Desert Fort one - the Akira themed colors, the toxic pool, the lighting, the sheer playability of it... all outstanding. But Gert's scratch-built corpse grinder made from printer parts is too grimdark to ignore.
I love this whole concept! Also, how metal it is.
Wow dude, that was awesome.
Also, the Blood Angel and Catachan.. you got my vote!
Alright! A collab between two of my favorite terrain makers :)
Very awesome man. I love all the extra details like the railings, and ladders. I am always on the look out got those plastic rackets you talk about. Keep up the good work.
Love how the one light shining down into the tank lights up the resin!
I did enjoy you including that beginning with that barbie toy even though it wasn't used. Its good to see the process even parts that don't go as planned. I like how you branched out into those brighter colors it does make those parts of the terrain pop. Well done.
Great job Eric, like the detail of the computer screens and the graffiti. The idea of adding additional graffiti as you play is awesome! Need to do more challenges this was great!
I appreciate the Malta banner you have behind you in the challenge Video man. Dude from the Isle of Knights here. Viva Malta u il-Maltin
Cool! My brother got that for me. I hope to visit someday
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop cool, if you do we can play some nacromunda
I have been rewatching your vids and building some things along with them there is alot of great content on your channel thanks man
This is awesome, you guys are 2 of my very favorite channels
This build blows my mind. Thanks for the video.
Great work, this is my favourite. Some nice details with the lights and resin pool
That terminal looks crazy amazing like I know it’s just a prop but it pops so well great job
Your work’s in my heart, thanks you for inspiring!
Dude. I was totally keying off the constructs in the beginning. Absolutely reminiscing. I’m so glad you mentioned it later.
Great build Eric. I always really dig your Necromunda builds. Someday you're gonna have to show us your table all set up for a game!
Rad. You got my vote. You got colors, contrast, graffiti, lights, and you sealed up the seams on the cardboard tube. And you reminded me about construx. Haven’ seen those in 25 years! Great build.
If I keep watching your awesome terrain videos I'm never going to get round to doing my actual army! Amazing stuff, king, you're inspiring a LOT of people :D
Dear Eric, Fantastic build & tutorial! Very Inspirational! Keep well & keep safe. Kind Regards Johnny
I use metal wire in foam for a re-bar style rubble look. I find just putting a drop of white glue on the metal and then sticking it in will secure it. Does take a little while to dry but it holds securely enough. Then ModPodge over it to seal it in.
As always, nice work.
supernice project! really cool lights with the wireing they are epic!
Love all the little details you added. You have my vote :) Good luck!
I don't know what music you used, but it is the perfect chill grove to just sort of leave in the background while painting.
That comment about boiling in the boilers and then distilling off into the pipes and condensing in the tank. 100% accurate. I work with things that do that quite a bit in my field of work. And a good bit of it you don’t wanna inhale for too long. I’ve done very little myself. But there’s guys who have done that for 1000’s of hours of work
Amazing stuff! So many great ideas!
Red glass paint and a little piece of wire on those LEDs would really make them look like bulkhead lights. Good job!
Bro, this is freaky awesome! Make more!
Before reading the results, I was about to comment that this is such a close competition, and each has different strengths. I learned a load from watching both videos. Great content guys. :-)
Epic terrain piece! Very inspiring!
My vote is on you Eric. I loved Dark Matter Workshop's idea a little more interesting, but you won with the execution of your project. Making this piece more colorful and adding the lights make it really stand out
Both builds are amazing and are a fantastic use of materials, but got to give it to Eric because of the use of LED lights and stepping out his comfort zone with adding the colour really makes it catch your eye... That and Gert has already lost his soul to Paw Patrol.
Thanks Liam! It’s important to push the limits!
Great aesthetics, great execution, and especially awesome playability. You've got my vote!
Awesome build! Love the small touches like the wires and lights. Super cool! Looks rad. And after watching Dark Matter's video build, although his body muncher thingy looks pretty amazing, I think yours gets my vote! :)
For gluing your pipes together to add a touch more strength to those glue joints, roll a piece of construction paper into a small tube and insert in inside the two same gauge pieces before gluing. Add glue, slide together. Makes handling the piece easier too.
Like both builds, but I like your presentation of it better. So my vote would be for you. Really hard decision, you're both very skilled! Thanks for sharing.
Excellent job on the build, love the LED lights
Love your vibe dude. You are an inspiration.
Amazing work. Way outside my comfort zone, as I'm doing a Medieval castle build, but this is so cool and inspiring. Keep it up.
Thanks doug! I like to switch between settings to keep my brain nimble
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop I noticed. I like the way you don't plan much and improv, kind of a jazz musician approach to building terrain. I watched your tower video too. Just got my hot wire cutting table today, and I'm excited to start cutting the 32 square feet of xps I got from Lowe's this weekend. Looking forward to the next video.
Dude i got very inspired with the video
thanks :D
Oh my. Taking note of a good bunch of ideas from here. I don't like competitions, but might come back later to vote just to play along.
Eric gets my vote. Corpse grinder was a great idea but the finished product looked . . .unfinished. GJ Eric
This is great, Eric ... I missed the challenge - as I'm a new subscriber to your channel. But ... I have to say that both pieces are great work - @Dark Matter/Gerts is simply horrifying ...
As always - fantastic!
Eric you are AMAZING! Inspired now to build some lower-hive stuff of my own.
Your creations are so inspiring! My vote is for you!
I love how he switches hands to point with in the video to dark matter.
Good tip on warming up the epoxy. I have to say some bubbles in the toxic sludge could have looked pretty cool. I also love the idea for using the tea lights.
Both are great and give me good ideas for projects, but I think I gotta vote for Dark Matter.
I have to say that you both did a fantastic job. I like how you show how you don't have to force something you want to use but instead save it for another day. Also well thought out. Fortunately for you my vote goes to Eric's Hobby Workshop for a couple of reasons but it was close. 1. I liked how you put in lightning fixtures 2. I also liked how you had control panels that made it look like it was running the facility 3. Lastly, I liked how on the spiral cardboard you covered it in paper so you couldn't see the lines which I did see on the other one. These are very minut but was the tipping point for me because I can only hope to be on either of your levels in near future. Keep doing what you guys are doing because I love this kind of content because it gives many of us inspiration and ideas. I still love both by the way, but when you have 2 awesome things to judge you have to nitpick something. Well done to both of you.
I was kind of expecting you to use the same paint pouring technique Dark Matter Workshop used for the waste reclamation facility. But this is good too. Great work.
You got my vote Eric, this build was just too atmospheric with your signature attention to detail pulling ahead of Gert's corpse grinder by a nose! I like the use of brighter colors and wet blending on this build especially!
Man it’s hard to decide, both of you did an awesome job
Wow, fantastic effort to you both! I have to go with Dark Matter Workshop, by a very slim margin.
Here's my dudes dukin' it out!
Eric's build wins for me! Gert's concept was cool too but this one gets my vote for the design and detailing. :D
19:58 The little details added to the Gatorade bottle top boiler really sells it!
Great build :) Your video challenge had a little Bill&Ted vibe to it.
Loved a lot of the details in Dark Matters build, but I think yours is a stronger contestant as a whole. And just the fact that you thought of gaming aspects like falling of the platforms and such makes me like it even more. Amazing work. My vote goes to you Eric!
shoulda/coulda ran that tape through backwards to get twice as many rivets
Colons
I vote for this piece but full disclosure I'm going to do the same for the build over at Dark matter workshop too because frankly I'm just hyped that you guys did this, keep it up this is platinum grade content :)
The colors and wiring did it for me. Eric you get my vote. I do prefer the way Gert says superglue though. Awesome build!
Gotta go with Eric’s build, gives me joker vibes even with the purple and green and vat of acid.
Wow! Both of you are great!
I can't choose.
I absolutely love all of your builds! This one is fantastic! But I always wonder, where do you store them all?
Though I like DMW's concept more, I think Eric's is a better piece of Necromunda terrain, because it's got more spots to fight over, and specifically centres a cool concept for the mechanics: falling into the toxic vat!
Love both the pieces, but Eric's is the winner, IMO.
Very cool. Keep at it.
wow the it looks AMAZING with the lights
Ho! What a contest! First of all, you know guys, the size of the chimney doesn't mater!!! I will give you my vote there for the playability of your terrain and the use of the colors, and will give my vote to Gret on his channel for the concept of his terrain. Thanks for that really great content
Your build was SWEET! Would love to have a game on it. But my vote goes to Dark Matter. His terrain had more spaced out concept and is also really well executed. Keep up the great work!!
THIS IS GORGEOUS!
That is so cool. I'm surprised at how well the pastel colours worked with the grungy theme, and the lighting makes the end result look really cinematic.
Having watched the Dark Matter video, I'm giving Eternal Glory to Eric's Hobby Workshop. The Dark Matter video has some really cool details, like all the work on the corpse grinders; however, Eric's build has more visual interest (just that splash of strong colour really makes the over all model pop).
Wow, this was a hard one. I am mind blown by the creativity from both of you. Amazing. I watched Erics video first and thought, oh boy, this one will be hard to beat. But Dark Matter yo really nailed it. You have my vote. Thank you both for your awesome content!
I know this is an old video, but damn dude, this is a nice build, i bought the Ash wastes Necromunda boxset a few days ago, aswell as the Main rulebook for the Main hive wars, and ive been looking for inspiration on terrain building and creation, this really fits the bill, even tho this was 2 years ago, i hope you guys still play and make terrain liek this. Well done :).
Eric did a "vat of acid" episode...
I dig it
I was thinking the same thing!
Rick and Morty S4E8 for anyone that's confused. One of my favorites!
this channel is heckin wholesome.
"...Or not, if you prefer more of a brach vibe to your craft space"
absolutely stunning
Subbed or not...this is epic man.
I vote Eric, it is the colours that have done it, and it is really themed in there. the lights make a nice twist, and I can see more play area on his, which is what it is all really about.
This is REALLY spooky, a mate asked me to design a meat grinder or obstacle that people could fall into...a week later you guys are doing it! thanks for the great ideas !!! can I vote for both of you?
Very impressive!
This is very cool, and I really like how you incorporate bits of toys and other found objects into your designs. However, in this case, I'm gonna have to vote for Dark Matter Workshop's wonderfully gory corpse-smoosher. Sorry, man.
The lighting and details just about make you the winner in my opinion Eric, although the coolest part of Gerts was the flesh mangling thing
You win Eric. I didn't think you would at first. Given a slime manufacturing theme, which feels unoriginal. However, the lighting and and color details gave you the winning edge.
While I liked Gert's meat grinder concept better and think his turned out great, I think Eric's piece looks like more fun to play on and looks more striking overall.
Looking forward to more content from both of you. Love these crossovers!
Well, I've watched both vids. Wow, such awesome terrain. From both of you. It's hard to pick one to vote for.
Dark matter workshops piece was amazing, I'm talking pro-level
God-tier terrain-from-trash.
HOWEVER.
Eric, man, your pieces allways make me WANT to play, nay NEED to play, Necromunda. D.M.W's don't really have that effect. Maybe it's the weathering effects you do. I dunno.
Every. Single. Time.
I don't actually play Necromunda.
Yet.
In the end I can't decide.
I love both you guys works of art.
I only wish I wasn't poor so I could afford to join both your patrions.
