- Hey, everyone! Today, we are taking you through the lively streets of Little India in Kuala Lumpur. With a visit to India lined up in our schedule, we wanted a sneak peek into the culture, just to see what to expect when we actually visited the Indian Subcontinent.
Little India in Kuala Lumpur is a vibrant and culturally rich district that reflects the Indian community's influence and heritage. It's also a place where the Indian community in Kuala Lumpur gathers, and it offers a slice of Indian culture in the heart of Malaysia.
Under the sunny sky, we walked through the vibrant streets of Little India and ended up in a popular Banana Leaf restaurant. The food, filled with flavors like curry, meat, and rice, was amazing. And eating it off of a banana leaf was a totally unique experience. While enjoying our meal, we met Raj, a friendly local from India, who shared interesting insights and made our experience even better.
After such a filling meal, we continued our Little India adventure. Just nearby, we couldn't resist trying some desserts and chai tea, making our day even more delicious.
Full of energy, we explored the Indian open markets. The colorful stalls and lively atmosphere gave us a taste of what Indian markets are like. Each corner had stories to tell about culture and tradition.
Little India wasn't just a place; it was a journey into Indian-Malaysian culture. The sights, sounds, and flavors left a lasting impression on our Malaysia adventure, giving us a glimpse of what awaited us in India. Stay tuned for more travel stories! 🌏🗺️

Banana Leaf rice means unlimited rice and vegetables with curry for one charge/price.
Its extra for side dishes like chicken, mutton or fish.
So if you eat a lot of rice. Eat Banana Leaf. If you eat just a little rice, stick with the plate. Its cheaper.
Cool! Thanks for the info. I didn't know this.

Long historical connection between India and Malaysia and the colonizing British who bought Indian labour over.
Interesting. It feels like you're in India but it's Malaysia.
Im Malaysian. Just to clarify, not all Indians and Chinese who came to Malaysia were labourers. Many were educated administrators brought in for their expertise in town planning and statisitics.
Some of the ancestors came in way before, in the 12-15th century when China and India were massive trading empire's and they settled in places like Malacca. This was way before the British even arrived.

Brickfields
India do not hv roti canai, they have roti paratha like in singapore. Roti canai in 2023 was voted the best bread in the work by food atlas.
I don't understand what you mean when you say that India does not have roti canai but it does have roti paratha just like in Singapore. Roti canai and roti paratha are exactly the same except for the terminology...it's roti prata in Singapore and roti canai in KL. The Indian version of paratha tastes different from the Singaporeans/ Malaysian version.
@cheeyienchung7265 it is different texture. Flour type.
Nope! it's not India, they're Malaysian of Indian origin settle down long time ago ,little India names given to the place where you can find varieties of Indian cuisines to enjoy
Yes and it was really nice to have a taste of India there in KL!
